Killers shouldn't know if a survivor is replaced by a Bot.
Killers shouldn't know if a survivor is replaced by a Bot. I just had 2 games in a row where multiple players where replaced by bots and in both cases the Killer decided to take the game hostage and not kill the last bot until he catches me. One of these games lastet 40 minutes until I DC'd. Most Killers can probably find out if someone is a bot, but they shouldn't have help by the game.

I do opposite.
When I see bots I kill them, and let other survs do their thing or chase for a fun untill 2 hooks each.
But I feel like wasted game when bots appears.
So yeah, I prefer to not know who and if surv was replaced by bot.
Unless all are bots

This is a case of being mad at the wrong party. You should be mad at your fellow survivors leaving you rather than the killer doing their job.

"Taking the game hostage" well you're not stuck in a corner, so you're able to progress the gens. It would kill you probably, but that's still no hostage-situation.
Also why would I take the bots first? They are predicable and easy to catch, if I want to kill everyone of course I leave them for last. And yes they are super easy to distinct from players because they move really unnatural xD
40 minutes is maybe a bit long, but in the end the killers as well as you where stuborn enough to play it until then, so I don't know what to say to that other than just try your best or just let them have the kill if it's too long for you. The fault lies mainly in the people that left xD

Like other posters have said, it largely depends on the killer at hand.
I've had survivors give up (idle and not recover) and had bots for teammates, while the killer would just kill the bots like @Archael says they do.
Sure, other killers might not care and just brute force through but the game is dead regardless unless substantial progress was made. I've won games where I had bots, I've lost games where I haven't had any bots. Regardless, a killer knowing whether or not a bot exists doesn't change anything and the blame should not be shifted on the killer for a bot appearing. If anything, the inverse would happen, and a killer would play normally even with the handicap of a bot, meaning more frustrating games for survivors that @Archael would probably play through normally as they no longer have knowledge that a bot exists in the game.

As a killer I have no interest in chasing bots. Why would I do anything to them? This is multi-player. If I wanted bots I would go do a custom. I'm only interested in chasing real people. There's no challenge in a bot.

Yes, that's why I kill them and leave survivors. It's not challange. It's waste of time, it's waste of engagement. I often just farm when bots are dead, because it's only thing left.
Also I don't want them to roam around.
And I would benefit mentally not knowing there are bots (untill I realize that this player is either bot or have wallhacks).

I have seen different scenarios, some where the killer turns friendly when bots appear, others where the killer plays as usual, so I don't think this change would be warranted tbh

i have the opposite approach. i don't kill the bots. i have no interest in what they do. i ignore them and kill the real survivors then use the abandon feature after every real person is gone. bots have zero engagement and for me chasing and hooking them is a waste of time

You literally self reported you also held the game hostage by not touching a gen for 40 minutes.

No, I tried doing gens, but alone against multiple Gens while trying to stealth takes time. Also the game lasted 40 minutes not the 1vs1 time. Invalid point.

The "Take the game hostage" part is true because he denied me the chance of the hatch, which is the biggest chance to escape when your team dies. Killers shouldn't be able to make that decision in generel, including slugging one of the last two.
