Hex Totem placement is still an issue.

I have recently got into the use of Hex: Devour Hope and my LARGEST CONCERN is this:

Hex Totems spawn right next to generators, within running to that gen as a survivor, you can see it a few inches away obvious to the gen.

Hex placements are still bad if the Hex is destroyed at the beginning of the game before I can even run to it.

Hex Totems should spawn away from Generators at a meter distance just like how it spawns away from survivors.

A good solution? Make Totems locate at least 32 meters away from any gen, bad totem placement makes for a waste of a perk slot.

    Peanits, a good start would be to remove the fire and make them the Entity black (smoke/fog) that we see around hooks and Gens that are blocked off. Making them harder to see would go a long way.

    How about not letting lit totems spawn within x meters of a gen. Requiring they spawn within 1 meter of other objects, thus making them more likely to be tucked away. Increase the chance for them to spawn in corners, behind barrels, etc.

    Totem placement is a joke most of the time. Heck, I'd be ok with the idea of not letting hex totems light up for 60 seconds after the game begins.

    EDIT: And can killers please be able to know which totem is which? If I want to prioritize defending Lullaby over Ruin, that should be my choice.

    I actually like not knowing what totem is what. Since i tend to run Haunted Grounds, i love when a group of survivors fight so hard to cleanse a particular totem only to find out that they all have the exposed effect now....

    @not_Queen

    i defnitely agree on that, but i still think totems should not spawn right next to a gen. i think a survivor sitting on the gen should not be able to have eyecontact with a totem, otherwise they wouldnt have to search for them eigther.

    i like what you did on the red forest, where the totems can spawn close to a gen, but behind a wall, so survivors who'se only focus is the generator can not spot it. i think all of these spots should work like that. somewhere where you dont just sit right next to it while doing the objective, in a corner (or sthg similar) with some grass in front of it.

    i do apreciate the work you guys put into the totem spawns, they have become a lot better already, i just think they could need a little adjustment.

    i appreciate your work ^^

    I'll like to see totems be placed at unusual positions such as, for example, the second floor of the McMillan Estate: Iron Works of Misery. Perhaps we could make the basement bigger and probably stick a totem in there as well. If maps weren't so flat, besides from your occasional hill, totems could be hidden in the ground.

    Just spitting some ideas here! :)

    That would be interesting. It could also help if they could appear in other areas that normally aren't used, like around the edges of the map. Anything to make them less predictable or anything that gives them more potential spawnpoints would make it harder for survivors to find them.
