Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

9.2.1 Not for Switch?

I was gonna play DbD with my friends on PC, but it said we have different versions. I know the new 9.2.1 patch came out but there is no updates available when I try to manually update my game. There were also no notes in the patch notes itself stating that the patch would be delayed for Switch players. Is there any update on when that will become available?

That is the thing though, that message was from when 9.2.0 was released to everyone but Switch. Now that 9.2.1 came out, there was no note like last time nor was there any in-game message given to us Switch players upoupon launch.

All Switch players should currently be on 9.2.0

Yeah I can’t say I fully understand it myself. But as someone who also started playing on Nintendo switch, I feel your pain. Hope it gets sorted soon

It looks like every patch going forward will be delayed a few days just for Switch, isolating them from matchmaking during that gap with the other platforms due to the differing updates.

Switch players will no longer get the first of the bugfix patches, instead they will receive one bigger update for bugfix patch two. They will receive this approximately a week after its released on the other platforms.

We do have an FAQ explaining the way it works in a bit more detail:

Oh I see now. So that was for all future updates too. I thought it was specific to ththe recent delay with 9.2.0. Alright, I guess I will just have to wait to play with my friends again. The wording was a bit confusing when I first read it, but now I got it

The fact they drop this on the last week of the Rift is extra frustrating. I was able to claw my way through a few matches to finish the final challenges but I chalk that up to luck. Others will not be so lucky.

This is so annoying as we get stuck behind and we only get punished for it

As someone who mainly plays on PC and just tried using my Switch to play with a couple friends, it's wild that we're back to the 2018-esque issues of Chapters and Patches releasing on completely different dates on different platforms. Hopefully this is an issue that will be rectified in a future update.

    @Mandy gave you the answer.
Switch players would need to wait until Patch 9.2.2 - and approximately one week after it gets released onto the other platforms.

Not sure why this is, but it is very inconvenient for those who are affected.

A blessing in disguise for Switch gamers with the Pay to Win slop they pushed with Sinister Grace's Krasue.

I actually played against a Nintendo Switch Krasue today (we all died, but partly because my team was kinda clueless).

Obviously it sucks for people who want to play with friends on other platforms. I might be alone here, but I'm actually really enjoying being in Nintendo Switch purgatory. The match making can be pretty wild because there are fewer players, but overall my games have still been a lot more fun. The fact that we all have to struggle with the same frame rate and technical issues makes the games feel more fair. Few players take the matches ultra seriously in the way that players on other platforms do, since you know, we're all playing struggle DBD on the Switch. Plus, I have more opportunities to see that jumbo tambourine bug in action (not seen a Vecna yet, though).

I'll jump back over to PC when the Switch version is finally patched, but for now I'm enjoying the relatively chill games I've been having over there.

There should be some sort of compensation till this gets fixed switch players shouldn't have to suffer not being able to play with friends because Nintendo or devs can't figure out their patch release issues. Can a official patch release date be set across the board, Please?

    ^ This. Absolutely this.

My friend's playing a couple matches alone to do the dailies and I'm not playing at all because we have the game on PS4 and Switch. We have the game so we can play together. He's not having fun playing alone. BHVR needs to come up with a real schedule and fix this, and if Switch is going to continue to be exiled and get the worst treatment of all the platforms I'd like to know now, because it might be time for us to uninstall. The situation with DbD on Switch has gotten worse and worse ever since the port's release.

Switch players spent at least as much money as players on other platforms, we got less for it, and now we get excluded from playing with the rest of the playerbase for extended periods of time. The Rift is still going on, it's not like that's on pause. Plus the new DbD Day challenges. BHVR slows down Switch players (and my friend on PS4 playing without me isn't having a good time of things, either) but the FOMO stuff keeps marching along full speed.

The updates should be synced across platforms. Switch waiting on the sidelines is not acceptable in a game with cross-play (especially when there are FOMO elements like events and a battlepass).

Let's see, where does Switch stand in the scheme of things? The only console promised cross-progression with DLC transferring and the only one to not get it. The worst performance of all platforms. Plus it suffers from the same issues as other consoles, like no dead zone and response curve settings for controllers. And now we're on a different update schedule from everyone else and thus excluded from cross-play. BHVR, we're not freeloaders, we're paying customers.

This is absolutely ridiculous. It's been almost a week, I spend $40 to buy this game and it is one of the few games I genuinely enjoy. It's really unfair to switch player's to be be completely excluded from everything. Not everyone has the resources, space or money to be able to have better fancier consoles/pcs. The fact that behavior is ignoring the community and not even answering our questions is appalling. I've been playing since they dropped silent hill. You need to answer us BHVR When are we getting our game back? We need an exact date/schedule. How long are we going to have to keep dealing with this? It's almost theft at this point, paying that much for a game and not even getting to play it properly. You're a million dollar gaming company you can figure it.
