My opinion why the upcoming "Go Next" penalty should not exist
- First of all, poor servers that put us on servers with ping 100+ when we usually have 40 ping
- When killer uses VPN (100-150+ms) to gain an advantage (unfair hits from miles)
- When bugs appear in the game that give advantages to killers (bugged power, perks, addons and etc)
- When the outcome of the match is already clear, that is, one survivor was tunneled out at 4-5 gens
- When you sacrifice yourself to give your teammate a hatch
- When the killer abuses the map offering for an advantage, for example uses addons for auras and stealth (usually it's GF, Myers, Pig)
Just make it so that you can surrender in such situations and that's it, you can even make it possible to surrender when 3 survivors are slugged too

The whole "Go next" thing is just a bad idea to begin with. It doesnt fix anything but puts player into situations they clearly dont want to play out (and i am not talking about those pity people that kill themself for no reason). Bhvr need to realize that they have to fix the underlying issues and not just some pseudo-issue.

Surrender options are awful, you only have to look at a game like League of Legends to see why they suck.
Doesn't matter which side you're on, if you add surrender options what ends up happening is you very rarely play a game out. 90% of games results in either your side quitting, or the opponents quitting.
It makes it feel like you never actually win a game, cause the only experiences you tend to have are losing, or your opponent quitting.
Not to be a jerk, but while reading this list, it basically means "reasons I should be allowed to quit and go next". To answer each point: -
- Poor server connection goes both ways, and can affect anyone. Killer can get robbed of hits due to grabs and weirdness at vaults, and also from aim dressing messing up due to dodgy connections. So both sides are affected by this, and just cause one survivors connection is bad is no reason Survivors should be allowed to go next and throw the game for the rest of their team.
- Fair enough, but this is a legitimate issue to be addressed, just falling back to "let us go next" is not a solution.
- Bugs are bugs, and again appear for both sides, such as survivors hiding in walls or lockers. Severely agregious bugs result in killswitches, as has occured for many killers. There is no reason Survivors should be allowed to go next and throw the game for the rest of their team because of a minor bug.
- If a survivor has been tunneled out, what have survivors been doing to not get at least 2 or 3 gens done? Unless someone has literally been unhooking them within 20s repeatedly and feeding them to the killer. What if the Killer was allowed to just go next when survivors take 4 gens for 1 hook? Would that be fine? We're in the same scenario as described above where neither side will get to experience a win most of the time.
- Not seen any communications this is being targeted. The fact the 4%, and missing 2 skillchecks to die haven't been toted for removal indicates this isn't a thing. Trying to unhook yourself when there is one player left, and if you fail dying since that player likely can't save you is perfectly reasonable... when else would either feature be used if they're not gonna be removed?
- Same applies for both sides again, and survivors are far more common for taking map offerings to abuse strong main buildings or certain perk combos to make things difficult for the killer. Why should a survivor be allowed to Go Next and throw the game when the only reason map offerings are used is because otherwise these builds often don't/barely function? Is it OK for the killer to immediately Go Next because its Garden of Joy, Mount Ormond of Eyrie of Crows? Map offerings are also being nerfed considerably, so this makes no sense as an argument.
As I say, not being jerk, but there seems an awful lot of double standard here, and I don't joke about surrender ruining games. Yes DBD has extreme highs and extreme lows... but if you want to become completely apathetic about the whole thing, allow 90% of your games to end in surrender and see if you still care to play.
The surrender option when the whole team is slugged is reasonable, but any more than that should be added with great trepidation.

So true my dear, those upcoming changes only killer sided and it feels prison condition for survivors - like you have to play that match no matter or you will be punished
-4 -
Abusing bugs and ping, that's a good reason to avoid the match. But it sometimes happens unintentionally.
Map offerings are getting nerfed so...
Tunneling is also getting nerfed in Phase 2.
I don't get the doom and gloom around these changes, especially now, since we don't even know what will they do.
The Anti-Go-Next change will be an improvement, imo. I hate that people can just throw a hissy fit the second something doesn't go their way AND get away unpunished.

With how many games I've seen thrown by a survivor throwing a hissy fit over literally nothing and going next to the ruin of the match for everybody else, it absolutely should exist.

the post looks like a prison warden :)

It's better to just improve the surrender optionand that's it, all these punishments are not needed, because such a harsh punishment will make the role of a survivor unattractive and the player base will decrease, don't forget that dbd is a semi-casual game and you are turning it into some kind of e-sport with a ton of punishments (like dc penalty being few days if someone dc-ed a lot)
-3 -
If you feel so oppressed and imprisoned in this game, why are you still playing?
No one is forcing you to play.
6 -
Have I made a point you can actually refute?
Majority of the examples you've described here are just as applicable to killer, and I don't have reason to believe you're a "one rule for me, one rule for everyone else" type, so I assume you'd allow the killer to surrender for these same reasons. Right?
So I ask, how would you enjoy DBD if every game saw every killer quit when they got aim dressed or spin teched? Quit when they can't catch a survivor who had used a bugged perk to deny a hit or block a hook? When they've been looped for 2 minutes and not gotten a down? When they get a map or a perk used against them they don't like?
As I said, every game you're winning, the opponent quits, every game you're losing, your teammates quit. That is what happens in every game with a surrender option, and it's stops you from caring about the game at all.
Yes DBD is annoying at times, but it's also highly rewarding when you succeed, and I'd rather take a game that annoys me time to time than a game where I'm completely apathetic cause every one just quits all the time.

I'm all for them working out ways to reduce people just going next but I'm against any system that try to interpret your intentions and slaps a penalty on you if it thinks you are doing wrong. I think a good case in point is survivors getting hit with a penalty when hackers get in an kill everyone right at the start.
Hopefully it will be a case of you need to do it a certain amount of times in a row for it to trigger. That way it will be less likely to impact innocent players.

Exactly I forgot to mention cheaters too, I don't wanna play against cheating killer too and I just go next and if it's punishes me then I only play killer then

At the very least, they should hold off the go-next prevention until phase 2, and move up the anti-tunnel/camp/slug stuff to phase 1. There should be less giving up with those measures in place. Or if "going next" is still rampant, this will at least narrow down the reasons.
2 -
Very true my dear, makes no sense to add go next prevention when those dirty playstyles exists, plus cheaters and vpn-ing killers ruins my fun
-1 -
People tend to forget that killers get to play ALL the match, while survivors might die 2 or 3 minutes in. this makes it awful for the other survivors to play and the dead survivors might have to wait for a friend still playing the match, which is not fun. i get that killers have their fair share of problems, but that's more on the mmr and the core of the game than on the survivors. you could say the same for the survivor side and their problems, but killer's have far more power on the survivor experience than what some people think and if these people played with fairness in mind, instead of trying to win at all costs, maybe they wouldn't focus so much on the matches they lose because of a skill issue and they could have fun playing like a normal person.

Yeah killers can hold us hostage, slug us, torture us, hump us and they are still whining here, thanks to them they are changing maps, spawn rules, going next prevention
-4 -
Poor survivors... It doesn't even seem like they just need to hold m1 on the generator and pre-drop pallets to win matches against most killers...Really, survivor needs more buffs, the buffs they got in the last few years are still lacking.
1 -
And? Gonna whine that we can hold m1? Don't forget to mention "gen rush" either which is the only thing that progresses the game. So if match is doomed we shouldn't be punished for trying to go next, also we shouldn't spawn together since it will make lethal pursuer even more stronger combined with fast killer. Map offerings should stay the same, bhvr can just balance those maps, if not, then having sac ward in bloodweb makes no sense

Killing is also the killer's objective, so I don't know why people complain so much about tunneling. If the match isn't over, you should be punished for wanting to go next. If you don't want to play the game, don't enter the game. Survivors spawning separately has always been one of the biggest problems in this game and it does need a solution, this gives a huge advantage at the beginning of the match .And I agree that the best option was to balance the maps, but since this is not and never was a priority for BHV, then it's better to change the offering.
