Prohibit DCing/self hook attempts until 5 minutes into a match
The "go next" epidemic needs to end, this is making solo queue (main method of playing the game) a nightmare. You shouldn't be allowed to just leave a match so quickly, people really underestimate how likely you are to actually make a comeback in rough situations.

Typically only swfs with less then 4 people will rarely go next, and killers almost never go next. Solo queue is like every other game someone on surv side will dc or ######### on hook cus they misplayed and think the game is lost

I think they mean that solos are the most common types of Survivor players overall.

Ahhhh I see. Last I read half of the survs are solo and the other half are mostly duos, with a sprinkle of trios and quads mixed in.

I mean it was far easier to give up years ago, at least now you have to miss 2 skill checks before the entity kills you on hook. Before it was just kobe 2 times and then miss 1 skill check and you're gone, or just disconnect when the disconnect penalty wasn't added, which by the way, wasn't added until December 2019. Us survivors playing solo queue had endure survivors just leaving when they didn't like something that wasn't going in their favour for nearly 4 entire years, furthermore, survivors were able to disconnect when loading into the game, and us survivors still had to play as a 3v1 with 4 generators left to repair.
But overall I see it as survivors being sore losers and pathetic, I play both sides, more killer than survivor but once they face the slightest bit of discomfort they're gone, and then they're inflating the kill rates of killers, which is why Skull Merchant for example had ridiculous kill rate across MMRs cause survivors just gave up. And this isn't just Skull Merchant, If It's a killer which the survivors have to adapt to then they don't typically like it, give up and either call you boring like I've had in the past when playing Huntress or Deathslinger.
But however, people are forgetting are crucial factor to all this. People that have joined Dead by Daylight past 2020 have experienced better and faster queue times then us the older and veteran players. In the past, survivors had to endure the longest queue times ever, due to less amount of players and having no cross platform at the time meaning the survivor could just face the boring match or the match they don't like or face the long queue times. Now that queue times are arguably faster and better, now if a survivor can't loop a killer without adapting to their playstyle or power, get a boring match, get's tunnelled, get's camped or even gets down less than a minute in a chase due to their own mistake or a killer being better… they can now just requeue and find a match in less than a minute.

You had depipping which punished a survivor as well for leaving a match so early, meaning less bloodpoints to be awarded at rank resets which was needed due to bad the grind use to be, that was the punishment. When that was removed, suicides on hook obviously took an increase.And yes, of course Behaviour is now gonna being updating the game to make it slightly more killer sided.. Why would this be? Oh yeah, perhaps it's when the game was ridiculously survivor sided for years in terms of the unfair perks, add on, offerings, maps, and items. It literally use to be an escape rate of around 80/10, that's how easy it was for survivors. And this is why Killers played less, and Behaviour are starting to adjust that to make it feel balanced on both sides, regardless of what anyone argues or says, I recommend you go download an older version of Dead by Daylight and get a friend and then see how absolutely ridiculous it was for killers before complaining it's just "Behaviour making it easier for the killers." But as Matthew Cote said once years ago, “At the lower levels the game is killer sided and at the higher levels it’s survivor sided.”, which is true to an extent, if you watch actual comp matches against experienced players that know what they're doing that's when skill begins to show, and when killers will have a harder time, and that's cause the killer isn't some Blight or Nurse as well, but at the end day those kind of players are good due to playing the game and getting good as them, which you don't often see. When the survivors aren't good, don't know how to loop the properly or effectively then that's when they don't win as often, due to majority of the player base being casual.

No, not delis. Only self unhook attempts, not garuntees. Solo queue is what majority of players play, rather than playing killer or swfing

Its more of the players looking for the Goldilocks of lobbies. Unless they are dominating the match it is useless so they go on to the next. Never finding their ideal but ruining the game for many.

Well theres nothing bhvr can do abt that, at least this way they waste more time trying to leave the game. The point being to show people that the team can actually make a comeback

Then they shouldn't be playing the game. They know what to expect from dbd they have no right to make others miserable, if you're queuing for a match, you're expected to play it out. The alternative is they make ranked and casual gamemodes so people who actually take the game seriously can play and have fun freely

Literally no one is physically forcing survivors to play the game.
Punishing survivors for leaving a game early, isn't the same thing as forcing survivors to play the game.

You hit the find match button you consented to participating in the match BHVR has the right to punish or ban you for refusing to play in a match

If you want to ban people for making others miserable, then we've got a long list of things to ban for.

All flawed designs don't get me wrong, its a small fix to incentivise people to see that not all hope is lost. Banning people for abusing this unintended flawed machanic however is punishable, but the thing is, people just shouldn't be able to do it.

Thats the mentality all players should have, its common sense. If you're not enjoying the game which requires you to work as a team, then why are you playing it at all? Stop making your teammates lose, because of your own mistakes and lack of patience

Maybe implement working matchmaking or an MMR system that rewards skill, go next is just the result of horrible game balance, matchmaking, and horrible MMR system. The devs have made it clear that if you don't play SWF or killer you don't matter, maybe just stop playing if you care about a fair match in solo q, I see a lot fo players already have.

Just yesterday one of my solo queue teammates used dramaturgy around 0 resources. He died from exposed and started to spam attempt on hook. Them another teammate tried to stop them, farmed them and they both died. Every single time its because they experience something really annoying from the killers arsenal, or they make an embarrassingly bad mistake and pout to themself before either dcing or kysing. Its always for these reasons. Or cus they don't have any awareness and can't look at their HUD's ti see 2 gens basically about to pop. Its so annoying to have these egotistical players in your lobby, they think they can just run away from intended game features that they have control over

Nothing about your suggestion, though, even begins to "incentivize them to see that hope is not lost". At best, it's simply a nerf, and at worst you're just removing a literal aspect of hope (that you might be able to self rescue if you get really lucky).
It's targeting a symptom, not a core issue.
Did you ever think that maybe if they hadn't reworked maps, nerfed tile spawn logic, added tons of dead zones, and added a ton of unsafe pallets that player may not have been in a situation to have "zero resources nearby"?

I'm fully of the opinion that the "go next" problem is a game health issue, and is a key indicator that the target 60% kill rate is probably too much. There's a ton that contributes to that, but just about every patch has pushed the game that direction since about 6.1.0.

While those are the main issues they do this, that'll take ages for bhvr to implement. They probably don't even know how poor their map generation is, which has me confused on why its even randomized when set balanced layouts would be more beginner friendly and fair. But then again if all maps were exactly the same in size and number of tiles, mobility killers would become too strong. Then they would need to nerf like half the roster which takes even more time.
this would be a small fix to people who think they can just leave their match and their team behind. Its not fair to them or any of us that we have to put up with people who go next, banning them isn't fixing the game since so many people do it. The playerbase is dropping from all the people bhvr had ban for doing this stupid stuff, instead of acting out, they should be speaking out on the forums.
Thats right, bhvr needs to promote the official forums more. People don't seem to realize its the main place to deliver feedback, and theres like only a few people who are actively on here giving opinions on how to fix the game. Bhvr needs more data though, more agreeance with issues in the game that the community deems issues. Crying about your experience in the moment is not helping to gather data on why the game is getting stale

That killrate has likely skyrocketted this dbd year. Its so misleading too, since most games they just give up anyways. Thats why most people who've been here for ages just ignore the stats, cus its not actually representative of their own gameplay and expectations. I'm not exactly sure when the epidemic started, but its been complained alot abt lately, and needs to be fixed asap, or this games playerbase is quickly gonna drop. Plus, bringing new content and not fixing old stuff is not good for retaining an audience, in short, FNAF hype will not last long

I agree, to a point, it's likely multi-faceted but game health must play a large role.
Some of it is likely entitlement, but I do think a lot of it boils down to the fact that the most popular mode, Solo Survivor, is absolutely miserable in the best of times. Players receive few rewards, few enjoyable matches and little progression for their efforts.

The problem is, solo queue players make up majority of players. They need to balance the game to retain their playerbase which is rapidly declining. Theres no real way to see your MMR and no other way to deem a win and increase it. Kills=skills is completely not true, theres so many videos from content creators who completely disagree with this statement. You can't judge how good someone is based off the kills and escapes in a match, theres so many factors ti deciding a match outcome. Thats where making a ranked gamemode with unique balancing and ban machanics would make this issue dissappear, since then you can do whatever you want in casual, and in ranked have the reassurance of a normal match that has "going next" as not an option

There was never a time where missing 1 skillcheck on hook could kill you, it went from mashing a button at a consistent speed to 2 failed skill checks in a row (or 3 total)

Well i agree that luck based occurrences like this shouldn't exist, a game can get completely turned around because of this feature. But i guess thats a bad thing since its essentially like a 5th super niche perk, and killers don't have any rare chance to do some insane effect and turn the game around. Best to leave it in though, since its like a last resort after everyone goes down or is dead, which is the only time i guess where kysing is acceptable behaviour

Thats another thing, missing hook skill checks shouldn't kill your survivor if you miss consecutively. Thats super non beginner friendly, they need to learn that missing simply kills them faster. Theres almost no creativity behind the decisions and machanics bhvr had made. The anti tunnel machanic is dumb, and could be made stronger with different unique effects, but its too much work clearly to make survivors invincible and collisionless for 10-15 seconds

Maybe instead of stopping people form giving up we instead look at the reasons and address them?
Funny enough they have made it far harder and yet it's the worse it's been. So maybe we ask why people give up. Maybe they have a reason?

Many survivors give up because they have a quick and easy way to ragequit, that bypasses the DC penalties. The speed, convenience, and lack of consequences, is the main problem.
And this game has too many DCs because the DC penalties decay very quickly, and they start off super low.

I mean there really shouldn't be a time where survivors should be perfectly safe, thats just babyproofing in a game where someone is supposed to be trying to kill you

Does solo q make up the majority? I don't have those stats, you have a link? Me personally, I have no problem losing, I just want to play with people that play like I do and the current system just doesn't seem to work that way. I really feel like making a separate mode for ranked play will just make queues longer and the casual mode will be the same as the game is now. I remember saying rank based matchmaking was a joke but you know solo survivors actually tried, and there was far less quitters.

Just had a round against a tunneling dracula where 1 dc'ed and the other just stood there after bring picked up, the bot managed to loop the killer for the entire last gen and me and the other survivor who was left managed to open both doors and escape seperately before he could reach us.

People give up just bc can, recently I go SM and the first hook was #########, This is literally a meme killer without power, but some survivors are so big kids that ######### just like that, the funny thing is that in that match 3 survivors escaped, so yes the reason is that some survivors go next with any minor factor

Globally around half of all survs are solo and the other half roughly is duos, with very small amounts of trios and even less of quads. But that's everyone altogether, with group makeup differing some due to MMR and region.
