Did they forogt about the Frank stone skin or are they doing something else with it?
So I recently found out that BHVR forgot to include the Frank Stone skin they revealed during the PAX livestream on the Year 9 roadmap. It was supposed to release in September, but we didn’t get anything.
Possible outcomes:
- The skin might be scheduled for a later release — maybe around Halloween?
- It was canceled.
- Or perhaps he’s getting his own killer design?
Are there any other thoughts or details I might have missed about this?
Edit: Because all other skins/collections that were anounced during the livestream are already in the game.

Hopes Frank Stone get his own chapter even if some years from now.
The Casting of Frank Stone was a first attempt to expand the DBD universe lore and it would be a waste see all of this potential thrown away for a Trapper skin.

Hopefully they forgot it, I hated that game.
I'm kidding. I'm assuming they heard the backlash of making him just a skin and have shelved it for now to do something else with him. Maybe they'll do a Chapter after all. They could've also just not been happy with the quality of the skin and postponed it to do some finishing touches. Someone on Twitter said they were apparently going to do that with a Claudette skin in the next Rift. So that's a possibility ig.

i hope they either canceled it to make it a full blown chapter or just canned it. Frank stone desserves to be its own chapter with:
Killer: (frank stone/the champion)
survivor(s): (linda castle and sam green. With skins for the others: chris, jaime, bonnie, robert, young linda, young sam green, stan, maddie and maaaaybe even augustine.)
map(s): either the Cedar Hill steel mill or Gerant Manor
mori: Gut grab thing
Theme song: Monster in the house (boxed ape)
Main menu theme: My key My killer (boxed ape)
Power: A mix between wraith and spirit where a SINGLE survivor can use a super eight camera to "slow" frank stone down but this would come at a cost. The power could also include some screens where frank stone could "teleport" to
Main menu lobby: Either the boiler room in the steel mill or the entity scene at the end of the game.
Steam DLC item: The champion Doll/plushie1 -
i hope they decided to turn it into a chapter. It would only make sense overal
#1 they already have most things needed for the chapter
#2 its an original chapter so they wont have to pay license fees.
#3 players can unlock it for free via shards2 -
The only thing I can think of is that there might be a licensing conflict with Supermassive. SM and Sony but heads quite a bit anymore and SM is getting tired of being pushed around after Sony yanked Until Dawn from them.

Which is impossible since BHVR fully owns the copyright to TCOFS. SM have no legal rights to it or to how bhvr use the game, since SM were just hired to develop it for them.
The same way SM were only hired to develop The Quarry for 2K and Until Dawn for Sony.
The Dark Pictures Anthology is the only real thing that SM actually owns.

How is that not entirely true? SM takes work for hire just like bhvr does for other companies and their IPs.
SM doesn't hold any copyright over TCOFS because they were only hired by bhvr to develop it for them, the same way SM don't own Until Dawn and The Quarry. Something that the copyright text of those games backs up by not mentioning SM in them.
That's not an assumption either btw, that's entirely a fact. (Also Cote himself have stated in interviews that bhvr entirely owns TCOFS.)

So to come back on this topic for those who have not seen the live stream yesterday.
They did cancel the skin but they say that they are revisiting how they will bring Frank Stone to the game.
This could be actual a Chapter release but we will have to wait on further upcomming updates.1 -
That's interesting. If not a skin, then what other options besides a killer are there?
Surely he's not gonna be relegated to a few badges and banners?

Thing is we alr got banners and badges and we also got charms and since a skin is off thr table a chapter is the only logical option
