abandon's not couting as kills under stats
so when a survivor abandons the game it doesn't count as a kill. well if the bot that is left behind is killed it should definitly count as a kill in the stats for the killer at least. i don't care if it counts as a death for the survivor or not. that's irrelevant. but on my merchant i have maintained a 80% or higher kill percentage which i am extremely proud of since i kept it up even after they nuked her. i am seeing that percentage start to edge down because abandons aren't counting as kills so even a game that i have 4k'd in is counting as only a 2k in the stats. i know this is a very minor issue for most and is nothing compared to actual balancing issues and bugs but it matters quite a bit to me. hopefully this can be fixed soon so i can keep my completely pointless number up that nobody will ever care about but me.

Can anyone else confirm if this is true? Stats are useless if they are not accurate.

i mean, they are already pretty much useless. i just happen to take more interest in it then i should. but i played springtrap for the first time and i kept track of my kills from the beginning and the stats are only counting people who stayed in game until they died as kills. it's not counting any abandon's.

I'm more concerned with whether or not this extends to their official kill rates or if it's only a bug with the stat tracker for players. Like if someone abandons does that not count towards the official kill rate? I think this is important since they seem to heavily base their balancing decisions on what the kill rates are.

you didn't kill them they left or "abandoned" so of course it doesn't count

If they left then they conceded the match

yea it's a loss for them but you didn't kill them

If you want the kills you need to kill the bots.

There’s no possible way you’re being this ignorant. If someone DCs, then you absolutely killed them. Most DCs happen when someone is about to die anyways lmao

i'm not being ignorant i'm being literal you didn't kill them they quit and since this is a pvp game bots don't count and would screw up kill rates between players
it's probably this way to get accurate data on balance

i agree completely. but if i kill the bot it should still count as a kill for my stats instead of not. i never use the abandon feature as killer, i make the effort to kill all the bots and yet, my stats are negatively effected.

i do. but it still isn't counting as a kill in the stats. so my kill percentage is dropping since they aren't counted.

well that's a side effect of adding the abandon mechanic and you can't really kill harder since they'll abandon anyway
it's kinda unsolvable unless they remove it

You’re being ignorant because you’re trying to force a difference between a concession and a “kill”. If you down the last survivor and they DC, you killed them. Trying to say otherwise is just cope and such a strange hill to die on

Sorry for the necro, can anyone confirm if this is still the case? Killers abandon on 4k slug = loss = negative MRR? And survivor abandons dont count as kills? I will absolutely abuse this if true.
Not because Im evil, but because the MMR system is so bad, that any half decent killer is practically forced to do this, to have semi enjoyable matches. I am absolutely convinced at this point the massive amount of cheaters and sweats I get and have no business going against, is due to this stat/mmr system working the way it does…

I have zero idea of it applies to mmr. All I know in the stats they release that anybody who abandons doesn't count as a kill and it's tanking my kill percent. It went from 83 to 73 in 3 days and I kept track of actual kills and it was well over 80% on my main. And she's the one who lost the percentage.
