I can’t believe survivors are ok with being treated like this
OTR, Tenacity gutted even though the anti slug anti tunnelling patch was scrapped.
Another overturned ghoul 2.0 killer that can vault pallets and get easy double taps.
None of the gen regression perks like pop, pain res getting the planned nerfs but the OTR nerf went through meaning it was intentional.
Y’all get crumbs every update but still continue to queue up. It’s honestly courageous and sad at the same time

All my friends dropped the game already. I only queue up to play killer now when I get the dbd itch, you couldn’t pay me to touch solo queue survivor, it’s torture

We arent. Two of my friends who still played have either uninstalled or swapped to killer. Another friend was open to trying the game via xbox but i talked him out of doing survivor because this would be the WORST first taste of a game ever (no wonder they couldn't keep the fnaf chapter playerbase in the game). I am only playing killer right now. You could not pay me to play survivor after this update. Were the memes true and rapture was last Tuesday (if ya know ya know)), and the price to heaven was playing one survivor match. I would have said no and doomed my immortal soul.
Come tomorrow when silent hill F releases. I am not going to be playing this at all. And once BF6 releases…well ill probably just uninstall until they replace this balance team. If my friends wanna play with me…well its gonna have to phas or something else because there is no way im even looking at the survivor role. I might put a black piece of tape on my screen where it says "survivor" in the main lobby so i don't gag.
16 -
If all my friends left I'd be a killer only player. As it is, I only accept half the invites I get.
11 -
I’m done with survivor myself, bhvr actual messed up big listening to content creators and killer only players whine about the anti tunnel. I’m definitely never spending money on this game ever again. I don’t care what license they bring in. Its not like they will look good anyway with how they do hair now, its a pixelated mess that looks awful.
A mass exodus is needed, it will be the only thing that makes bhvr react.
27 -
Just face it. BHVR favors the killer. Let them keep busting the game and there will be no survivors. The game dies.
24 -
I'm really wondering what gave you the impression that we're okay with being treated like this. Have you seen the countless posts about tunneling and what not?
7 -
I quit survivor earlier in the year, the enjoyment just wasnt there for me anymore unfortunately. Games are great at giving that dopamine hit so people will always continue playing but if people want to voice unhappiness then simply stop buying auric cells and cosmetics. They're a business at the end of the day.
21 -
Survivors say this but clearly enough of them keep queuing up no matter how miserable it is. Most of these people are addicted and this is the only game they play so I don’t see anything changing anytime soon.
-3 -
Well these posts aren’t doing much. You guys take a massive L every update but keep queuing up
3 -
So what do you do then? Do you keep queuing up? If so, why?
-4 -
I stopped playing survivor a while ago. Unless a mass exodus of survivors happens making killer queue times super long , I assure you nothing will happen
8 -
Okay. So you wanna know why I still queue up? Well, I wanted to see what the new Killer was like. I only faced her once and didn't even have much interaction with her, so I still don't have a solid impression. So I'll have to queue up some more. And then I still have a few more quests to do.
Also, Killer gameplay bores me, so I can't bring myself to queue up as Killer.

Truthfully, we are not okay. And you probably don't need to dig deep on the forum to find the posts many survivor mains made when it got announced that anti-tunnel and anti-slug got postponed.
It just so happened that the majority of the PTB tests was done by people who lean towards killer, and those who really defend tunneling with tooth and nail, who turned out to be the loudest complaints in the room, hence why it got postponed.
Also, from the PTB standpoint, the Krasue was tested WITH the counter-measures in place, and she was actually quite strong in that regard too. She felt a bit clunky, that's all. Now, the devs went and over-buffed her as a result of the feedback. So no, we survivors are not ok with this patch, which was meant to be FOR us, and not some patch that enables even more tunneling. cough cough .. krasue's power .. cough cough
20 -
Honestly, there's a killer for everyone. Try them out one by one, i guarantee you'll find one (or more) that you just click with. Recent killers have had alot of power creep, so if you work your way backwards then you'll probably find the older killers unappealing because alot of them require more game sense than more recent killers in order to get the best results. So I'd advise starting with the older killers and working your way up. Also, your experience playing survivor actually makes playing killer easier as you're familiar with all the tricks and hiding places lol

As someone who enjoys multiple killers, I'd say I agree with this statement.
@CrypticGirl
I highly enjoy playing Myers, and if you want to have fun, slap on Scratched Mirror and go to town. The amount of times I have gotten hilarious comments in the end-screen is more than I can count on both hands and feet combined.
Plus, it got buffed this patch as well, so if you want to scare the living daylights out of the survivors, go for it.
Also, I highly suggest trying out Wesker. He is really fun to play as, and feels very satisfying once you learn how to use his power.2 -
None of the gen regression perks like pop, pain res getting the planned nerfs but the OTR nerf went through meaning it was intentional.
Even better, they did revert Babysitter and Borrowed Time.
Tenacity losing 90% of its value is fine, but two extra seconds of Borrowed Time is just too damn much, apparently.
9 -
Survivor mains are masochists because as much as they complain, they still play solo queue daily.
16 -
100% true. They’re responsible for their own downfall, embarrassing
-9 -
Personally I'm waiting for the QoL to actually come through.
But, I find that most killers actually put handicaps on themselves. They don't slug for the 4k or tunnel the first person they find. They play relatively chill and its a good game.
The games though with a killer who uses the broken mechanics BHVR gives them, yeah, that ruins the experience, but some people can over look that.
-1 -
Relying on a players kindness to not employ tactics easily available to them is atrocious game design.
And I’m sorry to break it to you but that “QOL” update isn’t coming, maybe you get a watered down near useless version by 2027 like the anti camp meter.
7 -
Relying on a players kindness to not employ tactics easily available to them is atrocious game design.Agreed, unfortunately its BHVR's philosophy that they can't seem to let go of. Deathgarden was even worse.
And I’m sorry to break it to you but that “QOL” update isn’t coming, maybe you get a watered down near useless version by 2027 like the anti camp meter. Then I'll stick to the special event modes. I don't have anything in the way of expectations at this point and am patient enough to wait until it comes or move on if it doesn't.
10 -
Sadly, most of my buds dropped the game last year. So, if I play I only have solo q option, which is crap. Ive pretty much dropped survivor games due to the constant slugging. I enjoy playing Micheal. His changes are actually fun in my opinion. I'm probably going to just play Micheal when I get the itch to play dbd. I'll probably only do that until the new Halloween game comes out next year.
4 -
I wouldn't disagree but I'd call it resilience instead. For the past 3 years, BHVR has stress tested Survivor to see what they're willing to take and it's taken that long for them to realize that they'll take just about anything. Having a devoted player base should be a good thing, but in this scenario it's more like putty that can be manipulated. Kind of shiddy behavior for a company that prides itself on being so kind and forward-thinking. In my opinion.
14 -
They hate survivors so much they punish them for playing the game.
Don't worry, their solution would be "play survivor while you wait". They'll do absolutely anything to keep survivors miserable and killer easy mode.
21 -
That's one of my concerns too. It would be all too easy to implement Play As You Wait to cover any balance issues that affect the queue. It maintains itself essentially.
14 -
Just curious why you say killer is “easy mode”. Is this based on your personal experience? Can you share your killer stats? I certainly have some easy matches as killer, but I also consistently face skilled survivors and those matches are not “easy mode”. Maybe I’m just bad and need some help. Do you have any videos your killer gameplay to show how to win easily every time?
-9 -
This content has been removed.
-
Killer quite literally is the the easy mode and it’s not even close anymore, no matter how much you want to believe otherwise.
14 -
Survivors
Survivors should be renamed to victims because that’s what the role is, Killer main content creators have this game by the balls
But I doubt the play while you wait feature will be implemented because enough survivors are still queuing up to be punching bags
9 -
The bonus is almost always on Survivor and the game needs more of them to thrive, so it might be implemented sooner rather than later.
4 -
I'm not okay with it. I quit playing a few months ago, and up to that point, I'm not exaggerating when I say I purchased almost every character in the game and their cosmetics. I guess I'm what some people call a whale, lol. But that's stopped for me. I no longer buy anything for this game because of the state that survivor is in (mostly solo). I still check the forums when there's a new update to see what has changed, but yeah, I'm done with this game for now. Do better BHVR.
18 -
"Killer main content creators have this game by the balls"
It's what happens when, instead of having a proper tutorial system, they just leave the content creators to teach everyone how to play. Their word becomes gospel.
14 -
And yet you have not a single word of actual advice for a Killer main who's struggling?
I mean, if it's that easy, why don't you just play Killer and collect your free wins?
-6 -
Survivor mains are accustomed to getting buff after buff in every major update, and this patch was going to practically codify the Survivors' Rulebook for Killers before the Killer players (Accurately) informed BHVR that their anti-tunneling and anti-slugging systems would break the game for Killer.
But now that BHVR's scrapped those systems to be revisited at some later date, the only things left over in the patch are a couple nerfs to common Survivor perks like Off the Record, the map changes (Which added a lot more pallets to maps and made the game significantly easier for Survivor), and the new Killer (Who's pretty OP, to be honest).
But anyway, I'm happy to share what I know about playing Killer. Where would you say you're struggling most?
-21 -
I haven’t played since the fog vials.
12 -
Who said we were okay with this? There's literally nothing we can do apart from not playing, and even that isn't working. You'd think the insane queue time for Killers, which is caused the decreasingly smaller Survivor pool, would be a wake up call, but it isn't. BHVR continues to ignore Survivor feedback and only want to make Killers happy.
14 -
I could say the same about the last update. Infinite item charges with Streetwise for Survivors, Insanely fast vault speed with Last Stand, a new Survivor who's screams are not directional, etc..
Yes, Krasue is too strong. Yes, OTR should grant endurance. But the reason these changes were pushed it is because BHVR sucks at playtesting, balancing and listening to their community. Not because they hate Survivor.
Hell, they intended to push out insanely Survivor sided anti-slugging/anti-tunneling changes, and only depayed them when 90% of their player aye yelled at them what a terrible idea it was. They also put pallets every 5 meters this patch, which was added to live.
-15 -
"Infinite item charges with Streetwise for Survivors, Insanely fast vault speed with Last Stand, a new Survivor who's screams are not directional, etc.."
Those were bugs, not intended changes
14 -
So? They are both a symptom of the same problem. Not testing enough and not listening to the playtesters who they did have.
-12 -
No, OTR and Tenacity getting gutted was not a bug.
15 -
When did I say it was? They tested the new changes with the anti-tunnel changes, saw they are fine under those conditions, so they pushed them out even without the anti-tunnel changes. If they had playtested this patch without the anti-tunnel changes and had listened to those playtesters, it probably would have gotten reverted.
-7 -
The stuff that benefitted the Survivors were bugs that were almost immediately fixed. The needless nerfs Survivors got this patch and every other patch were intentional.
And you know what, let's talk about bugs, shall we? When Springtrap had a bug that made him invisible when he exited his doors, BHVR dragged their feet - this was after quickly fixing Streetwise. The difference? One benefitted Killers and the other benefitted Survivors.
12 -
It is going to be incredibly difficult to argue that the nerfs to OTR and Tenacity were anything other than intended. They didn't 'forget' to revert them and it's not like they weren't aware that they would normally require reversion.
This isn't oversight, this isn't them being unaware, this is a conscious decision to demolish these two perks, as further evidenced by the fact that they aren't getting fixed in 9.2.1, and they haven't committed to a revert. We're going to see 'changes' to OTR in 9.2.2.
This is not, in any way, comparable to bugs. You could try and argue that it's a case of them not listening to the testers, but the difference here is that in the case of Streetwise, they weren't listening, and in the case of OTR, they are listening, but they just don't care.
8 -
We can all cherrypick examples. They killswitched Nemesis PWYF faster than they killswitched Streetwise. Last Year Potential Energy was allowed to be bugged for insane gen speed for multiple weeks.
And about your examples: Streetwise got to stay in the game for like one week. The springtrap glitch was fixed after 9 days. That is not a big difference.-5 -
Okay, lets assume your position is 100% correct. So what? Killer perks get changed and nerfed all the time too. Sometimes those nerfs destroy them or make people unhappy. I think they should be reverted, but "They reworked 2 Survivor perks" is not a good argument for them favouring kilelrs. Literally DMS got nerfed in the same patch. Pain Res got nerfed 4 times over its lifespan. Quite recently Pentimento got reworked to be way worse than it used to be.
-7 -
Take the entire thing in context, though. The changes to tunnelling and slugging were a follow-up on an issue that's nine years old at this point. 9.2.0 was originally supposed to disincentivise these strategies. While the patch was poorly received and a revert could be understandable, taking a patch that was supposed to alleviate a problem and then turning it over to utterly gut two perks that help keep the problem in check is, I'm pretty sure, unprecedented.
Context is also important for the killer nerfs you are referencing. Pain Res having copped 4 nerfs over its lifespan isn't that remarkable when it's still the most-picked killer perk in the game. Pentimento, also, didn't get a straight nerf, becoming easier to use and get value out of, even if that value is diminished, and this is a few patches after it got an indirect buff due to the boost to Thrill of the Hunt.
While OTR can be argued (With difficulty) to be deserving of a nerf, there was nothing to put Tenacity on anyone's radar for a gutting, and the nerfs they have received are far more extensive than any of the ones you mentioned, with both of them having lost their core components entirely.
14 -
Deathgarden was so heavily survivor-sided that I played two matches and never touched it again. If, in game with that name, survivors swarm the "killer" and stunlock him after only DAYS of the game being playable, that's a problem.
Let's face it, if you play killer, you expect to be in the power position, and as survivor, your actual survival should be an uphill battle. The game (DBD) is now in a state where it should have been years ago, favoring the killer. The problem is just that instead of tweaking the basics, they make increasingly powerful but boring killers. How many Houndmasters, Vecnas, Draculas or Chuckys have you seen lately? Because they are boring.
And how many Trappers, Hillbillys, Spirits, Onis, Doctors? Because they are weak.
The only old killer that is good AND fun AND fair is Huntress.
-17 -
- I am not sure what you are trying to say. Do you think Matthew Cote walked into the meeting room and said "you know these anti-tunnel and anti-slugging changes we proposed even tho we only cater to killers? Well the community didn't like the execution and wanted different kinds of changes to help with these issues, so while we work on these we should hyperbuff slugging and tunneling and lets do that by keeping the rework of two perks we reworked for the PTB, and further adjusting one two weeks later?" Like, Tenacity didn't deserve to get nerfed, Off the Record didnt deserve to get reworked, yeah so what? That doesnt show that BHVR is "giving (Survivors) crumbs every update."
- This is still one patch. Yeah this one is Killer sided. That doesn't mean there is a trend for Killer sided updates.
-16 -
This the queue times on the servers I usually play on, if this isn't enough of a sign that on a WEEKEND it's like this, IDK what is.
To be clear the left is killer queuetimes.14 -
At this point I play DBD once a week on Fridays in a small streamer's SWF (no voice comms, other players range from less than 100 hours to 4.5k) and this week I could only stand like 3, maybe 4 games even with a group, things are grim
