Following the DBD Satisfaction Survey – Here's My Wishlist for Improvements
Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking about what changes most of us might agree the game needs—whether it's map reworks, balance tweaks, or quality-of-life improvements. I’ll share some of my thoughts below, and I’d love to hear what you all think.
Map Reworks
Backwater Swamp
This map is frustrating to play on for both sides. It was introduced back when the Hag was added, and honestly, it hasn’t aged well with the current state of the game.
Badham Preschool
Probably the most survivor-sided map in the game. It’s extremely unfun for most M1 killers. The main building is overpowered, most generators are safe, and it's hard to apply pressure effectively.
Forgotten Ruins
Basically the opposite of Badham. This map has too few pallets and not enough usable resources, turning the endgame into a giant dead zone. Survivors have almost nothing to work with.
Problematic Perks
Vigil
Right now, Vigil feels like the most abusable perk in the game. It dramatically reduces exhaustion times, negating several killer perks like Friends 'Til the End, Make Your Choice, Hubris, etc. It also makes killers who rely on the hindered debuff—like Freddy or Clown—basically useless. The main issue is that it's stackable. For what it offers, I think it should lose the team-wide effect and become a personal perk only.
Blood Favor
This perk creates free downs with almost no effort. It can turn entire areas into dead zones just for landing a single hit. Being a Hex doesn’t really balance it, since it usually secures 2–3 downs before getting cleansed. Losing a chase because of just one hit feels really bad—especially in solo queue, where it’s even more punishing.
Quality of Life Suggestions
Map Bans
While it’s great to have a variety of maps, there’s no way all 40+ killer powers were balanced for every single one. How are you supposed to play Hillbilly on RPD or Hawkins Lab? How do you patrol gens effectively on huge maps like Ormond or Resort with 4.4 m/s killers? And don’t get me started on M1 killers in the Saw map or stealth killers on super open maps. Letting us ban a map or two would massively improve the experience. Hopefully, the upcoming map voting system from Behaviour includes something like this.
Limit Gen Regression Perks
This might be controversial, but hear me out: gen regression stacking is incredibly frustrating. In my opinion, you should only be allowed to bring two regression perks per build. To balance this change, toolboxes shouldn’t be able to recharge their charges through perks, and gen speeds should be slightly nerfed to encourage people to bring at least one perk to speed up gens.
Let me know your thoughts! What changes would you like to see?

I saw it was mostly about player behavior and maybe how people perceive how others are playing and if you are actually having fun.

For a game with 40 killers and this number to continue to grow, I'd love to see a killer ban feature if we're going the route of banning certain maps. Certain killers are blatantly problematic, and rather than be forced to play against something incredibly anti-fun and possibly pay 2 win, I'd rather ban the killer from my queues than play out a pointless solo queue match that was over before it started.

map bans are whatever but if you're going to limit gen regression perks you have to heavily nerf survivors in all aspects to compensate

I don't think there should be a limit but how often do you see more than two regression perks in a game?

I'd gladly trade a killer ban feature for the option not to have to queue against 3/4 man SWF

This would make matchmaking impossible for certain killers... (nurse/blight/kaneki/knight/cenobite etc etc)

Exactly. If these killers are not balanced, why should anybody be forced to play against things that are unhealthy? Even though Cenobite and Knight will still get matches, I can predict the winner the moment the game starts if it will be Nurse, Blight, or Ghoul. I wonder if the developers even play their own game, as these three shouldn't exist in their current states if you want to classify Dead by Daylight as a PvP game.

blood favour shouldnt be a hex and needs to affect only the closest pallet to the survivor when you hit them.

They exist the way they do because they refuse to nerf 4 man SWF ::shrug::

no clue i never stick around to look at a killers build but i'd rather have the option

Multiple times a day, every day I play. Killers love a regression perk these days.

My guy, you can't nerf having friends. That just isn't how that works. Quite frankly, as someone who plays survivor both solo queue and with friends (sometimes up to a 4 person SWF), while it definitely helps game play to have teammates who aren't going to leave me on hook, try to feed me to the killer, or abandon even when a rescue is very possible, we still lose a lot of games, rarely manage a 4 man escape.
Some people on these forums act like inherently a SWF group is going to curb stomp any killer into the ground, and it just ain't true.

so your saying knight and cenobite are "unbalanced"??? they are both B tier at BEST

Map Reworks
Where is Haddonfield?

No, you are the one saying they are considering you wrote them in your own first message. I'm saying they're not and would get matches. I honestly don't think you even read the things you type out.

when did i say cenobite and knight are unbalanced? i just said that if the devs implement a killer ban feature that they wont get matches due to survivors disliking their gameplay loop. Stop attacking me for no reason and come with actual arguments. instead of buh buh unbalanced this and that…

You brought up an argument, saying that I'm calling Cenobite and Knight overpowered when I didn't. Saying that I don't feel like you read the things you're typing is not an attack when you want to make things up out of what I'm writing. Beyond that, I will not respond to you further; you're a biased player who wants to create drama and fabricate statements.
