SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE:

Mettle of man typically protects you against the exposed status however against the spirit with rancor (in my case) the perk did not protect me. most of the video is lead up just for clues, the real issue is at the end

Mettle of Man protects you when you're injured - it does not protect you when healthy from taking double damage.

To my knowledge Mettle Man only gives you special protection of a hit if you are injured. It does not invalidate you getting exposed by perks. You jumping in the locker also prevented it from even activating as you are not getting hit at all as its a grab.

watch the full video, I'm not referring to my locker jump as mettle of man not working, im referring to when im at the gate. my thinking is; because it never activated after i was downed then i still have the perk and its effects primed for next use.

P.S in case ur wondering why i included that part i thought it would be good to include it as a lead up for clues.

Ok don't know what happened but the original video I watched ended on you getting hooked after getting pulled out of the locker. There was nothing after that the video stop playing and the video was about that 45 seconds. Yeah now that I can see the whole video for what ever reason it indeed did not work but I was going by the only info I had and that was the 45 seconds of video I could view. Now its 2 minutes but was not when I viewed it originally. I was even thinking that was odd point to stop as if I would have expected there to be something more as it did not end on the hook but little bit later after the survivor already started to come unhook you.

Gave this a vote up as there was clearly something wrong.

    Not a bug.

The perk is very clear that it only works from injured to dying. Mettle of Man is not endurance. If you had the endurance effect, it would work like that.

No offense or disrespect but i don't believe you have used mettle of man. This perk works against being chainsawed, myers and the like. While it doesn't say anything about endurance it does state that "the next occasion" (without any specifics given) the dying state is ignored. Assuming the devs intended to phrase it across the board (hits, exposed, abilities etc) my argument makes perfect sense, also if you look the perk up in relation to exposed and that such, reddit and other forums agree with me.

P.S while I'm sure you're referring to it in a different way, i was injured!

I watched the video, you were not injured. You have to BE in the injured state, not get injured. Mettle of Man only stops you from going injured → dying. It does give specifics:

    image.png

You were fully healthy at the exit gate when you had Mettle of Man active, and not injured, so it won't proc and save you. You went from healthy → dying state, not injured state → dying state. It can save you against Bubba or Hillbilly IF you're already injured.

Here's a bit of an easier read from the wiki:
After triggering your third Protection HitMettle of Man activates:

    • While injuredMettle of Man shields you from going down the next time you take damage.
    • Healing back to full health will reveal your Aura to the Killer whenever you are farther than 12/14/16 metres from them.

    Also from the wiki:

    • Mettle of Man will not protect you from being put into the Dying State if you are Healthy.

The perk has worked like this for years. Whatever people were saying on Reddit is just wrong lol.

    No worries.
I wasn't trying to talk down or anything (re-reading that I felt like I sounded kinda mean). Just explaining. :)
