Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Requesting fun Trapper builds

Hello everyone 😊

I’m having a difficult time thinking of different Trapper builds. Can you all help me?

What are you best Trapper builds? What are some of the different playstyles you use for him?

I’m very curious because I love how he creates anxiety and paranoia during the match.

I don’t care about the 4k or anything so meta builds won’t be necessary. I’m just looking for a playstyle that offers an exciting experience for the Survivors.

Zoomies is always fun! and it doesnt have to be an entire build centered around it either. Batteries Included and Noed, and then Coffee Grounds (Applies an addtional 5% haste when setting a trap) and I usually like to pair that with Fastening Tools so I dont lose too much distance. So 115% (Base Movement) + 5% (Batteries Included) + 4% (Hex: No One Escapes Death) + 12.5% (Setting Trap w/Coffee Grounds) = 136.5% movement speed! (For 5 seconds anyway... but still fast!)

Another build is taking a page right out of Otzdarvas shenanigans... and thats the Goalie Trapper. Remember Me, No Way Out, NOED, and a perk of your choice. Add ons are Iridescent Stone and Secondary Coil, (Tension Spring could theoretically work as well, havent tried it yet though) The plan is to open an exit gate the moment the last gen pops, and make it so the other gate is basically impossible to open before the timer runs out. So theyre other option is going through you which is a bit difficult since you have NOED.. and you can set up some traps near the gate (some indoor maps are particularly nasty) to some times block off entrances. I havent played this build in a very long time because Ive been putting a lot of time into Trickster lately, but Ive always had fun running it :)

    My Trapper Build is

    • Lightborn
    • Brutal Strength
    • Corrupt Intervention
    • Monitor and Abuse

I like to place random traps in the grass or in hallways. Not at pallets, because people expect them there.

Monitor and Abuse is such a slept on perk. It's shocking to me how much closer I can approach Survivors working on generators. I actually use Monitor and Abuse on just about everyone except Wraith and Onyro.

I even get a lot of value with it on Huntress despite her Lullaby.

For add-ons I go with the setting a trap is silent brown and the green one that makes the traps harder to see. I love playing Trapper.

I have this mentality that traps shut pallet loops down but you’re right, it’s way too predictable. Okay so patches of grass really do work I see.

I also see that you’re recommending me a stealth based Trapper. How fun! Thanks for the build 😊

I wear his circus onesie with the Slipknot mask and play him without setting traps. A pure M1 killer in a cursed outfit.

Devour hope, Trail of tourment, Dragons grip and monitor & abuse or undying with both iris. Additionally I would use a Lerry’s offering, because there the totem spawns are better.

All you have to do is protecting the side your totem is on (especially the totem) while trying to reach the 5 stacks. This build is fun with devour.

    I rather like: -

    • Bloody Coil
    • Trapper's Bag
    • Hysteria
    • Deathbound
    • Corrupt Intervention
    • Free Choice (Nowhere to Hide or Barbeque and Chilli maybe?)

Fun! I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for the build 😊

Deathbound and Hysteria sound fun to use together. Especially since Trapper can damage Survivors from across the map. Thank you for chiming in and sharing the build 😊

You can disable my traps… but you won't see me coming 😈

    No worries ^^
Was a bit of a rush post, but yeah, you get the idea, it makes it so that disabling your traps is actually not at all a bad thing for Trapper, and because you keep sowing Oblivious, it makes it harder for people to track where you're setting them.

You can of course also take the Iridescent Stone instead of Trapper's Bag to have more traps up for people to break… I just love the flexibility and quicker start that Trapper's Bag brings.

    Sneaky Trapper is fun ^^

There is a crazy end game Trapper build where you just kill everyone, with Game Afoot and Rancor switching obsession and mori them. I think the build is Game Afoot, Rancor, No Way Out, Remember Me and then trap exit gates using Iri stone and Secondary Coil addon.

Demi's impossible totem build! You can watch his video on YT for more insight on how the build works, but essentially: Hex: Face the Darkness, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Hex: Pentimento and Hex: Plaything. Iridescent Stone is pretty much a must, and you can add Secondary Coil. You place the traps in front of the totems and they can never get to cleanse them because they will scream due to Face the Darkness (you have to make sure that it's always active), interrupting them before they can cleanse them due to how long it takes to do so with Thrill of the Hunt in the background. The traps set themselves open so that you don't need to manually reset them each time and because if they do so when a survivor is doing a totem they can even catch them when they scream. Not to mention that they give you some extra time to get to the totem yourself and catch the survivor. Pentimento is there for extra spice in case they decide to go for dull totems to tone down Thrill.

But you should watch the video because Demi explains it a lot better than I and it's been a while since I watched the video so I might be forgetting some stuff lol.

I quite like a totem build on him as he is one that can defend them with traps. Otherwise it's normally pretty basic with Brutal Strength, Save The Best for Last, Oppression and Nowhere to Hide

    My favorite Trapper build is

Brutal Strength, Fire Up, Save the best for Last, Rapid Brutality

    with those addons.

    Coffee Grounds, Fastening Tools

I like going fast and stay unpredictable. Sometimes it fails horribly but when it works it's really satisfying.

Oh my this is another evil build. This may be a little bit too evil even for me…

… Okay I’m over it. 🤣 Can’t wait to watch the video and try out the build. Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone 🙏😊

Is it the build that @TotemsCleanser mentioned? I won’t lie, it will be one of the first ones I use lol

Also, thank you for the basic build, I’m always open to trying new playstyles 😄

I got to this too late but maybe you’re lurking. Thank you for the build. I’m seeing variations on creating Trapper to be some kind of juggernaut.

I’ll give it a try, thank you 🙏

    That was fun 😄

Unforseen and Hysteria are so mean together. Sloppy Butcher with Insidious is a combo I never would have tried. Thank you for the recommendation 😊
