Legion's Feral Frenzy Still Feels SO Sluggish

This """"high speed""""" killer is moving 15% faster during their """""high speed"""" power.


Chaining hits genuinely just isn't viable and has never been viable because Legion moves TOO SLOW. Clown can move as fast as Legion with one purple add-on. A cloaked Wraith moves faster than a Legion with 3 Frenzy stacks. Bubba moves faster than Legion at full chainsaw sprint. I cannot even begin to express how bad it feels to be outrun by a survivor PERK during your "high speed" power. Adding a second of duration does nothing to help with these feelings. You could make Feral Frenzy infinite duration and he'd still be a disappointing mess to play because they'd still fail to deliver that high speed killer with complete freedom of movement fantasy.

The issue lies in the fact that just increasing his Feral Frenzy speed would make him extremely difficult to avoid on smaller maps as Legion can actually traverse a lot of distance in Feral Frenzy because it lasts so long. Making him 6.0m/s base would make him exponentially stronger and maybe even unavoidable on certain maps like Forgotten Ruins. So… just make the duration of Frenzy shorter so he can properly sell his power fantasy.

An example of how this could work:

Trigger Feral Frenzy to run at 6.0m/s for 10 seconds. After hitting a survivor in Feral Frenzy the speed of Feral Frenzy increases drastically and the duration refreshes but is lowered.

First hit: 6.4m/s for 9 seconds / 0.8s frenzy vaults (57.6m total distance)

Second: 6.8m/s for 8 seconds / 0.75s frenzy vaults (54.4m total distance)

Third: 7.2m/s for 7 seconds / 0.7s frenzy vaults (50.4m total distance)

Fourth: 7.6m/s for 6 seconds / 0.65s frenzy vaults (45.6m total distance) *These numbers honestly don't matter as by this point the 5th hit is guaranteed regardless of speed.

Yes 7.6m/s sounds crazy for a Killer that has free range of movement. That's almost as fast as Oni's Demon Dash. That is quite literally the point, but I want you to take away the idea not the numbers (numbers can always be tweaked to fit whatever would feel balanced/fair). It's also worth noting their total range SHRINKS per hit during frenzy, lowering their chances of achieving a 5 hit combo if survivors are properly split up. The counterplay in this case becomes "I need to run away from this edgy teenager's terror radius or I will get stabbed" and not "I'm just gonna sit on a gen in their terror radius then when they turn to me I'm gonna hold W and break their legs because they're not really running that fast". Add-ons like Mischief List and Mural Sketch would need to be adjusted.

PS: Legion should have more add-ons dedicated to speed and chaining hits. That is the most fun part of their power and sadly the least supported with add-ons. We don't need 20 status effect or information add-ons for a power that already gives you a ton of free info.

Other noteworthy side effects of this change:

  • Legion is moving so fast during Frenzy it'll be harder to coordinate successful body blocks.
  • Legion would have a higher skill ceiling (still pretty low) as you would have less time to waste to chain hits. Getting stuck on obstacles or having inefficient pathing would be punished harder.
  • Using Feral Frenzy for "map mobility" would be far more effective with the base speed being increased to 6.0m/s.

This version of Legion would sell their power fantasy far better than the current iteration. With the Frenzy hits granting a bonus almost double the current Legion you'll actually feel yourself getting faster and as your momentum grows so does your vault speed. Your duration would shorten with each successful hit urging you to find your next target sooner than the last.

    As much as I complain about solo queue, even I admit that Legion is… kinda weak.

    That's definetly an interesting idea.
    One of few Legion suggestions I have seen that I wouldn't mind. Zooming Legion sounds fun.

    Not sure I would trust devs with tweaking those numbers…

    Legion buff suggestions will never be good so long as the killer can be played by a toddler, in the meantime try playing someone else if you want results, because you don't deserve results for playing such an easy killer

    I read through this a second time because how much I love the idea but I also think it would be cool and dopamine inducing if they added a more notifying sound cue to legion and the survivors to what stab you are on like maybe like when you get to your second stab the terror radius gets changes to a faster pace metal beat and so forth which not only is dopamine inducing but also gives the survivors a indicator that the legion is in power also maybe like make it so the power is isn't almost useless after 1 survivor is out of the game maybe like lowering the fatigue time after power cancelling by like 0.5 seconds or a Frenzy vault speed increase both depending on how many survivors are out of the game or hooked but just an Idea I guess
