Kill Switch update: The Mastermind has been Kill Switched due to an issue with Virulent Bound. The Mastermind will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

The Deja Vu and 3Gen systems need to be tuned again.

First off, this is a Google translate.
Old Skull Merchant, who caused these to be implemented/buffed, is no longer around.
Her legacy is making other killers feel cramped.
Déjà Vu is being abused for high MMR Gen Rush builds, and the 3rd Gen system is squeezing perks like Eruption more than necessary.
Don't you think it's time for a rebalance?
Déjà Vu would be a good perk for beginners and new maps even without the gen speed buff.
The 3rd Gen system should simply be capped or only triggered when there's only 1 generator left.
I'm sure there are better ideas, but I think this is the way to go.

i dont think this system will ever go out, she was the most toxic on that, but not the only one, the knight is right there, and they can bring more trigen heavy killers too, so, i believe its here to stay… Anyway, its bad designed

It doesn't need to be removed, but it does need to be improved.

To be fair to Skull Merchant, she wasn't the only killer capable of doing what we called 'gen-locking' or '3 genning'. It's just she was the most effective at it due to a variety of factors, namely her base power and addons that affected generator skillchecks.

Knight was one of the other killers who could do it quite effectively due to guards forcing survivors away from gens and the fact Knight could immediately boot survivors off gens forcefully with the guard's gen kick.

Singularity is also one of the Killers who in the current state of the game could do it quite easily with his power.

The system is basically a way to stop matches from dragging on for an eternity. I recently had a match where the last 3 generators were all quite literally in plain view of one another and the Killer kept repeatedly kicking them. If not for the system this could have continued for so much longer than it did.

The fact that three generators are within sight of each other is, to begin with, a problem of poor map design.
Maps like Glenvale, Sanctum of Wrath, and Azarov's Resting Place are clear examples of this poor design.
This system works well if you play toxically on these maps, but I don't like how you can get punished for just playing normally.

The problem is the maps and the gen spawns. There seems to be no logic on where gens can spawn anymore. So many maps (greenville, dead dawg, swamp) have areas that NEVER spawn gens that could spawn them to help the spacing on 3 gens but yet it's always the same areas that have bad 3 gen scenarios. Even when they announced the "8 gen regression limit, remove gen tapping), I knew this wouldn't help because the gens are still spawning in the same spots. 90% of the time when I play killer I view the 3 gen spots and utilize that area later in the match and I will win majority of the time.

Here was a 4 gen situation I had a week or so ago on Pale Rose. If the Chucky played it right we would have never gotten out of it. Swamp has so much empty space that could be gen spawns and it just never works that way.

Everything about this map is bad, the killer items and Gens spawn locations are all broken.
This is probably because the map is old and has never been updated.

i mean granted the map has been downsize compared to what it originally was but yeah, it definitely needs an update and people have been complaining for an update for years.

Merchant was replaced by Singularity when his buffs from last year went out. Unless he gets nerfed back down and the original issues with his power as a lockdown tool get addressed, the kick limit system cannot be removed.

Besides, do you really need 8 regression events to maintain pressure? With surge that's, what? 64% of a gen?

I've been advocating for these buffs to not happen since before they happened. I'm going to continue advocating for many of them to go away, especially given he was already potent at 3 genning pre-buff.
