I really dislike how the new black background on the chatbox in the lobby obstructs your character. I understand that it's supposed to make it easier to see the text but I think there are better ways of doing this without having this big black square blocking the view of your character.

I know we can just hide the box with the button but then if a teammate types you have no way of knowing. Here are 3 simple suggestions to fix this.

1. Instead of forcing the black bg on everyone, give us an option in settings to choose between the old transparent background or the new one.

2. Or when the chatbox is hidden and another player types in chat, a little exclamation mark notification appears on the chat icon to notify you.

3. Or similarly to how the old chatbox functioned, the bg is transparent by default but when you click your cursor in the message box the background becomes dark and more legible. And when you click off of it, it becomes transparent again.
