Go next should be paused
The go next thing should be paused until other things are implemented. I do realize people do this for stupid reasons but most of the time is game frustrations.
Anti tunneling and the anti camp is very important. This would more than likely cut down on the go next because seriously what is the point being in a game when you can’t really do anything and your tunneled off the bat.
This will only hurt new players. Most players will be in soloq and let’s face it that is a dumpster fire. Also they need to do something about SWF’s I myself are pretty fed up with them.
Improve the crow system. I mean we get crows for being slugged like what are we going to do.
Again the list goes on so there needs to be core issues addressed or there will be more survivors gone and less to play the game.

Plus accessibility issues. Do you hate going against The Ghoul because you think he's OP and unfair? Suck it up.
Are you unable to face The Doctor because his flashing lights and other effects cause you physical harm? This is a problem BHVR needs to address and in the mean time you should NOT be punished for needing to leave the game.
Are you unable to play against The Clown due to Coulrophobia? Fair, there should be something implemented to combat this, I am not sure what, but I'm not a developer.
Anyone who says anything like "If you aren't willing to play against a certain killer for any reason, you shouldn't be playing DBD at all." is an ableist.-7 -
yes very true. Someone on a feed said the refuse to play against The Dredge because it triggers their PTSD.
There are to many variables to put in a thing like this.
-2 -
if you aren't willing to play against a certain killer for any reason you shouldn't be playing at all since that's called getting good at the game
if you aren't willing to play the game to have fun learn and get better why play dbd?
-6 -
Did you even read what I said? You obviously didn't, or maybe you did and that means…
I specifically said I am not talking about not being willing to play against a certain killer because you don't like them, I am talking about how Doctor can cause people PHYSICAL HARM.4 -
To be fair, I don’t think it’s very realistic to expect a player that has something like emetophobia (A condition that makes them vomit if they hear/see vomit) to not be allowed to play the game when Plague is 1 out of 39 killers. Not even taking into account her pickrate, at a 1.45%. You’re more likely to encounter a Nurse, with a pickrate at 3.24%.
This is just one example but some killers can trigger actual conditions that a player cannot control. Just like some players are actually colorblind. Just because it may have been a small percentage does not mean they should be excluded from QOL. Nor should we blame them for being born that way.

It seems like the anti tunnel /camp updates were supposed to go out at the same time as go next prevention as they said the game will detect if u are just throwing urself at the killer to be killed off fast, but what about if the killer is just tunneling you that fast, youd end up with a dc penalty. Meanhile if antitunnel was in that might be allot less likely to happen

I'll get flamed for this and its whatever, but you are in a horror game. If you can't handle the effects that a horror game might bring you really shouldn't be playing it especially with how VAST DBD has become over the years. I am truly not trying to be insensitive but lets be real here.
In terms of the OP - The Go Next Prevention should release on its scheduled time. People give up for a lot less than being tunneled or camped.
3 -
that's not even mentioning how they created a loophole in their own system with the option to bring an offering that lets you hook attempt .
-2 -
honestly i think if you have these types of conditions you shouldn't play the game for the sake of their own health.
0 -
It's simply the risk you take playing games with those types of problems unfortunately. It's simply not realistic to expect more specific, harder to address issues to be catered to at the expense of everyone else and the health of the game. Those issues can be addressed in a single player game reasonably, but not in an online MP game, where they could potentially give advantages, nor are devs obligated to make unreasonable changes that are against their design for their game.
It also undermines any punishment system when people can get a convenient excuse to avoid it, because we all know if there was some work around people would immediately abuse it. It's up to the people with the issue to also avoid trigger effects more than anything.

that is my point . From a survivor standpoint what is the purpose of playing when you are being targeted especially from the start and you last 3 minutes. It takes longer to load into the game than you actually played. There is no point.
I also made this post after there were two people clearly working with the killer and BHVR needs to do start actually doing someone about that. I have seen it increase more and more.
Also being a soloq survivor and if you are matched with swf of any kind more than likely they won’t go out of their way to help you. Some do most don’t. I think clear changes to soloq is needed and possibly restricting SWFs to 2 or 4 and only pair them with others. Yes I know that is extreme but it will level the ground.
-4 -
they should quit the game if it causes them physical harm if they want to prioritize playing this game over their own health that's up to them also there is a disclaimer every time you boot up the game telling you to seek medical attention if you suffer from these symptoms

While yes people with disabilities know their limits. Some won’t play certain games because of it. I know Call of Cthulhu messes with my husband’s head and we won’t play it. However it in a game that has a variant of killers it’s a toss up on who you will get. It’s really on BHVR to make appropriate changes so all can enjoy, if they implement this. Now people with disabilities could go next or DC but with them implementing a 20 DC limit that’s harsh. Especially with the servers dropping to add to it.
-3 -
It is more that they are putting a 20 DC limit then you will be banned for the season or rift. Now ok that is fair but these also include server drops and hackers so it isn’t cool.

Tbh if you're the kind of epileptic who's brain explodes when seeing flashing things and you and decide to play games which need lots of flashing notifications that's on you.
4 -
Accessibility is not 'i hate fighting this so I'm removing it. Accessibility is also not 'i have epilepsy so I should be allowed to never face the Doctor'. This game has a warning for flashing lights, sounds and horror. If you can't play after that, that's on no one to fix for you, including if you're too scared for ANY reason to play vs specific killers.
I have an illness that directly makes Doctor incredibly tough for me to play against without incredible focus. Am I removing him from my game? No. That's stupid. Removing a killer is not the same as covering up some spiders in a game that Beth is afraid of.
I can't even believe first and foremost that people want to pick what killer they go up against. IN A GAME ABOUT DISADVANTAGES.
Play a different game.

The true solution to "going next" is to just allow for the 3 attempts off the hook without reducing the hook timer. Slippery Meat gives you +3 attempts, Up the Ante gives all players +1, and Vigo's Lips give all players +1. Make the last two not stack, and remove luck entirely. That way, players can choose to stack 8 unhook attempts and bang them all out without being able to kill themselves.
Didn't read the rest of the thread due to the ableism on display against epileptics. Hope this is considered on topic still.
-2 -
So when killers complained they had "Epilepsy" due to flashlight clicking, they got it nerfed. But no one told them to stop playing. If they could nerf flashlights for that, then something should be done about certain killers too.
So if it helps the killers, they do something, but if it's to help the survivors, nothing gets done to help them.
-1 -
it is lol. I didn’t read where they were still allowing the offerings because I only saw perks. So that would be good. I feel this whole thing will bite them in the end. It is like they are forcing you to stay in a match and still reward the killer.
I also know people just go next for the dumbest reasons.
-2 -
No, this is a huge issue in the game. Anytime something goes wrong for Survivors, or they see a perk/killer they don't like they just instantly give up. It's so unbelievably lame and boring, the fact they allowed it to go on for this long is honestly shocking..
-1 -
True but killers also DC when the game doesn’t go their way as well.
You are correct because I have seen that as I play killer. I run lightborn so yes they do. However the more I see it’s because tunneling, camping, or teammates sitting on a gen or hiding. Like I said it doesn’t need to be gone forever because I do favor it. I just feel there are more important things that need to be implemented first.
1 -
And what stops them from giving up and blowing every skill check on purpose? Go next is a great idea but BHVR would have to look at gameplay and something tells me either A. They go by whatever the comment says and unfair bans happen or B nothing happens and GO next becomes just as useless.
-1 -
Wait, what? Where did they say 20 was an absolute limit for a season/Rift long ban?
2 -
If anything, they need to be tracking people going next right now and initiate preemptive bans the second the patch goes live for everyone that has been going next constantly up until this point.
0 -
it was mentioned on the forums and people also said it was true on there so it may have been on the live because I didn’t read it anywhere. This is the main reason I feel this should be the last update. I really do think this is a good idea but I really would like to have updated things in place before this happens.

That’s a bit harsh. The reason I see people go next is because they are on the hook and their teammates are locker hiding, sitting on a gen across the board, my personal favorite someone doing invocation while three other teammates are either being chased, slugged, or on a hook, or a killer tunnels within the first 30 seconds.
There are those that do go next for dumb reasons and yes I get that but there needs to be improvements first and then I see no problem with it.
-2 -
Accessibility issues aside, they need the Go Next prevention.
Its also not fair to put that on the other folks who have queued up by killing yourself on FIRST hook and affecting the rest of the folks in the game by making it a 3v1. You can DC from the game without affecting others by giving them a bot.

Most of my experiences with go next have been a survivor giving up because they are the first person hooked... nothing to do with tunneling or slugging. They are salty they didn't have an awesome gsme winning loop.
Slugging and tunneling isn't as bad as folks act like it is... or maybe I'm lucky and very infrequently see those killers.
3 -
Killers get a dc penalty. Going next avoids that. Survivors should either dc and eat the penalty or play the. Game they queued for
5 -
To what? Selectively chose what killer you go up against? Anyway, the minute one person DCs/Rage quits the whole lobby will. Seen it time and time again with folks offing themselves on hook. If the killer wanted to play bot games they would queue for a bot game.
In my opinion the best games of DBD are the ones that you come back and win when it feels like hope is lost. Can't get those games when folks give up after two seconds.
4 -
You don’t earn blood points or gain progression with your rank if you play in a custom bot lobby, this isn’t the same thing.
-4 -
So you can cherry pick only the games you want to play? Nah you aren't entitled to that. If you aren't going to play the game you queue up for then dont play period.
4 -
No. Certain killers deserve to play against bots. The killer in your profile photo included, so I can see why you’re against the idea. 🤭
-6 -
players like you are the reason the DC penalty needs to exist
4 -
It's a horror game? You don't have to play it. It's not for everyone, especially kids. If you have issues with clowns ect being scary...
0 -
But Then they shouldn't play the game.
0 -
It's always funny the people against punishments inconvenient for themselves are always the ones to display the mentalities that require them in the first place. Funnily enough they got hit with the ban hammer too.
I really don't get why people think they are entitled to ruin games for others and not get punished for it.
3 -
Yes, just ignore the rest of my post and concentrate on The Clown.
1 -
The clown is obvious

I agree with the pause, go next shouldn't be in the game if they don't fix the cheating problem first. At the end of the day i will be punished for not wanting to play against some subtle survivor/killer cheats? That's insane BS. Fix or find a solution to the cheaters first, then think about the "go next thing" BTW i hope my suggestion will come thru so we can have fun playing this game without having to use cheats ourself to pace off the others.
1 -
you get it. I never thought about killers affecting someone I was things mechanics. Also if they did focus on the cheaters we wouldn’t have nerf and buff so much.
