Taking away the ghoul cosmetic
"Hey, want to buy a new character? Here look you already have a cool new skin for him on your account you can use. Oh you bought him? Well, if you want to use the skin we literally said you 'owned' you now need to pay 10 more euros. No refunds btw."
How is this okay? It literally said "Owned" on the skin in the shop, where you also buy the character. This like if a store offers me a buy 2 get 1 free promo and then after the transaction is finished they take the third item back and put it on the shelves.
"You should have know it was a bug" How? I never saw them publicly acknowledge it. They have multiple ingame notification system, nothing. I made a post on the forums, all responses where inofficial from community members, nothing from community managers or devs. I checked Known-Issues, nothing. I checked their reddit account, nothing. I checked the twitter account, nothing. They made no effort to communicate it was a bug.
"You should have known you didn't buy it." Or maybe a player might assumed that BHVR gave out a free skin with the character drop? You know if they are a new player or if they remember when BHVR randomly gave everybody the anniversary crowns or Feng Mins 2018 Lunar New Year shirt. Its not completely unreasonable, you still had to buy the character so they would still make money from it. Also, even if you magically knew it was meant to not be a free drop for everyone, there are so many skins you get from gifts, twitch drop, rifts, events, etc… maybe a player loses track of it and assumes they picked it up somewhere. I mean, the game says they have it and even if they checked everywhere there was no official source saying they shouldn't have it.

There is no scum in it they were never promised anywhere and you getting accidentally does not make you entitled of them.

lets just be clear. you mistakenly thought you owned something you didn't buy, bhvr fixed it because - again - you didn't buy it, and you're now mad that you don't own the thing that you didn't buy?
6 -
I mistakenly thought I owned it because the game told me I owned it, and the company behind the game made no attempt to correct it.
-6 -
If the game tells me I can use something if I pay real money, then I feel I should be entitled to it if I pay that real money, not an additional money barrier between it that wasn't shown before.
-3 -
They did better than an attempt to correct it - they successfully corrected it by taking it out of your inventory.
1 -
They did that AFTER I paid money to be able to use it.
-2 -
then contact support if they took away something you paid for. why didn't you start with that?
1 -
Except you did not pay anything of the skin.
4 -
I paid for the character after the game told me I would be able to use the skin.
-6 -
Then ask for refund if you are so upset.

Yeah its called a bug, you had access to a skin you shouldn't have.
They patched the bug, you can still play the character. There's nothing 'scummy' here.
2 -
They put content in the game that claimed people would get it from buying something else, and once the people bought that they put another paywall inbetween.
They could have said "Hey, everyone getting the Ghoul skin is a bug, we are working on fixing it, don't expect to keep it." But they didn't.
Imagine if they suddenly made it so you need to pay 2000 AC to play any killer but trapper and said "Oh, that was always meant to be this way. Not having to pay to play was a bug." Would you als be like: "Its not a big deal, you can still acess the perks of the killers you bought when you were under the false impression you could use the killers for free. Its not like you lost all your contents, and you can always pay money to use what you thought you had. They fixed a bug, there was nothing 'scummy' here."

No, because making killers 2k Auric and taken them off me is taking something I bought. And something that was advertised to be given to me in exchange for that purchase, outright and blatantly.
The skin a bug gave to you though, you didn't buy (the character is the same basic price as all the others) and wasn't advertised as anything other than what it is - a paid skin. If BHVR were intending to hand it out to you for free, they would've plastered that information everywhere in an attempt to get people to buy Kaneki out of excitement for a free, quality skin to use as an extra option.
I get that constructing a ridiculous what if scenario and pretending its at all analagous works at the best of times, but it isn't working out for you currently. Sorry.

I did that over a week ago. Still haven't heard anything back.

1. I mean the Killers wouldn't be taken off you, you just need to pay 2k cells to access them.
2. I was convinced to buy the character because I saw that the game said I would be able to use that skin for free. The game specifically told me I would be able to use that skin if I bought that character.
3. So now it's my fault for believing that what the game tells me is true, because I didn't go out of my way to intentionally look at ads?

They put content in the game that claimed people would get it from buying something else,
Where did they make this claim? Can you show it on their website?

Licensed skins and characters cost them money, you shouldn't expect to get any of them for free.

"The game specifically told me I would be able to use that skin if I bought that character"
I never saw that claim. Where did it say that?
1 -
It said I owned the cosmetic when I checked.
-1 -
The game claimed I would be able to do that by saying I owned the skin.
-1 -
This is a purchase skin menu, where does it say I own this character?
and how does it look for you?

It did say owned on release. I and others could literally equip and use the skin on release. They took away the skin from everyone again, so now you have to rebuy it so now it looks like yours. On release it said owned.
