New Boon idea
Just a rough Boon idea that popped into my head -
How about a Boon perk that creates random occasional noise notifications for the killer in the boons range? Not excessive but every now and again with a skill check type RNG.

That's not a terrible start to something we've seen little of so far. Diversion and Red Herring, as far as I'm aware, are the only perks so far to sort of throw a distraction/bait out there for the Killer.

Thank you. It would be mice to have more of these niche perks since the main complaints are usually about gen or healing speeds.

It's an interesting idea, but I feel like the perk would be completely redundant once killer players learn how to tell it's just the boon. There's the universal "thunder" noise that plays once a boon is lit, and if the killer hears that, then hears the noise notifications, then the boon noise, unless they can't put two and two together that's pretty much a perk slot wasted. You wouldn't even have to snuff the boon. One niche use I could think of is failing a skill check against freddy in the boon area? Overall though, It's a creative concept and I commend you for posting your idea.

I agree it certainly wouldn't be the in the realms of being a strong perk but as you say, in certain situations like Freddy, impossible skill check Doc and Coulrophobia it could be used to throw off the killer as well as in chase it may lead to making it seem fast vaults have occurred when line of sight is lost if scratch marks aren't easy to track.
Also, I have thought about a similar Hex perk idea (probably too weak though) as a flip side to this boon idea - a hex that copies the Doctors illusion ability but obviously for any killer. It would be amazing if the illusions looked like they were moving around the map to make them believable but I don't know how possible it would be technically

I agree, there is opportunity for niche value in there.
As for your hex idea, also love it, but I can only imagine the bugs if this was actually implemented. Say there wasn't bugs, this would actually be pretty useful to throw off checkspots and mindgames (assuming the illusion is near you while in chase).

its just a bunch of trolls who too chicken to say something and using it maliciously so they gonna abuse this button even though you said a simple and thought out idea until its HOPEFULLY gone. Overall not a bad perk idea at all.

It's true and for this reason I'd suggest a larger range than existing Boon perks although players with good totem spawn knowledge may still find it easily as is the nature of totem perks. If the noises are enough to distract your opponent so they waste valuable time hunting your totem then there's value in it

Yeah, it's normally the case. I don't mind if it's for a little laugh on a silly post, but I really did post my idea taking into consideration both sides of the player base so it can be a little disheartening when down voted before anyone even said anything. Thankfully I've had some excellent feedback now so I'm no longer bothered 🙂 and thank you too
