Physical and mental player health

Look last time I made my plea it was a question that was “answered” with an opinion. Why do killers have no way of exiting a game early without punishment? Why are killer players held hostage by a dc ban system that survivors can avoid entirely? Why can survivors play as Cruelly as possible, and time out the endgame without punishment? Why am I forced to play a game against a hacker to avoid a ban? Why am I forced to play through a match that has overwhelmed me neurologicallly (AuDHD) and raised my resting heart rate from 100-120?

Any other game, I could leave and start a new match that was actually fun, and it would be far better for the health of both that game and me.

For context I’m not referring to SWF, or skilled solo queue, or gen rushers, or sabo boxes, or flashlights, or even overused perks. On their own all of the these things are fine and can make for fun and challenging matches. What I am referring to is the type of team that dresses in all Feng Min bunnies or Milkmen Steve’s and hyper coordinate to play in the most toxic unfun way possible, denying even a single hook state before gates are opened then forcing endgame to time out.

Why can’t we just get rid of the 5 min bans and keep reward restrictions? At the very least add a way for killers to power gates early while still disabling rewards and match progress! It is unacceptable for a game to straight up punish me for bad health.

It’s like the devs are saying, “oh you have a disability and can’t play against our most toxic players? Well here’s a ban for that. Delete our game”

At some point I very well might. This is the only online game I’ve every really really enjoyed. 500+ hrs and a platinum. Be a shame to throw away something so special because behavior can’t make a ranked mode or something

A lot of games have DC penalties to ensure there's no early leavers. That's just standard on a lot of competitive games these days, as an early leaver can ruin the match pretty quickly.

It sounds like you're in a pretty rough situation, but at some point you have to take care of yourself. I have AuDHD too, and I've had to put down the game for a while at some points because it wasn't really bringing me any joy anymore, it was just causing frustration and boredom. I've gone on months long breaks and picked up the game afterwards, and I found a renewed sense of fun when I came back.

I know it can be frustrating to have to put down something you really enjoy, this game has been my special interest for years at this point, and I've been pretty sad when I've had to step away every time, but every time it was for the best.

If the game is giving you more trouble than fun, you do not have to play it, and I would advise you go on a break. DBD isn't going anywhere anytime soon and you'll be able to pick it back up whenever you want.

The DC penalty will not be removed (the devs have made that very clear), and if being unable to disconnect in these kinds of matches is giving you this much grief, it's time to step away for a bit.

So dead by daylight is competitive game now? Are you sure. Is it marketed as competitive game? I dunno I personally don't think it should be competitive but the toxic survivor freind squads and toxic killers made it so. Now everyone has to play like a goddamn sweat every game and the killer must tunnel the entire game cause otherwise they lose. I dunno I don't like this crap and I don't even know games that have dc penalties to begin with? It seems to me this whole system is dumb no matter how much hate I get for it I will continue thinking it is dumb to have dc penalties especially for a game that you paid.

There's a bigger conversation to be had around that question, which probably should be on a different thread.

However, it is competitive in nature, as in it pits players against each other, and has things like SBMM to ensure some type of match fairness.

The devs kind of have a foot in both camps (casual v competitive) as to what they want this game to be, but you could 100% call this game competitive, but not eSports level ready or anything.

Either way, the conversation is kind of irrelevant to this thread, as the DC penalty isn't going anywhere.

Yeah apparently but it is indeed deserved to leave. And also I find it very unfair that survivors also start bullying you for leaving and not playing with them when you see a map offering and the fact they are survivor friends after the match. It is honestly sad that they get to be acting like that with no consequences the saddening truth about the internet D: no idea why they have to be such broken individuals. It is just funny how everyone gets away with being rude, toxic and bullying the killer. Most of the time it is the survivors doing it which is sad. Honestly playing with friends on discord call is just straight up cheating and they know it but still they act like they are better.
