Dead by Daylight always takes an eternity to download
Why does dead by daylight always take an eternity to download? It takes so long every time it is just annoying. I have this issue every time.
It is not my PC being bad. I downloaded Hitman World of Assassinations recently and installing the whole game (66 GB) took less time than switching from DBD main to PTB. So unless yall are installing AAA games in literal seconds, I refuse to believe this.
I know not everyone has this issue, does anybody know how to get a normal download speed?

It’s weird ‘cause for a while PTB’s downloaded pretty quickly, but this one’s taking an actual hour.

Downloading a game fresh is different from patching an existing installation. Your download speed seems to be alright considering your Hitman example. What storage media do you have DBD on?

It's due to the size of this PTB, its something in the region of 42GB for this one due to an Engine Update on the PTB.

for what purpose was the engine updated if i might ask? just general improvements (like code structure/stability) or to make it be able to handle more stuff (like heavy effects/textures or heavy loads of code being pushed through)

BHVR has been keeping up with Unreal engine updates so they don't fall too far behind and have to do a major overhaul later. There doesn't need to be a target feature.
