What if luck influenced insta downs (non timer based ones)

hear me out.

what if the luck stat influenced non timer based (so things like make your choice, myers evil within and haunted grounds are unaffected) insta down effects and the ability for them to only take away one health instead of two

so for example with vigos salty lips, you gain a chance (9% i believe?) to avoid billys insta down from his chainsaw/noed/devour hope, and instead have it only take away a single health state (healthy -> injured -> dying)

this would buff luck considerably and while values could deffinately be tweaked around this, it would make perks like up the ante considerably better.

you could also make killer offerings that decrease luck by 50% and 100% or whatever :)

Edit: Or just have up the ante effect insta downs by giving you a small chance to avoid them

Those are not "insta downs". They are "strong attacks" that take 2 health states.

Anyway I don't think adding RNG is going to be healthy for the game

We already have rng, in the form of chests, hook escapes etc. this would just add an extra element of it for specific builds i suppose

I already hate the 4% enough so no pls don't do it. I already have 4 survivors hooked and they all manage to 4% off the hook so oh god no. Just leave rng alone I feel like hook escapes are one thing but being able to avoid insta downs via rng would be annoying on the receiving end depending on what we are talking about.

the 4% isin't exactly a 4% though you know that? i mean your getting a 4% chance 3 times, but i digress. it would atleast make luck items viable.

we are talking about one use offerings and one perk here

hell i even say decrease the luck % that the offering gives haha

    3 times 4% is 19%. On 4 survivors that's 102%. Each survivor can do it 3 times so that's 518%.

The rng is rigged in survivor's favor

Although I don't think this idea is feasible, I do think that luck should be more useful.

3x4 = 12??? also the way it stacks in dbd actuallly makes the chance closer to 11.5% i believe.

    11.5% x 4 = 46%

    your logic is rigged mate.

plus thats per survivor again, which isin't technically multiplicative since their independant chances.

    4, 11.5%s does not even equal a 46%

though it does get really high when you take into account that potentially 4 players can bring in both vigos salty lips and up the ante. 18% extra for all players, for their individual chances

    4+18= 22% for a single luck chance

maybe the solution is to add a luck cap, but an easier way to reach the cap - ie the cap could be maybe 15-20% luck, but up the ante or offerings add more.

Luck should be buffed but not in this way.

For the most part you wouldn't have to pray.

Unless the survivor was running a specific build or was burning rare offerings your hits would register like normal mate. Besides like I've already stated the max chance a solo survivor would get is 9-18% and while I think that's a bit much and should be nerfed in relation to this concept, I do think at least having a small chance (whether based on perks or specific offerings) would be cool. Also do not forget, it would still act as a hit, just not a hit to the dying state.

That would just be a way of nerfing killers, so no.

In general, I'm not a fan of making luck a more important factor of the game. Let skill decide, not luck.

This would make luck way to powerful.

Just bad luck on an important attack would change the entire momentum of the match.

    Big NONO.
