We've heard your response to our recent communications, and we know that right now solid action is what's needed.
We wanted to shed some light on the next steps the Dead by Daylight team is taking to address the current state of the game.

Glad to see a roadmap, although unfortunately as a community we’ve been burned so many times in recent history that I’m going to have to wait and see actual results before I take get my hopes up.

Can you tell us what the slugging, tunneling, and camping updates are? It feels like Killers are beginning to be punished for playing the game.

I stand with you on this. Sounds good. Let’s see this in action. It’s what is needed, it’s what we want, thank you for this.
We appreciate the communication and ultimately, the time it will take to fix this stuff. This type of work means more to me than a fancy outfit or a new fancy killer.

This sounds good, but we still have to wait and see the actual results. Hopefully there will be attention paid to community feedback as these QoL updates happen.

Well I'll be, chapters got pushed back to focus on issues like the community asked. Absolute W.
MMR rework worries me a little...depending on how it's handled, it could greatly reduce the "casual" potential of the game...but we'll see. I honestly just don't want to be sent against comp squads way beyond my level just because I sometimes go friendly after 8-hooking.
Perk preview....
If Survivors can see their teammates' perks in lobby, every effort and changes made to deal with lobby-dodging will have been for nothing. Hell, there's even a recent thread by someone saying that they want to see other players' perks so they won't play with "achievement-taker" and "jokers and noobs".
In matches, sure. However I think that giving special effects to perks for info for their team would do good.
Head-on, when ready, could highlight the locker in yellow for the other Survivors, making it possible for SoloQ players to know what's going on and play around it.
Deliverance/Wicked, when active, should show up on the HUD in some way, so the other Survivors know that there's no need to rush for the save (a great step in bridging the gap between SWF and SoloQ).

Hey Ryan, can you share more about myers please like i love myers like hes my everything ive been a childhood fan since i saw the movies and in dbd i main him.
Like if you can squeeze out any information from the team if it will be full rework, or minor, moderator or major?

Question. How will ‘High Priority/Impact on Killer issues. How will this work?. Do we have to submit the issues ourselves or will the team go through every killer and find any issues.

Im so worried, his stalk ability is perfection, all he lacks is a secondary ability that can make him keep up with freddy and other killers.
Not necessarily teleport ability or dash or anything, like something similar from movies where he gets faster and more ruthless as in movies and ability to put like a decoy version of himself to stalk and make survivors scream and alert or something

Postponing and maybe stretching the speed of new content release dates might be a thing that actually helps everyone and prevents situations like the last 2 or 3 weeks.
I think everyone in here rather waits 2 months longer for a new character - may it be survivor or killer side - than getting a mess full of bugs because the schedule was too ambitioned.
Quality over quantity and please stick to that.

would you be able to clarify on high piority / impact killer issue as i hope you meaning base gameplay for example base corrupt and not just bug fixes on killers

This is a step in the right direction, but we'll have to see some tangible results before trust is rebuilt with the community. Do what you guys gotta do to get the game back on track.

Its time to more quality of life patches and less characters chapters. We have so many characters in the game now. Its time to improve the gameplay. Scenarios ( storms, wind, snow, thunderstorm, day, night,) focus in another things. Just 2 chapter per year 1 per semester is perfect. Please improved the gameplay and variations about it. Give us more surprises and experiences about atmosphera in general. Please

They are talking about bugs affecting the killer’s performance causing frustrations..they have a massive pile to deal with.

I noticed that there is no direct mention of Skull Merchant in this roadmap. Is that because she will not be receiving changes during the period the roadmap encompassess, or because she was just not mentioned?

I believe the Reddit AMA stated Skull Merchant (and Trickster) had her rework lined up for early 2026.

Behavior keeps making updates incorrectly, so please publish your to-do list.
If you publish the list, users will be able to point out any bugs that are missing.Users will respond within a few hours.
This is more efficient than repeatedly making useless updates and fixing them.
That's what it means to not ignore the community.

I don't understand why survivors keep getting nerfed. You added a new item that was exciting to use and now you have completely destroyed it, it is see through, killers can still track right through it and now you have limited its use to two uses?
Why do you all favor killer side so much. I'm new to forum but I've played dbd since 2017. This is a gross undertaking to give hope to the survivor community by establishing a new item, that was working well, allowing for new play styles, and then you completely snuff it out.
Killers should only have three perks with their power. Survivors should have their 4 perks and useable items. It's just too much... The game was the best back in the first few years, terrifying and exciting, the most nail-biting game of glorified hide and seek, but now after having tried to fix camping and tunneling and slugging, the problems have gotten even worse.
The only good out of any of this is being able to bot out immediately after an egomaniacal killer main decides to end the match in the first two minutes at 5 gens.
Unplayable mess.

Thanks for sharing. Shame the MMR rework is so far away as I think that's a major factor in lack of game enjoyment these days. Glad that bug fixes are taking priority though.

@MoZo I hope a 3rd hotfix is going to be a permanent part of their routine along with what they mentioned today in their video. This is mandatory at this point, and will overall help keep the playerbase in the longterm SO much more happy as it will provide a healthier and cleaner experience for everyone.

I think it's safe to say that what happened in the recent weeks can rightfully be considered an All-Shaking Blunder.
The time to lock in and get something done is now, and this looks promising. But we need to see actual results.8 -

I think that this will mainly be issues that bother killers, like the many, many bugs there are now.
For survivor side, they may be removing kidnap tech and stuff like that.

That would be cool too, like maybe basekit PWYF too for him or improved bloodlust.
I do want his iri's reworked fully because i just run scratched or vanity mirorr which doesnt give much value in high mmr lobbies.
In lower end lobbies its fun enjoyable and in high mmr not so much

This is a good idea for Ghostface too imo. Helps them traverse the map and works for surprise attacks, I like it!

I panic every time BHVR decides to go back and touch up old killers, especially killers that are very unique in the game like Myers. I really hope they can keep his identity. I love how much his add-ons affect how he is played and counted.
I worry about Tombstone the most. I know a lot of players complain about Tombstone but there are also many who enjoy playing against it. It makes the game a lot more scary/tense and creates new ways to interact with the game. Suddenly survivors need to focus on positioning and being near lockers or gens near chase in order to force grabs.
I personally do not think Judith's Tombstone add-on is broken or needs changes, however I would not be bothered if BHVR removed or heavily reworked Tombstone Piece.
As long as Myers has some form of Tombstone I will be more or less satisfied.

Both the tombstone addons need to be completely reworked.
It's absolutely ridiculous that Pig and Sadako had their alternate kill conditions massively massively nerfed, but Myers can still force an instant kill with far less effort, and far less counterplay.

I get nervous honestly when its just any killer that is listed for a "Rework"
The creativity is limitless but we need better directions for reworks for our killers.

For Tombstone Piece I completely agree, it needs to be reworked. However, Judith's Tombstone has fine counterplay.
Judith's Tombstone Myers takes some time to charge up so players paying attention can get a feeling for whether he has it or not based on how long it takes for Myers to tier up. Also he would be able to instadown in T3 anyways, so forcing grabs or getting in lockers isn't even that much different than if he wasn't running Tombstone.
Judith's Tombstone just requires survivors to be more aware of their surroundings and to make sure they don't end up in a bad situation. If a player can't find a locker or doesn't know to stay on a gen to force him to waste his time or hook, thats a problem with the player.

Judith's Tombstone also needs to be reworked. Sadako and Pig's alternate kills had counterplay, but they still got super nerfed.
The tombstone addons are outdated, and should never exist in modern DBD. Alternate kills need way more counterplay, like Sadako and Pig currently have.

Yeah, the only counterplay to Tombstone is to give him free hooks by hiding in lockers. And then the game can flag you for throwing and give you a penalty via the go-next prevention system. And that's a big problem.

Yeah i agree, only thing i would prefer is if the michael has two iri addon is for him to lose progress if he has not been activly stalking.
that should make it more interesting since i do main myers but i refuse his tomb build its boring and does not do him justice for waiting in Q.

Gonna need to see this put into action, and successfully at that, before I trust in BHVR again. We got a promise like this just a few months ago, and look where we are now. Talk is cheap.

That is more of an issue on the side of Pig and Sadako, ESPECIALLY Sadako.
Her condemned is EXTREMELY lenient.
Tombstone Piece is BS, yes. But Judith's Tombstone requires the collective IQ to be lukewarm and a fair amount of commitment.
If we are strictly talking counterplay, making the "open palm, closed palm" a Tombstone tell and maybe a bit more could be the way to go.
