Just kick people when their ping is too high.
Just played a game as Survivor. He was playing wesker. I dropped a pallet, ran for a half a second when suddenly he hit me with a bound as if I was on the other side of the pallet where I was legit more than 2 seconds ago. I checked the ping. I had 33. He had 1020. This should not be allowed. I am fine (tho unhappy) to play against people with like 120 ping because that seems like understandable, but 4 digit ping makes the game so bad. Please just kick players if they have such a ping for a period of time longer than like 5 seconds.

Yeah ping is crazy exploitable on killer end, a friend sent me: This (Link to a video sorry if its not allowed)
It needs punished if someone is on super high ping.1 -
We can't even get BHVR to put the ping indicator back in the lobby so we can avoid high ping matches.
When the queue gets long, the game will actually put people on a different server. Doesn't tell them, doesn't give them a choice. It's happened to me a couple times where I was put on a different server and multiple people in the match had pings over 1k, including me. It was unplayable and I would've absolutely dodged if BHVR gave any indication of what the ping was going to be like.

Its not like having 400 ping is nice for a killer. i got placed in europe even tho i am in asia and having rubber band lag is not nice.

I just want the ms cap to be lowered to 100ms or lower. If ur ping is higher than that, why are you even playing the game? Thats not enjoyable for you or your opponents

I'd still prefer a quality match over a quick queues boring match

Thats a server bug though, it has nothing to do with ping. Though im pretty sure its players influencing the matche's server through having bad ping. As I said though in other comments, why would you even be playing the game if you're higher then 100MS? People just shouldn't be allowed to play unless they're below it

Its funny you guys feel like this, I remember back in 2008 when people in USA was sitting on 0,5 to 1 mbit internet and me in sweden had 1000mbit. Should we then have advcocated you "third world country interent" back then to not participate in any online gaming ?

Well it is awful the benefit killers get from it that ive seen. Survivors get the complete reverse in benefit from high ping. Hit behind walls from a late hit register, etc. The only thing thats consistent in high survivor ping is skill checks are fine.
I have chinese people play in Europe servers on the rare occasions and its unplayable to avoid them. You have to drop pallets a second in advance, be 5m out a window, etc to avoid hits. They dont seem to have any rubber banding, just 250ms ping and survivors get punished for it.
Personally i wouldnt call for "punishment" for being high ping as many SWFs have team mates across the world also 250ms ping, BUT it might be a good idea to visualise it in Lobby so people can dodge laggy players, including killers.

If it gives them an unfair advenatage then yes, you would be completely in your right to be upset at americans playing with high ping.

I've begun reporting everyone above 150ms. No excuses. Hope BHVR has fun with every report sent their way. It is exploiting to gain a competitive advantage. BAN EM

1000 ping is flat out "stand still and afk" levels of bad it's unplayable. There's no advantage. At 1000 ping you're attacking ghosts

Horrendous take. If you don't live in a region with good server availability (which is a lot of the world) what are you meant to do to rectify that? Get banned for being born in the wrong place?
I agree high ping hugely benefits one side more than the other, but the fix should be to make higher ping less beneficial on outcome, not ban people that live in the wrong place.

Oh for sure, a ban is stupid to even consider lol. Would be nice to see some lobby visual about everyones ping though for those to avoid if you wish.

People are just frustrated that it affects the fun of the match, they shouldn't gain benefits from the lag which is the issue, regardless if its out of their control or not.

Agreed.

BHVR won't ban people for this but at least it raise awareness to 'buy more servers' or whatever.
