2v8 Solution that no one wants to hear

It's been pointed out by a few content creators that the addition of 2 bots makes this mode feel more like 2v6, which actually feels a lot better. I can honestly say, I fully agree with this notion and then some.

Look, I know the whole branding word play is 2v8, cause double and double, all that. But if we're being honest here, survivor side is just too broken. It doesnt matter how fast killers get downs, the gens go faster. No combo matters, no strategy matters, the gens just fly too fast unless you get a lucky match where not a single survivor is committing to gens.

But if we nerf the survivor side no one will want to play it. And to be honest, it isnt the individual survivors that need nerfing. Yes, loops are busted and survivor powers are ludicrous, but the main issue is the number of survivors. 8 is just too many. Killers cannot get enough pressure to stop gen progress at that number.

So my suggestion is to simply remove two survivors. Make it 2v6. That would help the balance a bit, but honestly it'll probably still be heavily survivor sided, and it'll help the cue times. Not just by lessening the number of players needed, but also by making higher tier survivors feel like their gameplay actually matters in the mode. Survivor players like to feel like they make an impact on the match.

Just my two cents, I know 2v8 has been so thoroughly ingrained in everyone's minds, but I genuinely feel 2v6 would be much better and healthier for the game overall. Will it fix all problems immediately, absolutely not. But it'll make more than a small difference.

I'm continuously shocked at how fast gens go in this mode. I think yellow herbs shouldn't remove a hook state. It already takes 3 to kill just a single person, and that number is balanced around the vanilla game where camping and tunneling is possible.

6 survivors would be too few though. Having 2 killers is really, really powerful. 8 survivors is probably a bit too much, but it would be less imbalanced if they couldn't remove hook states imo.

No the real problem is the cheer amount of palettes that are increadible tight so you can't get the downs fast enough to pressure really (also some of the maps simply have impossible loops to play with half the chars because they are increadible save and way to many).

IF both actually down fast enough or one plays legion and one downs everything insanely fast you win with little to decent (at max) issue.

I don't know what I should think about the herbs, it seems almost too much because of the saveness and amount of the loops, at the same time the effects aren't that insane in a ideal situation.

Where do you find these survivor sided 2v8 ? Had 18 games since I played this mod and Killers stomped us all

Got chased and tag teamed while all the SEVEN survivors do absolutely nothing beside hiding and crouching

I found survivors using green herb at full health and using the yellow at 0 cage state

Well I played a lot with my girlfriend (probably the same amount of games or near it) and at the start we won really easily, now it gets harder to win. I don't know if we're just unlucky or if it's people getting used to 2vs8, but the genspeed is sometimes really brutal xD

Well you are a lucky one, my best game was 2 gens done and 3 people (actual people) already dead

Won't reduce queue times. If you make it 2v6 and the queue time goes down guess what happens, more people will queue killer because they know the queue is shorter.

Honestly, the easiest and most simple way to incentivize playing Survivor more (and shorten queue time as a result) would be to simply grant a small amount of Iri Shards for playing (or maybe for escaping?) as Survivors.

However BHVR will likely never do this since it would likely result in a short-lived but high number of cosmetics/characters purchases that might have been made with real money otherwise (especially for newer players).

The exp boost that's being tried is a thing worth exploring I guess since it, although indirectly, does speed up Iri Shards gain by making level up quicker.
