This event is getting ruined by Slugging killers
The Void is already incredibly punishing for Survivors, and the fact that nearly all of our event points require interactions with it is hard enough. But To additionally make it so that you're unable to leave AT ALL if you're slugged is abysmal. Killers genuinely just refuse to hook you 90% of the time because they get free tabs on you and then say "What I'm just having fun" while playing Bubba because they desperately want the basement Bubba back.
It's not just Cannibal though, obviously, it's any killer using this literal cage that survivors are encouraged to walk into and it's just FRUSTRATING because everything about this event is tied to it and it alone besides Pumpkins.
When I play Killer, I don't do this crap. It's just plain obnoxious to be so obsessed with having everyone under your thumb the entire game instead of just loosening up even the tiniest bit for an Event.
How about make the event not feel like such a slough???
Why does the Void have to punish survivors so badly???
Here is some concepts, just, you know, spitballing here:
- Remove like 75% of the pallets (Or all? I don't care) from the void (That way the Void is basically "No Man's Land").
- Killers cannot use their powers while inside the Void.
- Killers and Survivors cannot use their perks while inside the Void.
- Killers move at 115% in the void no matter what (Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger etc, all move at base speed).
- Allow Dying Survivors to leave the void, either by touching a portal, OR maybe a timer. Like if the Killer refuses to pick up, just have them transport automatically.
There, Simple solutions that make the Void less oppressive while keeping it from being a power trip for killers and a "Safe Zone" for survivors.
The Void should be a desolate and frightening place, but it shouldn't be used as a literal hobsin's choice when playing the event.

Genuinely, I like the idea of void being some kind of area where both sides are suddenly get rid of their personal bonuses, so it’s pure 1vs1 with m1 chase

Getting slugged? There is more than overpowered perks like Conviction, Unbreakable, Boon: Exponential etc. You can use them, don't eb scared.

I say the same on killers who complain about flashlight bully squads run Lightborn and you get them complaining I WANT TO RUN MY BUILD. You cant win.

Well, killer has 4 perks slots, survivors have 16. I'm shocked there are not killer basekit perks like survivors have. Killer shouldn't run anything to counter anything it should be mainly survivor-side requirement. If it's 2v4 and not 1v4 I'd might argue.

That's what I was hoping for

They did broken and exhausted for survivor, idk why it’s impossible to make same for killers. I would genuinely be curious about seeing 115% Nurse or other killer with no power. Some killers are pretty limited already - you can't get condemn as Onryo, Myers fishing with portals doesn't really a thing anymore

Then go play Killer and have it ruined by cheating Survs and sweaty SWF's lol The event all around just sucks unless you're in a SWF.

Because if one survivor is hunted by the killer in the void, there are three more survivors out there doing gens. If two survivors go to the void, and they are NOT broken, the killer had to follow them in order to not have them heal each other without any danger, and to do that he would have to give the rest free reign. Fleeing to the void has to have a downside.

Yes, and I don't deny that void should have downsides. But for both sides. Void also naturally slow downs gen progression because people want to farm cristalls and beat pumpkins. Yet this year this slowdown is so unappealing people prefer to stick to gens, using voids more like a transition between loops

It also speeds up gen progression because the killer ALSO wants to farm haunts and beat pumpkins. No difference in that regard.

Survivors have less passive ways to farm haunts. It's much easier and faster to collect it on killer, and while some gen kick and simple attention can counter value of cristalls on gens/fog, killer getting much more value from his passive powers. It's basically as same as in last masquerade event. Some “bully” “annoying” potential from survivor passives and whole straight buff for killer.
It's impossible to completely balance around it, but why it can’t actually be neutral territory where both sides showing direct chase skill and can’t rely on their bonuses? To earn even more bonuses later outside the void. At least hindered status that can be applied on survivors for no reason just because of poor RGN was too much

If your facing a comp swift team and this game and swifts is a balanced as a Hindu loving a Beef Burger

WDYM? Survivors farm it by doing gens. It can't get more passive than that.
If "simple attention" can counter the crystals, you aren't using them right. Of course, if you use them for running away while you are injured and wonder why the killer is still following you, that's just not helping there. But use it to make them miss that ONE important swing to get out, and it's gold.

Playing both killer and survivor showed me it’s much faster to farm haunt and use void on killer. Void is useless for survivor and rather punishing than beneficial, so more people gen rush on even. It is what happens when you make element of event extremely unattractive for one side only.
I used cristals for winning 50/50, but it’s just random things and doesn’t have any consistency. Good killers know how to outplay this. Same was with old fog vials, you staying out of fog and wait for survivor to show up rather than blindly swing. So survivors is either forced to drop pallet or sth, or go out of fog while me barely lost distance. At least I always played like this and wasn’t troubled on killer
