Where the hell did Springtrap go?
I used to see him in every game as survivor but now I don’t see him at all. he used to be like a fart in a carwash, you couldn’t escape the guy, but now I rarely ever see him. In the last 2 weeks I’ve only ever went against a Springtrap twice. Did his pick rate drop to the abyss or something or is it just me?

Yes, people stopped playing him because he is weak.
That and his power left a lot to be desired.

I feel that, I was definitely one of the few that was just disappointed with springtrap and this is coming from someone who’s been a Fnaf fan since the first game released. But it’s still baffles me how he went from everywhere to nowhere. Like seriously bro, went through the Metroman ark from Megamind.

He said he aways comes back, but he did not not come back, he fell off😭
I want some justice for spingus.

you may not recognize me at first, but I assure you, it's me.

Banger quote but I don’t think anyone wants to be reminded of burntrap’s jimmy neutron sized cranium.

For me he is one of the most boring killers of the "New Era of DBD", I'm glad I don't see him so often anymore🤣even the new PTB killer seems much funnier than Springtrap to me

honestly I have not been this hype for an original killer since unknown

I barely see him anymore either, and when i do they are not very good at him unfortunately. Although he's personally my new main.
I do not like the narrative going around that he's weak, i think he's pretty solid and better than the average killer.12 -
Not weak but mediocre and he is somewhere in b-tier which isnt bad but problem with these killers is onece you go against decent survivors without best perks and addons these killers if they dont get upper hand in the early stage of the match and keep holding it they will mostly feel supper weak and if they have bad chases like missing his axe too much then you will loose and end up in endgame camping hook which isnt fun compare to just haveing more interesting chases and much more of them with some a-tier killer like wesker or vecna.

Why would I want to play a stealth killer with fake stealth? His footsteps are so massively loud, that survivors are often long gone by the time the killer gets there, even when he’s undetectable.
So we have a fake stealth killer, with Huntress hatchets that are way way worse than Huntress hatchets, and he gives survivors the ability to teleport around the map.

I still see him from time to time, but I am glad its calmed down. I find him pretty boring. Just a budget Huntress and Dredge combo.

He is weak, he has to deal with.
- Crippling weakness to pre-running .
- Ambience going out when teleporting.
- The screen tells you when he is coming.
- 110 at base when most other ranged killers do not have to deal with this.
- His doors can be used against him to gen rush him harder.
- Free aura reveals through walls against him ignoring undetectable.
- A projectile so small that if you throw it at someone in a corner it will phase through them.
- A projectile with probably the longest cool-down if not one of the longest cool-downs in the game.
- A mid-range projectile that limps into the ground probably the second worst projectile in the game just ahead of trickster.
- Super loud and clunky can be heard a long way away and makes it difficult to mind game or be stealthy.
- Has the second most time consuming teleport in the game as he has to walk to it then chose where to go taking a lot up a lot of time the same problem as Xeno.
- There is no risk in using his teleport as a surv as the game tells you when he is busy requiring an add-on just to even possibly get any value.
- His axe secondary effect is borderline useless (The fire aura).
So nearly every ranged/mid-ranged killer can do what he does but better, more consistently and far more effectively.

and I respect the hell out of you for being one of the few people that actually does main him, it’s just that he’s not for me which is disappointing as hell considering that I’ve been a fan of the franchise for years.

Fact is he is on weaker side on higher end of the game but he can do fine if he hits his shots and thats on mid range harder than with huntress only on lower loops where he can easily throw over but thruth is his mobility is easy to prerun and his axe is much easier to doge if he isnt close enough.

For as long as I have Hollow Shells, Survivor Puddings and Bloody Party Streamers on him to spend, you will see me pop up out of those doors!

and I couldn’t be happier

Maybe the outcry from his release wasn't as bad as they made it out to be. Even after the bugs were fixed.

OK status update the situation has gotten worse. I’m seeing Twins more than I’m seeing Springtrap

Honestly, you probably saw him alot as he drew alot of new players to the game. Alot of them likely decided this game wasnt for them and are simply no longer playing anymore. Most of the older established playerbase already have their favourites theyve probably gone back to.

New players leaving and the fact that while hes strong, he isnt fun and doesn't have engaging gameplay.
I've heard from some fans of fnaf that they were disappointed in the adaptation just being teleporting Huntress.

It may be me you are seeing, lol. I'm a twins main xD Not many of us exist :P

you have my full respect for maining her i’m not even kidding.

tyvm! lots of ups and downs with them… usually with a lot of bugs, lol. I almost cried because of the update. The one killer that has to slug to get pick ups was going to be ruined with the update =/ That's one killer that should of really gotten compensation since literally there is no way around it. Hopefully when they come back to this idea, next time they keep us twins players in mind :3

Hes essentially a weaker huntress/Xenomorph. His axe is just terrible compared to huntress hatchets.
3 -
He gets his axe back without needing to stop at a locker and reload
Without his axe he's faster without the need of an add-on
The axe can apply buffs and debuffs with or without hitting someone
He has map traversal with built-in Undetectable
Of course his axe doesn't behave the same as Huntress' hatchets. If it did, who would bother playing Huntress? It's just part of his kit, not his entire power.-2 -
Idk I find him kind of boring after a while, best thing about ranged killers is hitting long range shots or really nasty shots, this is ofc possible on Springtrap but more limited since he can't really throw far like Huntress, Unknown and even Pinhead with heart.

I don't think a dip in usage is really unusual after a killer has been out for a minute. I might be in the minority from what I hear around here, but I barely see Kaneki either. I also think many of the curious new players the game got from FNAF have likely fallen off by now.

According to Nightlight.gg, his pick rate at release was 26.0%, last month it was 7.95% and this month it's 6.42%. He's still above average, but given there are as many killers as there are, once the hype dies down it's only natural that killer appearances drop off as people go back to their mains.
Wesker and Huntress are still the most popular killers apparently, but I hardly see them commonly enough to conclude them being such from my perspective.

As it turns out, being 4.4 m/s with a power that has a 7-10 cooldown really sucks and encourages you to play in a boring, zoning type of way or risk having the match snowball out of your control if you miss too much. Like sure you become 4.6 m/s when you throw the hatchet but…who cares? Who's threatened by a 4.6 m/s killer without a power these days? Why not just play another mid-range zoning killer that's always 4.6 m/s that can actually spam their power (or has 3 powers like Dracula) to their heart's content at that point?
The teleport is just kinda bad and inconsistent due to the giveaways, same as his stealth. And you give the ability to teleport and occassionally reveal the killer to the survivors, yippee.
Great audio design, great visuals/animations, great voice acting, half-baked power design. No reason to play him unless you're farming for orbital clips.

Well, i can think of a lot of reasons to play Springtrap over both of these killers.
Springtrap's fire axe is better suited for short-mid range, because it goes faster for the time it takes to charge, and he moves faster when charging. It has a smaller collision with the environment and the arc allows it to be thrown over obstacles. When his axe is lodged into a survivor he does lose it for 10s but he becomes 4.6m/s and this is better on maps with LOS breakers because it allows you to close the distance and whilst your power is on cooldown you won't be needing it anyway. He also doesn't get punished much for missing, having a short cooldown often means you can follow up with an m1 and you will be 4.6m/s and able to recall the axe anytime you need it. Meanwhile Huntress is built for long range hits which imo isn't very practical and she also gets punished a lot more for missing, basically being forced to drop chase if she runs out of ammo.
When it comes to Xenomorph, Security Doors are better in my opinion. Because they are tons faster. Xenomorph's tunnels are more built for detecting survivors. The tail attack has similar applications but i dont find it to be a very intuitive attack, it has limited range too of course and you can't hold it like a projectile. Fire turrets are also a major obstacle for any Xenomorph player, double turrets straight up have no counter. Springtrap has security cameras but they are barely even used because they are too risky of a time investment without knowing player locations beforehand. And even if you do get revealed. Wall hacks isn't gonna shut down a ranged killer. He can also disable cameras himself too.
TL;DR : He has a lot of differences that makes all 3 of them not suitable replacements for each other.4 -
I don't think his teleport is bad. The fact he can show up at any door at no cooldown with 3 seconds notice is very strong. You're able to surveil the map better than any killer. For that reason he doesn't really need his stealth but he has it anyway.

recently i encountered a Houndmaster this time still no Springtrap

Springtrap had his 5 minutes but now people went back to strong and rewarding killers. Maybe one day he will return.

He has a single axe that takes 10 seconds to get back if he misses, and 12 seconds if he gets a hit
A 5% speed boost is not enough compensation, hes just an m1 killer at that point
The undectable does nothing, since hes loud asf. He also gives a visual cue when hes tping to a door
As everyone else is saying, super lackluster killer, pretty obvious power creep too, its super unoriginal what he does

Happens to all new killers when they are not new anymore, except Wesker. But there are too many killers now so this is normal.

As many others have said, it's simply the pool getting bigger the more Killers are added to it. Krasue is our fortieth if I'm not mistaken, meaning in just two and a half years you could genuinely play 50 different matches and face a wholly unique horror each time.
Kinda wild isn't it? Unfortunately means Afton is probably never gonna be as common as a lot of the old killers were back in the day, but I still see him often enough to not be salty about it. It's most surreal getting chased by him around Swamp cause of how unchanged it is.
