This patch kills M1 Killers while insanely buffing SWF....Babysitter is now the new BT
Why?

BHVR is making preparations for FNAF chapters by completely neglecting balance and deciding to go fullon with turning dbd into horror fortnite with making stuff completely broken again.
A new dark age of dbd arises

I'm done. P100 ghostie main and been a supporter of dbd for years, but this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. I'm convinced they are just wanting to effectively retire no mobility m1 killers by making them so unappealing to playand instead focus on all killers moving forward having mobility in some form and then balance with that expectation. Uninstalling dbd today and not looking back.
I'm the "nice guy" kind of killer who doesn't tunnel and almost always gives last hatch. Sure there are other killers out there with dashes and all that, but frankly, it's not fun for survivors when they are getting pelted by these ridiculous killers who ignore the game balance like nurse\blight. Yes, I COULD just abandon the m1 killers I play and play nurse\ghoul\blight, but I'm not out to make the game into a miserable experience for the survivors, and facing those killers is exactly that. I always focused on the weaker killers to give people a break from the stress of the constant onslaughts of S tier killers. However, BHVR just simply doesn't allow the weak m1 killers to exist anymore - every single major patch has directly make their playing experience worse and worse. One less nice guy killer in DBD, now - being a nice guy killer is becoming more and more impossible. I reject the notion that I "must" tunnel or mass slug, but considering that the weaker m1 killers are clearly getting pushed out of being playable, I'm rejecting DBD itself. I'm not about to be a part of the problem and jump on the S-tier bandwagon making survivor play unfun.
EDIT- I'm just going to be retiring from killer. I'll probably stick around as a survivor player, but m1 no mobility killers are simply becoming less and less viable every patch.

Easy solution: do not tunnel.

M1's have always been in a bad spot but this takes the cake, might dip from dbd for a while due to this insane power gap between overly weak Perks/balanced Perks that overly buffed or nerfed and broken Perks & powers that just get stronger, I might return for the 9th anni/fnaf chapter but as of now, this is just completely unbalanced that I've ever seen the game in ever since i first started playing (which is year 1)

To be honest I am impressed how long this community is tolerating their BS and lack of action on literally every aspect of this game. It is astounding. To be fair I am kinda feeling sorry I bought the game but hey on the bright side I bought it for 6 euros so at least I did not waste too much money on it.

I am gonna bet the problem would be coming with the fact they can take hits and play agressively with anti tunnel perks and body block you is the real issue but oh well

Enjoy the break to be honest everytime I think of how I haven't touched the game in 2 months I just feel a sense of relief that I don't have to participate in the insanity that is the dev's logic in balancing. I am also kinda still mad that the only thing bringing them half their money is killers from other franchises and them not making more of their own killers.

Yup enjoy the break. I personally am enjoying never touching the game again it is my personal strike against this game developer's incompetence and lack of desire to do anything with their game. I am literally watching how other studios develop and improve their brand while respecting their customers and meanwhile on the other hand I watch how behaviour just ignores most of the community, make expensive dumb cosmetics that cost more than the game itself and dare to keep repeating the same dummy formula of getting other killers from somewhere else into their game cause that is the easy way to make money. I have gotten so tired of watching this that I JUST LOVE NOT PLAYING THIS GAME

doesnt matter if you tunnel or not you still get hit by it (same for shoulder the burdon)

babysitter was strong before no one used it

the issues is people will still not run it but complain about tunneling killers. The devs try to hand hold too much

Just for all the new players to leave within a week 💀

they want to make new player experience better by further buffing survivor role to make good SWF teams even better instead of making a better tutorial system, completely revamping tips and actually pushing some of the most well known survivor and killer guides to help those players.
We can already see that buffing surv role does literally nothing to improve new player experience, only gives those players expectations that they don't have to improve, game will just "take care of everything"

well yea people don't want to break from the meta even though pre buff babysitter was just otr with a speed buff w no grunts and blood

The killer, which could only move at 4.6 m/s, was virtually powerless against body blocks, flash grenades, and other obstructions by survivors released from their hooks. I always brought OTR when playing Survivor solo, but if Babysitter becomes a major perk outside of 4PT like BT used to be before it became a base kit, it may not be necessary.

How?
2 -
shoulder the burdon takes away a death hook even if you dont tunnel that person.
-1 -
How are you hit by Babysitter if you aren't tunnelling, though?
That's the only perk OP mentioned so it's the only perk we have to provide context for the discussion.
3 -
Can’t wait for fnaf fans to download the game and wonder why the guy that just got unhooked is never catchable for a solid 30 seconds
2 -
because a person can still bodyblock using babysitter? you do realize that babysitter is just otr with a speed boost right?
-1 -
It is not.
OTR increases the Endurance timer, which is what allows it to be used for bodyblocking so effectively.
Babysitter, by contrast, only provides some stealth elements and much higher Haste, which you could honestly argue makes it slightly harder to bodyblock since you'll be moving further ahead of the killer when you run.
Babysitter is not a perk you can use to bodyblock for any longer than the basekit duration, and it also makes it slightly harder to do because you move faster. It really truly doesn't make bodyblocking any easier, at MOST it just doesn't STOP you from bodyblocking with the basekit Endurance.

ah i was wrong i got it confused with borrowed time with the speed boost it is possible to take a little bit more advantage due to the speed boost since if the killer swings after the unhook you potentially can take the hit since you are faster and run away faster due to speed boost haste and weapon wipe

NO.

Exactly the problem. It was already a powerful anti-tunnel perk. If haste stacking was removed, this buff would have been warranted, but since it has stayed, babysitter has become incredibly powerful, especially when combined with other perks.

problem is...the buff wouldn't have been warranteed even if haste stacking was removed. Exactly because it was already a powerful perk.
0 -
If haste stacking was removed, babysitter would just be a 10% for 30s total, without the extra 10% for the first 10s. Being 120% for 10s then 110% for 20s means most killers would have a hard time keeping up, let alone if you use any other haste perks. Being only 110% for 30s means you're fast, sure, but you don't benefit from that initial guaranteed distance, which would mean borrowed time could arguably outclass it in the vast majority of scenarios. The total of 15% for 30s would've been okay as an anti-tunnel if it couldn't be stacked with any other haste.

I think I'm just going to retire from killer play and just go survivor for a while. It's disappointing, but BHVR has essentially reduced the amount of viable killers for experienced players to just a small number, and it's sad that small number is some of the most frustrating killers to play. That being said, maybe I'll return to killer one day if they finally make the low mobility m1 killers more viable and fun. I'm sure they'll be making Springtrap some dash killer - somehow. I'd just rather play killer in a way that's more engaging and fun for the survivors to face off against.

Yeah I agree I mean honestly it is sad as I have been saying this game has run its course. There has been no innovation or improvements. It is saddening because the limit always is the imagination of the developers but nah they want the lazy route they can have a slowly dying game if they want to.
