Pinhead Addon Pass
Patch 5.4.0 in 2021 nerfed 6 of his addons (2 Chain Hunt addons, 2 Box Solve addons, and both of his Ultra Rareaddons) in exchange for a single buff to Chatterer's Tooth, a gimmicky sidegrade that makes him disable his own power in exchange for 25 seconds of Undetectable. The buff was from 12 seconds to 25, so 6 addons were nerfed to make his worst addon slightly useable
All the rest of his addons have been untouched since, and the character has only recieved small tweaks to remove the box camping strategy or make his teleport not send him to another floor, but I really think that should change
As of right now he has many useless categories of addons:
Bent Nail is a meme addon that makes you weaker for slightly more BP, which obviously isn't good at all (especially since maximizing your Deviousness without this addon is pretty easy so long as you use your chains often enough).
The faster chain hunt addons used to be okay, but now the numbers are so small it's not really worth bringing them.
The cool-down addons barely reduce the 5 second cooldown at all, even when combined they reduce it from 5 seconds to 4.3, not even a 1 second reduction for both addon slots.
The turn-rate addons have barely any use since the most optimal way to use the Possessed Chain is to spawn it on top of the survivor so it's harder to dodge.
The chain length addons are only ever useful if you use the full length of the chain, which is again suboptimal as even when you need to chain someone far away (such as preventing them from solving the box) the casting range addons are better for that AND give more range at the same rarities.
Chatterer's Tooth is Chatterer's Tooth.
Why not some more varied addons? Keep the chain hunt running once all gens are done, or give him Undetectable after teleporting, or allow the possessed chain to remotely damage a gen? None of what I suggest here may be good, but it's hopefully at least interesting, there could be so much more done with Pinhead's addons considering how many aspects there are to his kit.

I agree completely that he has design space for incredibly interesting add-ons. He's the only killer with passive 1v4 pressure and the only things that lean into that are incredibly weak.
Unfortunately advocating for buffs for a reviled killer I'm the current DBD climate is a non starter

I'm sure they cannot revisit him any longer since he is not officially in the game rn.

Didn't Demo get balance changes despite being in the same state?

Yeah but I'm sure it just got number changes, if we wanna a complete rework to addons it would be harder…

if Pinhead could get a Pyramid Head level rework, that would solve things. a lot of the old Pyramid Head add-ons were borderline useless, other than the few numerical power changes.
Pinhead having a power thats literally just Nurse with extra steps minus any of the inherent benefit of mobility, should at least gain some sort of unique bonus via add-ons.

I'm fairly certain their licensing agreement permits them to change add-ons, but not the power itself in perpetuity.

They can do whatever whenever. They own the power

It is what it is but because he's kind of a low priority I guess they'll take his time with him. Maybe waiting for some info about his return in the game before making anything just to align power/addon rework + return of Pinhead.

He got changed just before his departure, and when he came back he got some minor tweaks. All changes to a license holder's character needs to be ran by them by BHVR, even if it is a miniscule number change. Myers getting buffed only today is probably because they needed to get the okay from the license holders to change him again.

You're right, the window to change Cenobite is gone now. For the same reason stated with Demo, the license holders need to give their okay when their character gets changed. We can't do that now that Pinhead is technically not apart of the game anymore, we'll have to wait and see if he comes back for him ti get any changes.

Doubtful. I'm pretty sure they present the assets and power for the character and they get approved. Any changes to the appearance and functionality of the character need to be approved. They're not hassling the licence holder whenever they need to rebalance them by altering power numbers or add-ons. Only big things like a complete power rework or changing the character's appearance would need to be approved. Otherwise it'd be an insane amount of red tape for every single change.

Well its either that, or the devs are terrible at recognizing a killer's strength and whether they need buffs or nerfs ASAP, which for some killers they are, but its especially noticeable for new releases
