Dev Updates are becoming a bad thing.

Honestly a question, is it a bad thing for BHVR to do the dev updates before the PTB notes hits?

Like I am watching Streamers and content creators come out and share such a worry and honestly I dont think its healthy both mentally for us as people. But its also detrimental to the content, cause there is a trillion worries and questions and we cant confirm or get answer for like 5 days, so what is the point honestly?

What would be wrong with skipping the worry and pain, and releasing the dev update with the PTB and the notes at the same time. Honestly as a community thing, this just seems like trying to shoot ourselves in the foot twice instead if one time.

The Community Managers kind of has to realize that teasing players who don't like a change before you give them the change they don't like on PTB is like twice the misery as far as I can see it.

Community Managers is this really the best way this can be done?

Like I know you removed the patch notes from the Dev Updates, because there were always changes not set in stone yet. So if the purpose of the Dev update is to tell us what you are doing then that ALSO defeats the purpose of itself cause when you tell us what you are doing then we wanna know precisely what you are doing.

So why not wait until PTB day? I cant think of a good reason why we do it like this.

I think there goal here is “Transparency”.

They are simply trying to be informative. The reactions given based off information isn’t really in there control and to be fair people need to hold their reactive feelings UNTIL testing is open and available.

If that is their goal, is it really transparent to just double up on telling us what will happen two times within a weeks time?

I appreciate the info, info is nice, but half info which is in complete creates so much worry and questions.
Yes, I agree maybe they SHOULD hold their reactive feelings, but we are already getting calls for reworks of these new systems.

So my point is, why not take the human into consideration here?

To be constructive, Im not a community manager nor trained in such. I think it would be much better to a dev update telling us for example. How big a problem tunneling is? The data guys MUST have had some data on this to show why this is important to fix. Once you laid the ground works for why there needs change in the game, then you can just put the patch notes on PTB day a week later.

What do you think, wouldn't that be more transparent?

I totally hear you and you make some great points truly!

I think your plan would also work quite well and give a nice layout for why and what’s to come, killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

I hate that you're being downvoted for this.
Releasing a dev update without concrete values is driving so many people crazy right now and it's utterly pointless.
It's nice to have early updates but like… We can't even play so what do we do? We cry on forums and Twitter?
In the meantime we just imagine scenarios or whatever. Completely useless.

Yeah, but im kinda being critical of the community's uncontrolled panic here so it was never going to do well.
It does not matter really, BHVR will look at an idea and value it on its merits and how much sense it makes rather than just popularity. So Im not worried, I just wanted to make sure BHVR Community Managers got to consider this.
