My controversial way to buff „No mither“
First of all this perk really needs help and I will first suggest two changes that I think it honestly needs before going into the controversial part, that could potentially make no mother meta.
- Make it so grunts of pain are silent.
- Increase the recovery speed to 50% when slugged.
Now let‘s get to the hot take. No mother is a perk that puts you in a very dangerous position by being injured the entire time. My idea is simple, give it something to get out of dangerous situations.
- Nothing would fit this more than the old dead hard dash with 40 seconds of exhaustion. (The one from before patch 6.1)
This gives you the ability to last a little longer in chase and the community gets the beloved old dead hard back at the cost of being injured for the rest of the match. This sounds also balanced to me, because one of the main critique of old dead was that it extended chases, but no mother at the same time shortens your chases by 50%.
What are your thoughts, could it work?

If old DH were to return I think the community would have a complete and utter meltdown and I'm not saying that to be hyperbolic.
I know I'd be mad personally.
imo the only change no mither could get that'd be nice is letting the survivor using it start healthy, but the perks supposed to be a 'hard mode survivor' thing so, maybe not.

Tbh, I never understood why people were so pressed about the old Dead Hard. 🤷♂️
Like I'm curious, what was wrong with it? It just gave some distance at the penalty of exhaustion.

It would make No Mither pretty rewarding too. It was more better with the grunts of pain being completely silenced, as it added some fairness to not be caught as easily. Yet, you would've had to remain careful. The idea with the old DH dash is nice too, maybe instead of exhaustion it could be like a cooldown? Not a short cooldown, nor a long. So somewhere in the middle maybe?

Here was my pet idea for no mither:
-Start the game healthy.
-When you are downed, you have the option to use it once at like 95% recovery.
-If you do activate no mither, you THEN are permanently broken for the rest of the game. After this you can still keep picking yourself up from the ground when slugged.
-Plus other buffs the perk already has.

Free escapes.
You made a mistake and won't make it to the pallet? Dead Hard.
The killer is about to hit you? Dead Hard.
Want to get to places you're not supposed to? Dead Hard.

It was the best perk for extending chases/loops.

True it would be controversial and start a lot of debates, but it is on no mither, which would be fine.
No perk should screw over 3 other players only because it is supposed to be „hard mode survivor“. You are literally grieving your teammates by equipping it and you make their matches miserable. This perk should get changes so you are less of a burden to your teammates.

Fair enough.

@Gh0st2317 I think it was almost fine as well. It‘s not much diffrent than the other exhaustion perks and the killer could just wait it out at loops.
The only thing that they should have changed about the perk is removing the invincibility so you can actually mess it up and the killer can hit you.
I hope behavior makes a classic mode where they bring back some of the old perks. Old DH looks so much fun in old videos. I think there has never been a more fun perk/mechanic for survivors.

I don‘t think starting healthy makes this perk any better. I would still consider it a grieving perk.

Yeah, I feel like I like that idea. But again, DH was seen as a second chance perk. If they were to add a classic mode, that would be really fun tbh.
I think the old DH could be brought back, but I'm guessing it'll need certain adjustments.

I think on no mother you could bring it back one a one.
If you make it just an exhaustion perks, I would remove the invincibility and make it exhaust you for 60-80 seconds or something else.

That could work!

I'd start No Mither as healthy and then forever Broken once you're injured. And then at that point it shows as Broken in the UI as well, instead of broadcasting to everyone at the beginning of the trial you have it, especially the killer. The other bonuses it currently has can remain.
We could test out messing around with full silence on it. As for an old version of Dead Hard coupled with it, I just don't see many supporting that idea in the community.
Something has to be done with it, or anyone running it for Adept or a challenge or whatever will be dodged into another dimension once surv perks are visible in the lobby.

I don‘t think only changing that you are healthy at the start of the match is enough. It still needs an massive buff, that doesn’t involves just changing its numbers.
Probably it wouldn’t be supported but I can’t see why it would be a problem with no mither. No mother puts you in such a big disadvantage that it would even be a bad perk with old dead hard.
