So who asked for a Second Eyrie?

Member Posts: 1,601

When the main complaint was the map in general..

When are we gunna finally drop the Second map syndrom and just Nerf the damn size and brightness of the map in the first place WITHOUT having a Second variation to the mix,

We got enough of that with 2 different Macs in the first place and 5 different badhams, Don't need another Map Varient.

They actually nerfed Eyrie by nerfing the mainbuilding window and making all tiles a bit smaller so it is more a play around for both sides instead of a safe pallet for survivors. Overall, the map feels much better.

But they just added a boring Shack based map on top of it. I don't understand why they did this and wish they would remove it and never comeback with the idea. FNAF alongside the big new playerbase is right around the corner and I am really afraid that many players will just leave once they see the unnecessary amount of things they have to learn. Yes, unnecessary because we already have enough maps at the moment and I rather wish the developers would focus on fixing the extreme unbalanced maps instead of adding new maps to the game. Garden Of Joy is still an awful map and instead of spending time for a new Eyrie map, they could have spend the time in fixing the GoJ mainbuilding or looking at a map with unreliable pallet spawns like Haddonfield and fix this. Or spend the time in fixing the brightness of the map and making footsteps sounds better to hear.

I'm still baffled with the fact that everyone and their mother didn't complain about Eyrie enough and didn't bother to comment "We don't want a second Variation. we just want the actual map Nerfed in terms of literal brightness and loop-wise"

It still gunna be strong as all hell even post-nerf. Like they're just pulling a GoJ and "Slightly" Nerf it, 100%

It has to become a thing of "No more 2nd map Variation. Nerf it so other killers have a Chance. not just S Tiers / A tiers even,"

….Oh and still waiting for Swamp Rework,

That would've been preferable. Nobody likes playing on that map as killer. It's why survivors always put up offerings for it. So instead of nerfing it, which it's already been downsized btw (that's how ridiculous it is), they just add another variant which will probably feature just as bad tile design.

I'm for maps of the same realm that are actually different. Like some of you may not know this, but Garden of Joy is in the same realm as Unknown's theater map. You'd never know it unless you read it, or saw that the map offering brings you to both. I'm fine with stuff like the Coldwind variants, where there's a different main building and other characteristics for each iteration. But I prefer more varied looking maps.

It was a quick fix so crows eye isn't a good for survivors. Made a map killers are better on so they can take time with an eyrie rework.

Most of the map problems come from the color in my eyes so if they just redesign that it would be about better

  • Member Posts: 1,601

Them redesigning it to help our eyes is gunna take atleast 5 years give or take…

i'd rather be on the Fishbowl map. and that map already is terrible as is,

No… Not really. that's bad map design in general if you need another Variant instead of FIXING the Original,

it should never have to come down to adding bandage maps to the already terrible one just because it handholds survivors.. that's just a horrible mindset to have in general to continue addin' Variants,

Now if it's different Realms. then fine, But it's recycled to the Same Brightass map that nobody likes.

With the changing of map offerings soon, is this not redundant?

Sure, Erie is one of my most disliked realms right now besides Azarovs and Nostromo but it's only a bother because people premeditate the Crows Eye. If we just go there it's no big deal.

I would rather see Azarov's burned hella more than any other map in this game, atleast with those maps it's Balanced to a Degree, not Eyrie.

And it still won't be Redundant due to now pushing Main to be Better than the "Pre-Nerf". Survivors will want to go to it even more due to the New Balance off Main and hold w somewhere else,

Probably who ever asked for four other variants of Badham; nobody.

I will write my feedback to the new maps in the PTB Feedback forum when I revisit the map tomorrow, but I guess the main issue is this is a PTB and we need to wait how the new Eyrie plays on the live servers. Everyone is also more hyped for the new killer and is testing him more than Eyrie/the focus is on him and how he can slide.

From my PTB view, the biggest issue is how strong the mainbuilding becomes with Balance Landing - yes before it was also good but now it is much easier. The other window that is still the same, is still problematic since survivors can make good distance on it. I also don't like the fact that killers have to break the walls to make it easier. In my opinion, the mainbuilding is still strong and not balanced. Then - but this is a general opinion -, the shack window should always face the edge of the map to avoid unhealthy connections (Garden of Joy and Ormond Lake Mine Shacks have this and it makes everything healthy). But I like the fact that the developers added a new rock tile with lockers, which is nice, however, the map needs more lockers as it would help both sides. Lastly, of cause the brightness is still an issue. The new shack map also have their own issue but more for survivors, however, still not okay.

I highly doubt that the shack version is their way to balance the game (one map better for survivors and the other better for killers). According to leakers, in the PTB gamefiles are information for a shack version of Toba Landing and Saloon. In my opinion, both maps are the most balanced ones in the game while still having a unique design - of cause they have some issues but not as big or many like Eyrie, Badham, or Haddonfield.

I really would like to know why they add shack versions of some maps because I don't see the point in it.

With the new Balconies added to the Main.. it's gunna make holding W more hell. and Balance Landing gunna come in handy when you can just leave main gen alone and force the Killer to make or break that gen,

And in worse cases Scenario. the Breakable doors (Unless you got bam bam) Are even more worse now due to the fact you still waste time just breakin' it instead of chasing, i wished they just remove those Walls at that point and just make a classic doorway..

…Also to add onto the Shack Version comment, Idk why they like to do it. it's weird.. just like with the double Variations of maps or even copying the same map 5 times. i don't like it…

I always wonder why there are 5 different kindergarten patterns, 2 different ormonds, etc.

I don't play enough to know all the structures of the maps, so every time I do a ritual on the target map, the structure is different and confusing.

Frankly, there are too many maps to even try to remember the structure of the maps.
