Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

2v8 encourages slugging in endgame

So I recently had a game where the following happened:

I had only one hook stage. It was the endgame. Most Survivors were either dead or already left, but a few were still there. Now the killer downed me. So what did they do? They had one of them camp my body while I was slowly crawling towards the gate meanwhile the other one tries to chase the other Survivors out. Now the thing is, this was annoying for me.

But what should they have done? Well, if the killer picks me up I get send to a cage across the map and can get unhooked and will likely escape. But if they leave me I can get picked up by someone else or pick myself up. What these killers did was the optimal play given the situation. I think that instead of blaming the killers, we should aknowledge this is not good design for the mode. So here is my suggestion:

-A killer hooking a Survivor during endgame will put them in a cage as close as possible to your location

-The killers can see the aura of cages during the endgame

I feel like this will make cages reasonably defendable during endgame, and not turn a hook into a free escape most of the time.

you just didn't run away, and your teammates were sitting in the goal, of which there are 3(!!!) on the map. design has nothing to do with it. you were caught and you lose, it happens

Yeah I am okay with this at the end game in this mode, there is nothing left to play for as far as the killers are concerned. So they want to keep someone for a mori. I am fine with killers getting bit of end game boost as chances are if it matter so them, they probably desperately need it

Sucks to be the one who gets caught but you can always abandon if you're last

? My proposal wasn't "killers should be forced to hook in endgame so I can escape." It was an idea to allow the killer to hook in endgame without automatically losing all pressure on that Survivor by doing so. With my proposed idea I would have still died in that scenario, but it would be less boring for both me and the killer. Hell, if they wanted to they could still slug in endgame.
