Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Is anyone surprised by their official stats?

You do have a small sample size, and not that much play-time to work with though. Let's see how the average turns out to be after around 250 matches played.
For comparison sake, I have almost 4 times as many games played, just on Sable alone, and this is also not factoring in all the hundreds of matches I've played of Chaos Shuffle or 2v8 mode.

Yeh I'm not surprised, not sure why you tagged me :D I totally expect most ppl to be at 60%, unless they are totally new to the game. That's because I play both sides, I know how sweaty killer has to be just to keep up their 60% kill rate. Survivor tho, super chill. Many games I don't even get chased once, just a gen jockey…

Also, Im not afraid to admit I'm not great at the game. So someone who is very mediocre at best can get these stats. How much more do you think this percent will drop after 80+ matches? Most ppl don't play this much on average in a 30 day timespan.

ps: 30 days stats is what they asked for, so I posted those

Absolutely agree, small sample pool, I didn't get to play much in the last 30 days, plus the hours are still spread between killer and survivor, but those are the stats they asked for so… Still doesn't change the fact that even you will agree with… survivor is pretty friggin chill, compared to killer. Or are those stats of yours purely SWF?

"Most part"… so some are trio or quad? :) I play 100% solo… I refused multiple requests over the years to join teams. I can't imagine how nasty it would be to have someone like me also in a squad communicating… I can probably drop the windows perk, cause… u know… :) I will probably add another stupidly OP chase perk like finesse in its stead etc… I would run styptic 24/7 cause I know my team is doing gens, and thus I will most likely escape the vast majority of my matches and thus it would not be a waste to use em… just to name a few things…

Not quite getting the "even though" part. - Isn't this exactly the point; to be able to show what you do instead of going by feel/going "trust me bro" 😅 Like, you literally were the one bringing the proof into play so I was genuinely surprised that none of the screenshots shared in this thread were from you. - And as I said; beyond that I'm just super curious what your breakdown looks like, escape rate aside.

I think I like the fun side of WGLF+MfT too much… but I might try that build of yours to see how it goes. — Out of curiosity: what are the overall match results like? Like, how many kills does a killer usually get? (that's from memory so not really reliable, I'm aware, but maybe a general tendency?)

Absolutely. But understand I have been playing since 2016, I have heard the "yeh right" argument about a 1000x at this point ;)… My point was, now that we can finally prove it, ppl are still sceptical… As if ppl can't have certain stats or just be generally good at the game.

To your question from memory, its not a hard question. I play 100% solo… so killers are almost always going to get their 2k. I just play smarter, with the better build, so I am usually the one escaping. Either through hatch as last survivor, or gate at 2k.

edit: I did post screenshots… scroll back up mate ;)

I have 1200 hours on DBD Windows, 500 on Steam. Yet the tracker says I've only spent 500 hours in matches. THERE IS NO WAY. I HAVE SPENT. 1200 HOURS. SITTING IN MENUS. DOING NOTHING. 😭 I play survivor most times and damn near instantly queue every time, how is their stuff calculated?

For some reason I believe, manipulated by the way the devs work over the years… I would not be surprised if they completely fabricated stats like this :D

one thing i'll say is that i don't believe that the stat system is under-counting time played.

it is in the sense that it's not counting the matches from all of the events which can be substantial.

but the average DBD match only takes 10 minutes.

and when i multiply my total matches (about 15,000) by 10 minutes i get the time it says i've played (2500 hours).

i think the truth is a lot of us actually do spend a lot of time AFK, spending bloodpoints, waiting in the queue or lobby, and even the time it takes just to load a match. all of this counts towards our steam time but not in-game time. this is the part we're under-estimating.

Screenshots prior to me asking in this thread? - That's what I meant. - If there are some prior to that: I don't see those o: Only see the one with Kate in the post in reply to mine.

That's another thing of the solo vs premade; premades usually don't care about "just making it out" and go the "all or none"-route via playing very altruistically and trying stuff you'd never attempt in SoloQ (which, imo, is why the difference between Solo and swf in stats isn't all that big. - It also makes sense from a playing pov; if you all die around the same time, no one has to hang around in spectator mode that much longer than everyone else —- and is also another aspects of the "casual surv" you asked about at some point) personally, I used to have a higher escape rate in SoloQ than swf… but soloQ on the whole is not enjoyable so I stopped doing that

I most likely have more hours on Killer than you overall. But I will not change your mind anyway, so thats fine. I obviously have nearly 11k hours only on Survivor and 3 hours on Killer.

Just adding one more voice to the argument that the reported stats seem… "off." Even factoring in menu/lobby times, these seem weird.

This. I was very confused with the low amount of hours. Specially when my hours are spread over a lot of killers. I also got confirmation that i am addicted do discordance as a perk with a 60% pick rate.

For some reason knight is my highest picked killer when i cant remember the last time i used him. The 2nd most killer is bubba wich feels right since he was the killer I started using when i began playing DBD.

I'm surprised I have nearly as many Survivor games played as I do Killer games played. Coulda sworn I was more Killer leaning.

I just acknowledged that I did the Kate adept achievement in November 2023, yet I never escaped using her perk Dance With Me. It just shows 0.00% escape rate in the official stats.

I also cannot think of any "non regular" game mode which would allow me to use the particular adept build, where Steam would have said "Yep, you got it".

So even after some days and several updates, some stuff just feels horrendously off.

I'm a bit surprised by my stats. My escape rate is almost half, but it sure doesn't feel like it sometimes, especially when I have those days where I die in every single match except the last one, lol.

To answer the question, my longest chase time is 3 minutes and 9 seconds. I wonder what chase that was, lol.

I'm surprised by my stats because they're very incorrect lol. Unless something has happened to it and it's just missing loads of data for periods of time. It originally loaded the correct data but now it's missing a lot.

I had a 4-gen chase last night, but I don't think it counted as continuous, since it shows that my longest chase is only at 1 minute and 15 seconds.

  • CrypticGirl
    CrypticGirl Member Posts: 1,461

Yeah, a lot of chases you get to escape briefly by breaking line of sight or whatever, and then the Killer is on you again. So it's tough to get one long continuous chase.

I'm sorry I don't play as much as some of you ppl in a 30day timespan… but xx matches later and my Escape rate only went up, so… If ppl think that a 100-1000 more matches will drop me below 50%, power to you. But I think I'm pretty stable around 55-60%.

Especially since the last few updates, the game became so easy as survivor. It even shows in the Nightlight kill rate stats, which are dropping hard lately… Presumably this is because BHVR is now forcing ppl to play the game instead of going next. When people cant go next, they just sit on gens, causing the massive genspeed imbalance to be laid bare, probably unwillingly :)

    64.54%.jpg

Yes I am still using that broken build… Don't fix what aint broken is what I always say. (Fixated Vigil Sprint burst). That build is also the reason why my best chase time is kinda low, it's cause I often drop chase when I start walking and/or losing chase because I go out of range with sprintburst. In reality my best chases are well over 2mins, which will always result in a killer losing the match.

So again, I conclude that these stats don't surprise me at all. I have always known survivor was the easy mode of DBD. All BHVR had to do was force people to play those miserable matches for it to be proven so. Balance in DBD is whack, and that is why I'm playing more and more survivor with every year.

Harsh reality for some: Anyone sitting around 40% escape rate probably isn't very good at the game. Maybe they aren't using the right build for their playstyle. Most likely they just don't know where the god/strong loops are. Or maybe… they don't care and just meme around a lot. Which is totally fine, but those latter people should not be having an opinion on the balance of the game. Cause it is making people like me completely stop playing killer and put all points in survivor… I guess they need survivors, so its a win? Either way… imo they are pushing killers to much to the brink, pretty sure at some point, at the current rate, they'll have a killer shortage instead.

Having 30+ hours on Pig with a Kill rate of 56%… to me it's a bit surprising

Having a 50% Kill rate on Hillbilly… even though I'm not good with him

The stats are largely useless, since it mainly shows the killer I use the most, which I already know about. It should show ALL killers, because then I would have a point of reference to compare them.

    ….it does show all Killers.

    there's a drop down menu:

    Screenshot 2025-06-28 210006.png

As shown here, GF is my 17th most played Killer (probably would be higher since I played a LOT of him on release) and if you drop THAT menu down as well, it'll give you more detailed stats

Ah, I was not aware it got fixed. He’s sitting at number 21. Though that’s largely explained by my lack of playtime the last year.

Sorry for the confusion, I should’ve checked before posting.

My escape rate is 47% when i was expecting around 40%. As a strictly solo queue player i was quite chuffed.

We should be able to order the list according to a stat, to compare the characters and have any kind of useful information out of the whole thing.

The stats are fake. I escape significantly less than 10% of the time but it would have me believe it is over 40%.

Not really, kinda expected I stomp most of my lobbies because im good enough with my killers and the game cant find appropriate opposition.
