Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Élodie deserves better

I don't care if you think I'm just complaining btw.

What's the point of a rift starring Élodie if she only gets a skin, and the charms, badges and banners go to everyone BUT her? Is she not one of the two central characters? Last I checked, Mikaela and Felix weren't yet Felix got a figurine charm and Mikaela got a badge and banner. Élodie deserves the same treatment as every other central survivor of a tome/rift because unlike everyone before her in the last couple rifts, she has nothing to show for it.

She is coming on five years since she was released in the game and the treatment of her character has been incredibly disappointing. She and Felix have a long, rich history that involves the Pariahs, the loss of their family and some insight on the cults dedicated to the Entity, but neither of their stories have been expanded upon at all.

And this doesn't even get into the incredibly disappointing execution of her cosmetics. She is constantly getting poorly made, disrespectful and even unfinished cosmetic pieces.

She just received a Waterfront Massacre skin a few weeks ago, and the hair for the headpiece was so poorly made. I created a bug report already for it because it is in such a bad state. The braids are flat and stringy, the hair floats above her shoulders, the edges are poorly drawn on her forehead, her scalp has the default shaved head texture. I don't understand how this passed quality assurance?? It's especially egregious because the devs just went back and fixed a bunch of hair models and textures for black characters a few months ago and then released this not long after.

And then her new rift skin came out and I was so excited for her to get a new skin with several deep rift variants. I was so happy to see the key art because I just knew they were going to be combo-able (sarcasm) and had potential to be really great… but I was wrong. The shorts in game are NOT the shorts advertised in the key art. Upon release, they suffer the same issues with a lot of her cosmetics where the shorts look ill-fitted, making them hard to look good with any outfit. They are baggy and wide, and she looks like she's wearing a diaper. They're so unflattering and they're all added to the long list of Élodie cosmetics that are unusable since they aren't executed well and just don't look good (see: her entire Gala outfit, Pyjama outfit, etc).

How the rift shorts look in game:

A fanmade edit showcasing how the shorts SHOULD look compared to the key art (and would actually look good and able to be used with other cosmetic pieces):

The devs are clearly capable of modeling decent braids (see: Orela default) and good looking short shorts/hot pants (see: Sable and Mikaela's skins in the current rift) so why can't Élodie's cosmetics EVER be executed well? Has there been a single skin of hers that hasn't had issues upon release? Why does she always get disappointing, lackluster treatment compared to a lot of the other survivors? She already has a low pickrate of all the female survivors and her poor treatment and lackluster skins don't help that.

I'm still waiting on Rifts for Adam and Jeff, but BHVR thought it was more important to double up on Yui and Jane, like they needed the attention.
