Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

time to change map offerings to 50% chance

currently we have blue rarity (so pretty rare for offerings) map offerings that have a 20% chance to trigger.

and thats probability. i played 13 matches in a row before my map offering finally send me to the map i wanted to

on top of that we have a BROWN (aka something most ppl have several 100's of) offering that completely counters map offerings.

idk how any of this makes sense, but literally change map offerings to be brown (the bad option)

or change them to give a 50% chance to send us to the picked map (the far better option)

The changes were fine and needed.

If they were going to change them further, it would make far more sense to allow killers to choose the map at a 100% rate to allow specific builds to work while Survivors have the option of banning maps with their add-ons. Add in Sacrificial Wards for Survivors as well, of course.

I've only seen a killer bring a map offering not related to their build / when trying to get adept a small handful of times. Meanwhile, when playing killer I was being brought to Autohaven, Eyrie, or The Game every other match.

Well, majority of players hated maps. So they are gone…
    Hope it makes sense now.

Not really, you think I enjoyed killers bringing me to indoor maps?
I just loved all those Nurses on Midwitch….

I hated both, only difference is you have seen it done by survivors more, which makes sense.

Absolutely not, I don't want to have a 50% chance to go to Haddonfield against any Killer or a 50% chance to go to Eyrie against a SWF. The nerfs were needed, fair, and fix the balance of the game.

Next time maybe the players of the game won't abuse something to tilt the game in their favor, and then stuff won't get hard nerfed like this.

It would also help the situation tremendously if Behavior did a full balance pass of the maps and fixed the major outliers.

As you can see here survivors were bringing map offerings far more than killers ever did and directly for a competitive advantage. (see most maps played for offering are heavily surv sided)

So for the sake of change I'm glad they are not used as much anymore, constant trips to eyrie of crow is enough to make anyone want to retire.

Why should the killer get to choose a map at 100% success rate but not the survivors? It's not any more fair regardless of which side does it. The offering nerfs were needed for both sides, no one should be able to guarantee a map.

It's an asymmetric game; killer is supposed to be the power role.

As I said in that post, there are also specific builds that require certain maps to work, such as Scratched Mirror Myers.

But let me be more clear… I'm in favor of leaving it the way it is now. 20% chance is fine. All I'm saying is that, if they wanted to change it further, turning it into a better game of cat and mouse where the killer can choose one map but four survivors have the opportunity to block it would be a lot more fair than the old system used to be.

If we want Scratched Mirror Myers back, we have to demand the Devs add more indoor maps. Not buff Map Offerings. Map Offerings tilted the game too much, it wasn't fair, I'm glad they were nerfed - and I used to like to run around playing Ghostface of the Lerys when you could.
