Wait... Is Abandon with Survivor counted as Escape?
I was just checking the stats from official page, and it actually shows they escaped LOL
It's probably a bug of the website, but I can't help but wondering what data did it collect LOL.

Currently, yes

I think It's supposed to be a draw right now, so kinda as if they got a hatch…

I think the devs did that to not incentivize killers to slug everyone to death.

But this can happen even if the killer isn't slugging any survivors. The last survivor gets the abandon button immediately after changing to the dying state, which means the last survivor ALWAYS has the option to abandon before they are sacrificed by the killer.

Abandon as survivor has only been mention as a draw or loss.
Like the first week where the killer will abandon after 10 minutes thinking it was a win. It's actually treated as a draw.
Like then, showing escape does not mean you escaped. Abandoning when all survivors are slugged or hooked is a lose. Abandoning when all other survivors are bots is a draw.

I'm thinking this is likely just a visual bug as there is no draw symbol so to say.

Yeah, it's not a perfect system. The devs could add a small delay to the adandon feature. That way the last survivor can't abandon immediately.

The purpose of the abandon option is to allow a player to move on when there is no possibility of any other outcome but a loss. Delaying that until the killer gets around to actually hooking or mori’ing a player would defeat the whole point.

I'm not sure what is happening, but I think survivor abandons are currently not being tracked by the official stat tracker for survivors.
Because I definitely recorded myself looking at the official stat tracker, then pressing the abandon button as a survivor in a normal game, and it has been 2 days since then, and the abandoned game never showed up on the official stat tracker.
I need to run more experiments.
Also, I checked the killer side, and if a survivor abandons, and the killer kills the bot, then it counts as a kill for the killer. So the kill rates might be fine, even though I'm absolutely sure the escape rate isn't fine.

Wait.. that means Abandon now is basically treated as DC, but without penalty. So the result of said matches are all invalidated?
Oh man what a bad way to implement the system LOL.

Not on our stats its not - to clarify that the stats we use internally are not affected by the Tally Screen (we track it differently), the website API uses the tally screen to track match data.
1 -
Does that mean the kill rates and escape rates are affected by abandon?
0 -
no they are not, as if the survivor uses the "abandon" feature it is counted as a kill on our data.

Sorry, i meant the personal kill and escape rates on the stats website. If it uses the tally screen for recent match history, does it use the tally screen for all other stats on there?
0 -
ahh okay, sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes it's looking like the personal data is using the tally screen information - not our internal data…so it won't accurately reflect what happened in that match if the abandon feature is used :(

Mandy, I played a survivor game where I used the abandon button, and it’s been over 48 hours, and that game still isn’t showing on the official stat tracker. (I took a screenshot of my official stats before the survivor game, so I could compare before and after).
There is definitely something wrong with the official stats, when survivors use the abandon button. I’ve been running experiments, where I’ve been pressing the abandon button (as survivor) as soon as it appears, and my escape rate for the last 30 days is unreasonably and unrealistically high.
Edit: Sorry, I posted this before seeing your message above.0 -
Okay thanks for clarification :)

will this get addressed?

Yes I thought the same. The DC before the mori just doesn't sit right with me if they aren't being slugged. I'm pretty sure this is not what the system was designed for.
-2 -
yes most definitely
3 -
ngl I think the same - Abandon system should be for cases where the game is being drawn out over a period of time imo and just skipping the mori doesn't fit that criteria to me.
1 -
Why not though? If the match is over for a player why not let them move on if they so choose?
Is the win not complete without rubbing it in?
2 -
Interesting. So it's essentially an official version of NightLight (using the results screen). What data is it pulling from to get older stats then?

I'm sorry but everything that has been changed about communication regarding match outcome for a while now has been very unnecessarily confusing. Does this mean that the feedback players get is not the same as the internal stats the matches contribute to? There really needs to be some uniformity to outcome weight if they're being treated as two separate entities. Whats the point of purposely and unnecessarily misrepresenting outcomes to the consumer?

at the same time though, removing this would open the window for a killer to slug for as long as they like, no?
Like I agree, but how would we avoid the Mori skipping-1 -
You’re spitting facts 💯!

my understanding - it’s a glitch. It wasn’t intentional, it’s something they plan to fix. They probably didn’t even realize it was doing this until it was brought to their attention.
