The Future!

Hello yall!

I wanted to talk about the future of dbd, more specifically what would you'd either like to see or what you think will happen, wanted to see what people possibly think may happen or what dreams could come true.

I personally hope for more new modes like that 5v5 which sounded very interesting.

Of course other things too, I'd like a deathslinger addon pass because wow I've never seen more generic addons more that Mr caleb, well maybe pyramid head.

What yall think?

sometimes I think about a mode that combines all maps and once a match ends you move to the next realm.

Ie killer wins they spawn with another killer and their survivors left or if survivor wins they spawn in the next realm and add to the pool, last side left standing wins. Like a grid that just closes in on itself essentially and you can’t cross over until one sides objectives are complete.

What I want ? A lot of new mechanics that aren’t tied to a killer or perks. Some fun ones like being able to play piano on midwich, new types of vaults and looping mechanics and more. A Sadako buff would be awesome as well.

What I think they will do? Buff/ nerf things, add new killers/perks/maps/modes/events. No new permanent mechanics.

I want the devs to take controversials ideas and test them out as game modes. Not so they can exist alongside the main mode, but so they can be implemented into the core game. Build modes to test certain questions. What would happen if this game had a mode with the CoD style points system suggested by Choy? What would happen if players had access to five or six perk slots?

I want more things to spice up the regular mode. Things have felt kind of stale for a while now, at least for me.

Deceivers sounds like Among Us, but in DBD. That would have been a very cool mode.
An impostor survivor that could do anything the others do, but also have the ability to kill another.

Swapped perspective also sounds like a ton of fun. It would really bring the horror back to DBD, if you could play Survivor in first-person, not knowing exactly when the killer was on your back. Though, if Chucky got a swapped perspective too, wouldn't he also be in first-person as well :D

Luck of the Draw sounds like an improved iteration of Chaos Shuffle, since items/add-ons are also randomized.

Hide and Seek has been a highly wanted mode in the DBD community.

Giants is essentially what became "My Little Oni". - but what if we got a role reversal, where the survivors became huge, and the killers tiny :D

5v5 mode sounds like fun. What if the killer on team 1 had to prevent the survivors on team 2 to complete the generators, and vice versa. Using the 2v8 maps as a base for the mode, the first team to get 5 generators done would win, or if one team's killer gets all of the other team's survivors before that.

Why I thought 5v5 would be interesting, a set time to attempt to pressure the other team to lean more time towards your team to win.

Kinda like overwatch experimental mode, I would love to see this implemented so everyone can try it and comment on it which could lead to new implementation of the core game

I've been hoping for a 5v5. The additional details they gave about it made it sound not quite like what I'd want, but still a very interesting mode.

    Like to see:

Lobby loadout: I want to see everyone's perks on my team.
Communication tool: either a smart wheel callout system or comms.

You say you want to bridge the gap between swf and soloQ behavior? This is the only way to do it.

I think the only thing I care about right now is improvements for solo queue. The game is so ridiculously unfun right now for solo players. I don't even care about players going next, because I completely understand why they do it. The stars have to align for a solo survivor game to be fun. It's the exception, not the rule.

You need matchmaking to not put you in a 10 minute cutscene of a trial, and you need the killer player to have a shred of empathy to not turn the game into a complete slog. I have stronger thoughts about the problem, but I'll just say that I don't see this as a both sides issue.

I'm mainly just frustrated and sad at the state of solo queue. It's stupid and there's no reason for it to be this bad. Take the layups and make some common sense changes with matchmaking and basekit Kindred. My passion for the game is completely gone and I can barely stand 2 or 3 games per week now.

I wish for Pigs RBT to return in the lobby. It has been missing for years without any response from the devs.

That's what I am hoping for with this big operation health, this period of the game is so important because of fnaf that's just around the corner so if they want to keep the new peeps joing the fog they must fix the experience of soloQ or atleast improve it.

Definitely. Though it could have been fair if the survivor players could hold down a key to look back while running. Similar to how it works in survival games like Rust, or in BR's like PUBG, where you can hold down the ALT key to look over your shoulder while running forward. That way, you had the option to gauge how close the killer was.

But yes, first-person survivor mode would be incredibly scary to play, and I am sure I would have loved it

I'd like everyone who teabags at the exit gate to have their fingers broken in a hydraulic press

Oh great idea! Yeah I really like this!

When new killers are released, I hope their powers aren’t designed to neutralize loops. Instead, I'd love to see abilities that encourage killers to engage with loops in creative and strategic ways. For example, characters like The Unknown can bypass loops entirely, which feels like missed potential. Killer powers should make the game enjoyable for both killers and survivors. An easy 5-gen closeout isn't satisfying or fun for anyone.

I'm quite surprised this hasn't been implemented for a game that requires more looking back than you'd think, absolutely great idea
