I am against the upcoming Map Offering balancing.

A 20% increase in the chance of getting the specified map makes Map Offering worthless.

I hope it will be scrapped.

To be honest map offerings would be better if they just guaranteed that a map wouldn't be pulled instead of guaranteeing it. I.e- Burn Mary's letter to not go to Silent Hill. It just means that people can avoid bad maps rather than be forced to play on bad maps.

Complaints of Map Offerings are overblown. You're lying if you say you see 8 Eyrie back to back.

Devs should have tried the blind offering first then go from there.

Map offerings need a rebalance. I am personally against them being used to avoid to go to a certain realm, because then they should all be gray at the very least and even then, sometimes there are multiple maps you dont wanna go to.

What I do hope they do, is give the ability to stack them back, BUT survivors get 20% per map offering, and killers gain 60% per map offering.

That way, survivors need 3 offerings to balance out the odds of 1 killer offering (just like the hook distance offerings, where survivors need 3 to balance out the 1 killer offering), but even then neither is guaranteed to go somewhere.

People stream and have map offering numerous times so no

    That explains so much...

Disagree, this is the change I am the most excited about.

My only worry is that it's going to kill things like jumpscare Myers who needs Lery's or Midwich to work, but that's a small price to pay for SWFs to need to choose between map offerings and BP boosts.

I think keeping Map Offerings in the game is a bad strategy, the reason we have them is so people can get achievements.

But they really sour the experience, no body is happy to be sent to a map which they percieve the other team is prepared for.
I feel like Map Offerings is an old design that kinda has to die, we cant allow people to prepare so much for a specific play, the games have to flow organically.

What role do you play and what map offerings do you usually bring?

If they are just going to be a % chance just delete it it's just clutter.

If the only people upset about this change are survivors who cant send the killer to eyrie, badham and garden of joy, its a good change.

Yeah I agree, they should be entirely removed.

    Agreed.

20% is a bit steep, especially when they don't stack. They should at the very least make them stack, so if people really wanted to try to make sure a map came up, all four Victims could put the same in and get an 80% chance of a particular map. It wouldn't be guaranteed, but 80% would still be decent.

I also don't like it, because this will severely impact my ability to play Trapper. He is significantly disadvantaged on some maps, not to mention average at best without full iri addons.

It means a lot to be able to burn a Mary's Letter to get a map more suitable for my boy Trapper. Without it, well, I have an 80% risk of my map offering not working and then I've not only wasted my offering slot for nothing, but my addons too, unless it's Lery's Memorial Institute or Hawkins National Laboratory.

The only thing that worries me is that we might never get to play some maps. I've still only played the Ormond mines a handful of times in public matches

    Yes, delete them.

For a game that loves to tout its RNG and randomness, just delete them or make them into realm bans.

People would actually use more of them and it would be more of a toss-up on where we go versus a person picks a map going there automatically or a high percentage of going to a place.

It creates an unfair advantage and I hardly use them - I did do map roulette the other day because I was bored of getting the same maps over and over (Coldwind, Midwich, Haddonfield, Autohaven, etc).

Just rework them or make it so if you use a sacrificial ward and a map offering wasn't used, it goes back into your inventory as it wasn't even used to begin with.

With the new map offerings, it makes Sacrificial Ward useless anyways.

I like map offerings currently even though I agree that they're often used for a specific purpose to take advantage of a certain build. etc. (As someone who plays Myers, I have to use a map offering when I run scratched mirror for instance because it really stinks if you get an outdoor, wide open map with that build.)

I think map offerings should stay as they are, especially because the sacrificial ward is now a brown-tier offering that players can use if they want to leave the map in the hands of RNG. Or maybe something like killer's map offering has priority over survivor map offerings?

In my opinion, map offerings should just decrease the chance for a specific realm since everyone has a most hated realm and that's okay. But it's not okay to get a massive advantage by just dropping a map offering and being prepaird for it while giving the other side a massive disadvantage. Map offerings are an unhealthy issue in the game for a long time and there is no good reason to keep them as they are.

I'm excited for this change, I'll be able to bring bloodpoint offerings instead of sac wards

I am also against it. we have a way to cancel out all map offerings so its not necessary. Also I have builds that rely on specific maps for the memes, this would essentially render them pointless
