Stealth killers, a prompt for discussion
TLDR: what sre the peoples thoughts on Stealth killers? I am curious
While playing killer a survivor said one time, a survivor said scratched mirror myers was to strong and needed a nerf?
So i know it could be hyperbole, and don't believe every thing someone says nerf this or nerf that it made me wonder…
Do some people legitimately think that stealth killers are to strong? What makes them think this?
All of the stealth based killers are primarily m1, with some having the ability to process insta down, but at the same time the killers is also wasting time to mark you?

My first main is ghostface, and genuinely, stealth killers may work well only against players without headphones or on indoor maps. Nothing really “special” about them.
There are can be some exclusions personally for every person. Me for example having accessibility issues playing against Dredge during Nightfall (I’m kinda sensitive to sounds) or Chucky in Hide and Seek mode in loops. But I think people don't massively struggle against them. I mean, Myers literally has loud breath sound, so you still can detect him. It's something kinda specific and minor for each person

Fair assesemnet, and in a way most killer with stealth in their kit have a tell when they are going to attack you/nearby
PIg ambush, a roar
Myers, loud breathing
Wraith, Bell ring

Personally I love stealth killers. When I was brand new to the game and didn't fully understand killer powers, I use to get super frustrated with them and felt they were unfair. Now that I've played longer, stealth killers are actually some of the ones I love playing against the most. They bring a apprehension others are unable to match and to me, that's fun.
So far as their strength goes, honestly I feel like the stealth killers are generally weaker than most other killers. Pig has a dash ability that isn't all that strong. Ghostface has the ability to expose, but a good survivor that's paying attention can avoid it or just out loop it. Onryo is well known to be weak. Wraith is hit and miss. Myers is the only one I'm unsure of only because I haven't played him since the update, but prior, even scratched mirror for the aura reading was still not all that powerful because of how slow he was.
So I guess to answer it shortly, I think the ones that have such a strong opinion on them may just not be familiar enough yet with them. I've seen time and time again when I introduced friends to the game, them being upset with stealth killers only to in the end prefer them once they are better at the game overall. Just my observation.

Sometimes stealth killers can more effectively cut survivor ways and do pathing that catches off guard. But it works when survivor not familiar with maps or checkspots

With the right map they can be pretty strong, but the nerf to map offerings really hurt them.
They're also really strong against new players who haven't learned all the signs.
Other than that? They're fine. Being able to get up on survivors before they pre-run can be very beneficial. But the stealth aspect by itself is not going to win any games.

The on-demand aura read on Scratched Mirror is a little wild but it's so niche that it's fine.
I don't particularly like playing as stealth killers. Creeping around isn't interesting to me. Playing against them, I don't mind anyone but Pig. I recently got a better headset too, and that has made Ghostface and Michael much louder.

Cogsturning, don't spiders creep?
I can understand its not everyone's cup of tea
But I like the spook factor at times. Especially when you see the survivors just spawn then look up? Kinda hilarious

And ghostie, flappy robes and flip-flops.

Ahahaha you got me there. I guess I might make a future exception.
I dig that. I've been playing as Dredge and I love popping out of lockers when people walk by, or snatching them up when they're interacting with them. I just don't have the patience to do that all the time.

Stealth killers in dbd are generally all low tier as at the end of the day they're basic m1 killers who get looped. The "stealth" would normally counter some of this problem except swf exists. They just call you out every time. "He's heading your way!" "He's going shack!". This basically removes your stealth.
Tbh stealth killers in general could use some good buffs across the board.

Most stealth powers arent pure stealth either sadako has lullaby and is invisiable from further than 24 meters I think, dreadge has loud noices like coming out of locker and you see him bright in nightfall same as he sees survivors, springtrap can be reruned because his doors exit sound isnt that loud and his footsteps are like mechagodzila coming for you bas as old dreadge sound, chucky you know you are in his tr by seeing sfootsteps spawning around you and he chuckles and laughs often which makes him less stealth, merchant has just 8 seconds stealth that is good in places where you cant see her and devs want to nerf it to 6 now, freddy has lullaby when you are in dreamworld I think but that isnt such stealth as sadako, most stealthy killers right now are wraith and ghostface maybe mayers tier 1 (stalking mode) but mayers depends more on map so many stealth killers arent realy stealthy as ghostface and wraith. Demogorgan, there isnt even point to talk about 5 seconds of oblivious effect compare to springtraps 15 basekit, he is just outdated as dinosuar in DBD right now.

The most demanding part is blocked los which on open maps is against stealth killers for this to work so cutting survivors off isnt that reliable as it sounds.

Stealth killers are usually just soloQ stompers, but as soon you play against group who will do callouts, it won't be that easy.
Also highly map dependant, sure it works great against almost any group if you are on Lery's, but open maps can kinda remove your power.

I often play stealth killers and primarily use skull merchant / chucky / sadako for their on/off stealth, and usually end up with good results as most players rely on pre running once hey hear a terror radius, and red stains when looping around walls. With those 2 things constantly turning on and off it makes the survivors easier to get close to before they can react.

They are some of the more difficult things to go against if someone is new.
Once people start getting better and more aware, stealth killers start to get worse.

Stealth Killers are the only time in the Game when I feel like playing a horror game.
Their sole existance can cause paranoia and that is fantastic.
Everyone had one of these games. You sit on a gen nearly in the middle of the map and after half a gen you still had no Terrorradius. These are the "Oh ######### he is behind me" moments which I really love.
Do i consider them strong… well it is something else to loop a Ghostface if he is cloaked. No red stain and no check spots. Althrough it is funny as hell if he crouches in a moonwalk style to hit you off guard. But most of the time they are just M1s.

i want more stealth killers, they along with trap killers change up the gameplay more than a killer who get across the map in 5 seconds.

Being a Mikey main I love playing a stealth killer. With his recent buffs I would call him the strongest stealth killer now.
As he should be. He's Michael Myers.

I love stealth killers, aside from wraith, who I think is just boring to play as and against.
Otherwise I'd really love to see them brought up to mikey's level of interaction and strength. Maybe GF having his 2v8 speed in night shroud or something, pig is in a good place I feel now.0
