Another thing that should let killers use the Surrender option
Killers should be able to surrender during endgame collapse, a lot of killers don't wanna bother trying during endgame collapse if they've had a bad game, there's also the fact of "Watch me leave" survivors sitting there and making the game last longer than it needs, obviously you can just force those ones out but sometimes a survivor will go hide just so they can let the timer almost run out and then leave so the killer can't find them and make the game drag. This could also fix issues with exploiters holding the game hostage by not letting the endgame collapse kill them.
And let's be honest both things currently planned to let the killer surrender for are very unlikely to happen so this would make the option even exist to killers.

Issue is there are survivor challenges that need EGC activated and it would be very annoying if killer could just surrender at any point.
I don't think surrender mechanic should be able to hinder with challenges. This definetly would unless they bring killer bots, but that would be boring.

I feel am this would lead to a lot of games just ending prematurely once a gate is open. Why wouldn't killers just close the match immediately in most situations? That wouldn't be very fun if we normalize instant game closer once a gate opens. Some of the most intense parts of a match is after a gate is opened. It would also lead to more gates being 99'd.

Just a general question: how many games do we actually want to END normally?
6 -
Preferably when surrender option is used in general, it just results in bots. It would ALSO suck if the game ended right before a killer could finish a mori challenge or something.

Well, it will never end for the killer, because survivors do get replaced and it is up to the killer to keep playing or leave, right?
When killer DC/surrenders the game just ends. But I really wouldn't want killer bots. It would be just boring imo.

With how they explained things, the killer has the option of leaving if theyre playing with only bot survivors. I'd imagine they could do the other way around too if they have a bot killer. They already had them for 2v8 if a killer DCed.

I love egc a lot of times it's the most interactive terrifying part of the match. You never know how it's gonna play out and it's always high energy. If they're teabagging then get the bloodpoints by hitting them out of the exit gates. I mean sometimes it's a little much especially when's it's undeserved, but those aren't the norm me. I'm a sole killer main not that it matters.

That's what I worry about this "When all survivors are slugged, they can surrender" thing. How long do they have to be slugged before the option pops up? Can I surrender as last survivor as soon as the killer downs me and no Mori for them? I really hope at the very least you are replaced by a bot so the killer can decide if they want to continue the game for challenges or whatever.

Strange, it never has been a real problem when survivor ruined killer challenges or achievements by early hook exits. /S

This is a strange sentiment. Using the surrender option should be rare, not something we look for reasons to use.

no.
thanks

EDIT: /S!!! I suck, my bad that man, carry on.
You say that, but then there is Evil Incarnate and sacrifice all 4 survivors in basement... also sacrifice 2 survivors during EGC in a single game...
Those are pretty dire if Survivors try to deny them... I'd call that a problem.
2 -
I consider that a problem… They are trying to work on "go next" feature.
BTW what challenge does it ruin anyway, if 1 survivors give up?
1 -
To be honest not sure anymore. Haven't played in years now but iirc there were dailies and tome challenges where the killer would need to down/hit all 4 survivors with their powers.
Also achievements like adapt or evil incarnate (thanks @UndeddJester, it's all cool 😜) get ruined all the time by go next mentality, or at least that was the case when I played, I know they changed killer adapt in some form.

No.
Lol, "I lost the game can I just exit and not get penalized?"
You're unwillingness to push survivors out because you cant stand the cntrl button is not what the upcoming surrender option is for.2 -
Adepts need to kill, so it doesn't apply anymore.
Evil Incarnate, you are not going to hook anyway for it and survivors going into lockers is simply logical counterplay, not really petty way to ruin achievement.

Then simply make it so the challenges trigger anyway, and this form of escape counts for the cheevo. Problem solved.
Nobody wants to watch sore winners rub salt in the wounds for 2 minutes, it's the exact same as Killers shuffling over four downed Survivors for four minutes, the same exact intent. I'm sick of pretending it's not.0 -
Make this 30 seconds after exit gates open and I agree. Survivors should still be able to get the escape.
I feel like this is what should obviously be happening and after the last patch announcement I really expected a BHVR announcement that said 'oh, surrender results in bots just taking the place'.
I hope that ends up being the situation for most of their scenarios.

How do you want to trigger unhook X survivors during EGC for example?

I would rather such challenges be abolished and replaced with something more functional and fun than that.
I believe adepts need another overhaul as well.0 -
The killer should be able to surrender after 7-8 minutes from the start of the match.
There are often situations when cheaters hold murderers hostage. The killer has 2 options: either wait an hour for the match to end automatically, or exit the match and receive a penalty for disconnection.
In 7-8 minutes, the killer can decide whether it makes sense to continue the match.
