AUDIO
I'm having trouble with the audio on the dbd, and I hear things that are far away on the right side as if they were right next to me. It's quite frustrating.
Tengo problemas con el audio en el dbd y es que cosas que estan lejos las escucho por el lado derecho como si estuviesen pegadas a mi, es bastante frustrante.

Tested this - sounds that should be coming from the left are heard in the right side, and right side sounds are heard in the left. Not a configuration issue, tested outside of game, and sounds are in the correct place in every other program/game. Only since the release of Tome 2. Why does this always seem to happen?

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: Generator audio only coming through the right speaker on a headset and has an increased distance making gens appear a lot closer than they are
PLATFORM: XBOX
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: While working on a generator the “generator chugging” audio only plays through the right headphone speaker - with the clicks coming only from the left. The audio distance of gens through walls is also broken with gens sounding next to you when they are in fact a lot further away
VIDEO: No video as is an audio issue with a headset

Yeah it is TERRIBLE! I am gonna find out right now what causes it, just played one match vs Springtrap it might be because of the cams or it is just an all killer thing

same issue here. killer footsteps sound all over the place, im hearing gens from so far away and they sound right next to me. honestly unplayable.
2 -
Ps5 as well, it seems to happen after using a gate?

I am playing on Steam and I cant hear the sound properly. Cant hear gens and the killers location right.
I tried restarting the game and my pc but the bug still appears.

I have a similar problem not sure if the same but, I noticed that once you interact with a door the audio bugs
Post edited by Coordi on2 -
I believe its due to interacting sith the doors in general. Sound was fine until I went through a door
1 -
in the patch notes they say there is a known audio bug because of peoples headsets. Could that be it?
Post edited by Coordi on0 -
Just did a test, yeah it is after you interact with a camera when versing SpringTrap

It's for all sounds: generator sounds overall, terror radius, injured survivors & healing, footsteps

Console too. Audio cuts out, pans in the wrong direction, absolute mess

PC here
I can add that audio is correct while on the hook (and having the hook music).

When I'm even in the radius of a generator I can only hear it in my right ear, same with nearly every sound. Game is unplayable rn since you cant even hear footsteps
Post edited by Coordi on3 -
This is happening on Xbox Series S as well
Post edited by Coordi on1 -
For me it was gens on the right and repair noises on the left.
Also just played the map without the new killer and it didn't occur.

So its all platforms obviously, and I found out what it is.
For me its only been when I go through the Security Room from Springtrap (and I think the first person POV is the cause of this)
What happens is the soundbox thats normally attached to the camera both get moved to First Person during the security animation. After this, the Camera will return, but the soundbox remains and is attached to the back of the survivor.
Yes, it sounds weird, but I am 99% certain its a sound object just being detached from the camera and remaining attached to the survivor hitbox0 -
Can confirm, i hear repair noises and footsteps on the left and other noises on the right. Makes it imposible to locate sounds.
3 -
Just tested it, interacting with the conttrol panel (dunno how it is called) in game is enough to trigger the bug, no need to go in the room.

PC AUDIO BUG
I got this bug where like the audio got really directional and far off.
When I approached a gen it sounded like it was much farther away. I could hear the generator noise in one ear and the fixing of the gen sounds in the other ear (and loudly, despite me having lowered audio a bit).
Also I could hear my character's pain sounds in one ear and everyone else's in the other which was super weird. The skill check sounds seemed fine though.
All of the sounds sounded far away (usually behind me no matter where I looked). Making playing super hard.
Not sure how it occurred but it could have been from interacting with Springtrap's doors?
2 -
I had the same issue and mine came into effect right after interacting with a Springtrap door for the first time. I hadn't done it in a game yet and I didn't do it again, my audio stayed bugged the rest of the match after that.

Also having this issue, best thing to do for right now is avoid using the cameras against The Animatronic
0 -
SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: When you use the security cameras with The Animatronic, your game audio becomes "stuck", so if there was a gen to your right being repaired, you will have that audio for the rest of the game. Your footsteps are off and every audio in the game becomes almost inverted to where you or the killer actually is. It's impossible to use any audio queues after this.
PLATFORM: PC STEAM
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: I used the security cameras, and then my audio became stuck. I tested this 3 times and it happened every single time.

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: Audio is INSANELY bugged. So, I've began playing the new update of DBD, FNAF Chapter. And I've noticed that the audio sounds really... weird. Like I have surround sound on, but I don't? My headphones have always remained the same, same audio settings before the update, but after the update I can hear a generator very close to completion, and I'll think that it's next to me but instead it's on a random hill that's quite far? (Was playing on the Temple Of Purgation map)
It throws me off too, when I'm being chased by Springtrap and I'll think he's behind me, but is actually in front of me.
And when I hear footsteps, I would think there is a survivor next to me, but instead they're quite far from me.
Also, an ANOTHER issue with it, is that when there's an injuried survivor, I can hear their pained grunts and think that they're either below, next to me, or above me, yet they're incredibly far away.
PLATFORM: PC
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: Just load into a game, and the audio will be bugged already. (And I've heard it is also after interacting with the cameras and doors.)

I’m on Xbox and the rest of my swf is on pc and PlayStation. We have experienced this bug every single match the directional audio is completely messed up. Sounds sound closer than they are and are coming from the wrong direction.
1 -
Ikr? It's annoying tbh.

How do they keep ######### this game's ######### up like this
1 -
Terrible issue with ps5 as well. Audio is everywhere and is so out of place
0 -
I have the exact same issue, it's really frustrating
0 -
Same thing here. Objects far away sound close, and vis-versa. I rely on my hearing to play this game, and I cannot play with it like this.
0 -
To avoid this, for now, don't touch Spring Trap's cameras. They mess up your audio.
0 -
I'm getting messed up audio even without touching the cameras. Not AS bad but still ambient sounds drop out every minute or so. Also, This new killer isn't a stealth killer right? Not a single terror radius for him. Just the stomping.
2 -
He gets Undetachable from moving between his doors, which you can remove by spotting him with cameras. Stealth is part of his kit but he's not a stealth killer.

Same issue both on PC and Playstation 5 since the update. First heard it on PS5 and didn't know what had happened. Then confirmed on PC - Steam that it was the same and narrowed it down a bit. So far only noticed on the new Five Night's of Freddy Map. Other player noises (panting, grunts, etc.) would be heard in random places away from where they are. For example, I was near the shack and the killer was chasing another player. I was healing behind a rock and some bushes, and it sounded like the other survivor was right next to me. The killer's audio was fine. Then, I went to go do a gen, but I couldn't find it because I was following the sound of it already in progress and based on the sound, it wasn't where it should have been. Then I moved to the gen and the audio sounded like it was to the left of me. I was facing the gen, slightly angled with the gen to the front/right of me.
Finally, after going through one of the doors and coming out of the other, I heard the killer like he was on top of me but I saw him in the distance.Attached are my player logs. I'm also using stereo headphones and never had this issue before the update. If you need additional information from me, let me know.
Update: I can confirm that it only happens with the new map and killer. I played another match against a ghoul on the Laboratory map and didn't have any audio issues whatsoever.

Having the same issue on Steam as survivor. Audio is wrong while playing with headphones, sometimes it's not in stereo, sometimes it's on the wrong side. This makes it really difficult to play the game as sound is really important.

It appears to be an issue with the security doors, i only notice it once i go through them.
0 -
i think it's from using the security doors, but i could be wrong. it may also be the map.
1 -
yes, it's the security doors.

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: Survivors facing Springtrap cannot hear other survivors' injury noises.
PLATFORM: PC
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: Autohaven Wreckers, Gas Heaven. I am playing with my duo, who is hanging around in case he needs to save me from Springtrap. After vaulting a window while injured, both me and my duo realized my character was not making his usual injured noises, and he could not hear my character. He had used a camera briefly at the start of the match, while I had not.
VIDEO: N/A, I would like to do further testing to see if I can replicate it.
PLAYER LOGS:
- I don't know how to get these, and I would need my duo's logs as well for this.

Pretty sure I have had the audio issues without touching the doors as survivor. Will test more

PC player here as well; when I interact with the cameras and go through the door to a new location is when I notice my sound going weird. Almost as if though the sound is in one position and doesn't move with me/objects around me anymore.
This has been with Springtrap and I've only played on the new map mode.0
