If You Could Add/Change 1 Thing Then Remove/Change 1 Thing From DBD, What Would It Be?

Title.

For me, Id personally add Exhaustion perks/add-ons to Killer.

Not add them as in "you get a Speed Boost after X time" but more like the Blight Serum where after hooking a Survivor you get a mini-power that you can use, it would be cool to see something like this to give some of the weaker Killers a bit of a boost.

Finally, Id remove/change the "Universal Exhaustion Timer", or the 60/50/40 Exhaustion timers we see across almost all Exhaustion perks (Smash Hit and Background Player are the only exceptions to this rule as of today).

Id like to see Exhaustion duration actually SCALE with how strong the Exhaustion perk is and/or how difficult it is to activate. This could be a good way of encourage more diverse builds, allowing for weaker or less picked Exhaustion perks to shine more than before.

    id add the Lightburn mechanic to Wraith and Nurse; Wraith is such a snoozefest to face; can't see him, no auras, bodyblocks everything, makes loops super unsafe. Real stimulating gameplay when they have fast break speed+ aura on cloak. Flashing a Nurse as she is charging was always fun to see.

    Id remove linked cosmetics. my interest in cosmetics died pretty much as soon as we were no longer able to break sets. I could rant all day about how Cheryl has no unlinked pants. I miss my arrow-riddled Minotaur Oni and Headless Legion. too many cosmetics keep coming out that have a piece that kills the set. We had a Gabe Firemoon skin accidentally unlink for a time and it was beautiful. I'm still a tad miffed about the Jill debacle where BHVR was double dipping on default cosmetics and their answer to that was to refund Jill's cosmetics and link the set.

    No CrossPlay or MMR. But I don't think the game would have survived without CrossPlay.

    Add: an option to use the old powers of killers who got reworked to a point where their gameplay changed substantially (except Legion).

    Remove: Wesker.

    add: chatwheel / basic pings for survivors (to streamline most basic things like who goes to hook or what to do so people dont have to read each other minds).

    change: win condition for killer is a particular amount of stages (designed to be either current patch / month / week average for killers in the mmr range or generally set by devs with an expectation this is competitively viable win condition).

    balancing is still done for killrates and goalpost is moved to 50-55% killrate

    killer player should only lose if survivors are actually better as a team, but killer should not be able to consistently 3-4k regardless of what kind of survivors they face to a reasonable degree.

    Hag becomes the new DbD super villain people pitch fork over OR both sides get buffed out the wahzoo and there’s nothing that isn’t busted in this game. Pure chaos.

    Add: Shanoa and Simon Belmont as legendary skins, as well as making sure a character comes in as a legendary atleast before making a cosplay of them as it just makes people unhappy they lost the chance at their favorite characters and now have to play someone else dressed up as them.

    Remove: the censorship of weather or not a character is allowed to have sexy cosmetics or not. Its getting confusing when 1-2 characters habe jiggle physics and 1/2 the characters have shorts under skirts while the others have underwear, when some killers are practicly naked and yet they "tone down" stuff like huntresses new outfit etc, and the backpacks added to half the swimsuits to avoid showing too much back skin or making sure all female survivors with a swimsuit must have some kind of shorts or long skirt lol

    Yeah I still miss old Coldwind and the very dark horror aesthetic of the old version(s) of DBD. It doesn't feel like a horror game at all anymore and I think it lost a lot of its charm and vibe because of that.

    I would add back horror too and make maps night time.

    I would remove the weird and very weak loops they added as an obvious nerf to survivor while also reducing map sizes.

    I'd remove any kind of killer dashes and rework them to go back to the classic style of DBD as non-dash killers but add a unique twist to replace those dashes. We have WAY too much of a divide between killers who can dash and killers who cannot, and the devs keep balancing around the expectation that every killer player plays dash killers which end up hurting the m1 killers even more. Things would be far easier to balance without killers flying around the map all over the place - especially ones that just make a direct 500 mph flight to the hook the moment they hear an unhook notification.

    I'd like the game to go back to focusing on the m1 killers and design more like Ghostie\Myers\Trapper\Pig but buff them up a bit and have less killers like ghoul\blight\nurse.

    I would add perks and add-ons which give benefits for finding different items in the trial. Not totems, but objects which are more specific. As a basic example, a healing perk which requires harvesting bushes which spawn on the map with the perk.

    For removal (or rather a change which would be a nerf), I'd remove the notification when a survivor is rescued from where they were hooked to the HUD. That way, a killer will know who has been unhooked, but perhaps less likely in the fog of war to remember where that survivor was hooked. A mild anti-tunnel mechanic which perhaps won't affect experienced players as much, but newer players may have more time to recover.

    Add: I think Breakable Walls and their placements in maps should be redesigned around Killers being able to Kool-Aid through them. (during neutral walks only, so they can't be dashed/lunged through)

    Remove: Jackie Earl Haley's Freddy Kreuger, replaced with Robert Englund's Freddy Kreuger.

    Just one thing? That's tough and I'll try not repeating an answer.

    Add/remove (change): the entire concept of rarities for items/addons on both survivor and killer. No need for levels of addons that indirectly justify broken stuff because they are rare to get. The goal instead is all addons are just balanced on their overall performance.
