Reshade is now banned?!

These games are banned by Reshade : r/ReShade
Reshade announced a new list of games that reshade will no longer install into and dead by daylight is on that list.
Are they banning for this now? Why?

As you know, the game is widely known for the dark colors used on various maps, making the game sometimes almost unplayable. So, knowing that Reshade.me is whitelisted by bhvr, I wanted to install it for the quality of life that it gives. But the app gives me this error: "The target application is known to have blocked or banned the usage of ReShade. Cannot continue installation". Did bhvr ban it overnight, or is it just an error that I can't find anything about online?

This explains why I can't even update it.

I guess now that they're incorporating Gamma selection which can be used to lighten/darken based on external screen environments/eyesight's, and they have colorblind accessibility, there really isn't too much reason to permit an external 3rd party program that could highlight specific hues (such as scratch marks, blood) or offer certain contrasts that would give a competitive advantage.

Can I get banned for using reshade now?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, this is something that we're currently discussing with our partners, we should be able to update you shortly - want to confirm that nobody is being banned for using Reshade however

Thank God. 🙏

Thank you

I hope it is banned, many people really think that reshade is just visual but does not offer a competitive advantage, which is a big lie because there are settings that highlight the killer's Red light well, making it easier to see and respond.

Please consider doing it, it is literally cheating.
People can use reshade to see things like the red glow through walls that they wouldn't be able to do otherwise. It gives an unfair advantage over those who do not, or cannot use it (console)

If it didn't offer an advantage, everyone in comp wouldn't be using it.

Relax, we will be receiving gamma settings to dbd, so you guys that plays on console can make the game brighter.

Seeing things through walls that normally you cannot =/= the game being a little brighter.

I've never seen anything through walls using reshade.

To be fair, if Gamma-Settings come to DBD there is no need for Reshade anymore. At least if it is true that it is only used to make the game brighter.

2 things.
- If you think it is not giving you an advantage over people who don't use it, why are you using it?
- You should watch the recentish tru3ta1ent video series where he tries it out. He played for a couple of days experimenting with different settings and he tweaked in a way that literally would just show the red glow through almost any wall.

I only used reshade to see in dark maps like borgo, midwich, etc, so gamma will help me on those maps.
3 -
So when gamma comes out you will uninstall it and not use it?
4 -
yes?

I'll hold you to that and DM you when it comes out and see.

Gamma settings aren’t going to change the fact that this game still doesn’t have good colorblind settings, and Reshade is sometimes being used to create colorblind settings.

According to the conversation in that reddit threat + DBD being crossed out on the list, it seems like it was some sort of mistake and it's back to how it used to be again now. Not that I really know for sure as I don't use it, but that's how I'm reading it anyway.
