Xeno tail burf
I was opposed to adjusting the tail to be easier to react on principle, but reading the changes myself I thought…is this even really a nerf? Could this not in some ways be better?
Dusting off the ol Xeno Queenie i cant help but feel that my suspicions were correct, at least I humbly think so.
Xeno is all about anticipating each other. If you know what the survivor is going to do, you can queue your tail attack and basically pre fire around corners better.
I'm actually digging being able to attack survivors before they vault. Technically, the survivor had more time to react, so you'd think queueing the tail would be bad but the longer time does also allow you to adjust slightly.
Tl;dr i hate stabbing walls, new change let's me stab survivors while looking at wall

Now if they'd stop forcing us into Crawler Mode, I'd actually play the Killer.. Chasing Survivors while being on all fours is really stupid due to how slow the Alien moves in DBD. It works in games like AVP because you move at lightning speed, but in this game, Crawler Mode has felt like ass since release. Let us decide when we want to crawl.. Not allowing us to use Crawler Mode when we want to completely erases freedom of choice with how this Killers power works..
You just know when the power is almost ready, you'll be forced into Crawler Mode, even if you didn't want to use it..

Now I'm almost afraid to ask since ive played this killer a lot...do they slow down entering crawler mode?

No, you are just harder to see and get a smaller terror radius. And obviously the tail attack.
So you get only buffs.

"Only buffs" when the attack takes longer, making it even more reactable.

Yeah, that's technically a nerf. Maybe I am "coping" but I feel like the nerf is net neutral at worst, all things considered. The new wind up feels better when hugging walls going around sharp turns. I feel like I don't need direct LOS as much as before. But maybe I'm tripping

I just hate being forced into it. It's unnecessary. Let me decide when to crawl.. :/ Player choice should always take precedent over Killer Power as we are controlling the Killer are we not? The way Alien's power works currently controls us, which is backwards as all hell. Even if it just visually throws someone off in that moment, it's annoying and shouldn't be a thing.
That'd be like if you played Oni and as soon as he gathered enough blood the power forces you to use it.. Oni isn't like that so why does Alien have to be?

No. We are talking about the transition from two-leg-mode to crawler-mode. That has nothing to do with the last patch.

Well I brought up the forced Crawler Mode switch annoyance as I make sure to bring it up anytime I get the chance. I just don't see the point of making us switch. Always thought it should be a choice.

I think its to not confuse newer players.
Survivors get the info if the tail attack is ready and whether it makes sense to loop to flame turrets. If you could switch they wouldnt know if you are on cooldown. There would be some other options like with oni.
Killers have one less button and understand that (from a meta viewpoint), they should always be in crawler mode.

Compared to chasing in m1 with a bigger tr and a big character model, yes. I'd say that crawler mode only gives buffs.

What is the downside to crawler mode?

Your POV is lower which makes it harder to see survivors and you can lose your power faster

I hate the lower POV for sure.. Maybe if they kept it the same it wouldn't bother me as much, but it is very noticeable.

Me too. It’s the same as with Sadako where I don’t see anything on maps with higher gras.

But compared to normal m1-mode you have a power at all.
I agree with the pov. Although i never had any issues with seeing or hitting survivors.

I've since played as Xenomorph, and I have to agree it's an overall buff. He feels way smoother. Tail feels straighter and easier to control. I just hope that the longer start-up doesn't make it automatically trumpable by good dodging survivors.
