The Artist - Does she need changes?

Fun fact: Artist recieved exactly one change since her release, that being Lightburn removal on crows.

This, combined with the fact that every killer that came after or around the time she got released got some adjustments, sometimes really heavy ones, makes her join the likes of Hag and Myers, the killers that got the least changes.

Now, DOES she need any changes? Yeah, but not many.

My opinion is that she is pretty much almost perfect as is, at least from the killer perspective.

What I would change:

  • Give her the Severed Tongue add-on fully basekit, as it mostly serves as a QOL more than anything.
  • Rework some of her add-ons (both her Iris, Severed Tongue as it would be basekit, and some of her lesser used add-ons, like the Obituary or Charcoal Stick)

And that's it. No more, no less.

Thoughts?

I don't think she needs any changes, she is already perfectly balanced and that's why she's has never been touched. Maybe I would just rework her Shoes addon since it removes a good part of the survivors' counterplay, other than that I would leave her as it is.

She is fine, no changes needed imo.

Artist has some issues to me that could use addressing. I think she's much further from perfect than you feel, which is why many don't play her.

First people find her anti loop play style extremely boring. Honestly as and against to me personally. It just encourages hold w game play which is terrible. I'd nerf her anti loop slightly but buff her long range sniping a lot. That's the play style people generally enjoy playing as and against.

I'd like lockers to not remove birds any more. There's no skill involved here. It just invalidates long range sniping. The skill should be in prediction and dodging. Increase the time to remove birds and increase the aura reveal on them while repelling slightly.

She has some annoying map dependency. Maps with elevation really screw her. I don't think there's an easy fix here, so I think the only real solution is making the birds flying also have vertical collision. So basically if you were on The Game and launched a bird on the bottom or top floor, you'd also hit any survivors on its path above or below them flying. I understand this could be a little weird per say, but I think it's the only real solution here and I don't think it would make her too strong. She just feels too punished by map rng.

Then yeah I agree with you about her needing a huge addon pass and Severed Tongue base would be fine.

If you like to play Artist, it's better to not ask devs to touch her, even for small changes. Look how it went for Trickster…

    Unfortunately, you're probably correct.

I'd rather have a functional killer with small imperfections than a complete overhaul of something I like.

I think honestly Artist is so close to perfect that any changes risk overshooting and ending up further away from the goal than when you started.

    Leave her be, I say.

I want to launch at least 10 crows at once, thank you. 🤪

I'd add a SFX when injuring survivors with crows, especially at a distance.

Artist has been powercrept so much that now she literally can't even breach walls of A-tier even when played absolutely perfectly against good teams. All of the bugs come on top of that. Honestly, i think she could receive some buffs

An idea - could be a bad idea not sure. What if when survivors were actively repelling the birds away they suffered from a 3% hindered status effect? The birds are literally biting them but the survivors just "walks it off" Lol.
