Major gameplay changes but the PTB system fails everyone
Console players still can’t access the PTBs, and it’s a bigger issue than ever with these vital gameplay changes. So much feedback gets missed since console players are a big part of the community.
One Reddit user had a great idea (shoutout u/AgentDigits):
"I feel like they need to find a way to create some kind of in-game PTB mode so they can test stuff more regularly and get console users involved too. Some kind of LTM like 2v8 that lasts a week or so to get some quick feedback between major PTBs.
The current way that PTBs work is just terrible. They're too far apart and lots of feedback gets ignored. Plus the majority of players can't even get involved with it as they play on console."
I also agree that PTBs should be used more regularly to get quick feedback between major updates. The devs really need to address this.

It's not just the consoles left out, who are by far the majority of the playerbase, but also Windows and Epic too. Stadia couldn't use it either while that existed.
Both DayZ and Minecraft have separate "Experimental" versions on Xbox, and I imagine the PlayStations have something similar, so it's possible but requires work.

I totally forgot about PTBs exclusively only working on Steam. Kinda crazy actually. But wouldn't it work as like a LTM? I thought it sounded like a cool idea and a possible solution to this issue.

There must be a reasonable way to do it. Not having something like 80% of the playerbase unable to test things, especially an update this monumentally sweeping, is indeed crazy. And there's no way most of those on Steam that can access the PTB actually do either.
