Why doesn't a chase start when Pig is crouching?
BHVR got rid of the playstyle of camping a box to guarantee a kill.
Now the Pig can just crouch behind you and you can't do anything about it. When your trap is active you are ######### no matter what. In my opinion a chase should start like normal, when the Pig is crouching, so there is at least some counter play.
I don't want to get the Pig nerfed, since I also like to playing her, but his is just bullshit design.
Before anyone says: "ThEn DOn'T ComPleTE AnY GeNs" go ahead and tell this randoms in your lobby, when you're not a 4 people SWF.

I'm confused. What was preventing you from taking the trap off?
Was the pig body blocking you into a poorly placed box? Because thats bannable.

I’ll never understand why people playing Pig completely waste their power and tunnel. The whole point of the trap is to take someone out of the game for a while, create slowdown, and shift focus, not to chase them down right after putting it on. You’re supposed to use that time to pressure others, not erase the slowdown you just earned.

I would say because spending 150s following a Survivor in crouch is incredibly inefficient and a massive gamble, especially if you have a good first chase.
A Pig doing this will for sure only have 1 headtrap out, she has no idea how many searches you have on your headtrap, could be 1, 2, 3 or 4, she has no way to know, so if she wants a head pop, she has to stop you doing boxes period.
If you find a Pig doing this, at your discretion, you as a Survivor can watch gen progress on the HUD, and when they are good and far, say 50% done, just keep a hold of your Jigsaw boxes. Ignore her and force Pig to down you or let you complete the box.
You will get your head trap off, or she will down you and stop your timer. A Pig really determined for a head pop will waste so much time if you keep forcing her to down you, you stand a decent chance of getting hatch.
Especially if you have Sprint Burst, you can bait her to stand up to stop you then sprint away before she can actually down you. This will start chase, cause she is standing, and it will take quite a while for chase to turn off if she remains anywhere near you.

So, here's what always worked for me. When a Pig does this, go to a box and try remove the trap. They will panic and grab you off the box. Refuse to wiggle. They'll either hook you or, if theyre committed to the bit, will pick up and drop you until you're back on your feet to try again. Run straight back to the box and try remove the trap. Rinse and repeat. While this not only puts a wrench in their plan, it ultimately buys your team time to smash the gens. As a Pig enjoyer myself, it's a silly way to play but people love copying what they see on YouTube.

Well, you are 100% dead if she decides to do it, but you can force her to down/hook you when you just start solving the box in front of her.
You are still screwed, but it's not difficult to get 3 escapes out of this. I would say it's basically form of tunneling, just worse.4 -
If that were the case there wouldn't be so many add-ons that apply debuffs to trapped survivors, specifically the exhaustion addon

- I understand your complaint, but I don't think anything should change. Pig playing this way is simply "ensuring" a kill, but is losing the game/generators.

If the pig follows you while crouched, your timer keeps ticking. And if u try to take your trap off, the hit you or knock you down. In otherwords the only possible way that 1 player can live is by getting the hatch as you are not allowed to leave with the hat active either. So she basicly prevents you from ever taking the hat off and can bypass the timer stopping from chase by crouching when following you.

Yeah it's one of the worst things about facing Pig, especially those who have the scream and slower box search builds.
-2 -
Fact is it creates huge potencial for tunnel to survivors dont heal like half the time and go to get the trap off their head and its easy to find them which is the closest search box near the location there were last time like hook and thats perfect for tunneling too with fact that pig is bad killer in chase and is more like jack of all trades she has many things but none one that would be somehow strong and consistent (traps slowdown isnt bad but still survivors can get it off with few tries and she has hard time to get downs for using her traps early where it is more needed).
-3 -
Probably given she has old "Undetectable" (likely ripped from Wraith's cloaked form) where chase cannot be started while "being sneaky". I suspect both Wraith and Pig still have their underlying old "undetectable" code with the new undetectable slapped ontop.
But yeah, as others have said, just repeatedly try to get the trap off, force the pigs hand.

But in general, now that Pig can hit 4.4m/s with combat strap in crouch, probs should initiate chase.
-3 -
you aren’t 100% dead. I’ve done it a few times and players have escaped via hatch.

Helps with the stealth aspect. If you're crouching behind someone running and looking infornt, they won't see or hear you coming until you ambush or uncrouch.
For this strategy with the RBT, its pretty redundant and irrelevant. Yes, you'll die, but you're going to waste her time all the remainder of the game if you just keep getting on the box in her face and eating the down, which pauses your timer and once you're picked up, restarts the cycle of her getting a single kill. This strategy is unavoidable for that one survivor, but it also means she can only get one kill cus she's not pressuring the others.

The Pig doing this will only get that one kill at best, and is actively throwing the game doing so. As others have said, stay on the boxes to force her to grab or down you. Your team wins when she tries this.

So lemme get this straight, you're suggesting that Pig has her undetectable status when crouching removed because some pig players like to throw the entirety of their games and crouch to someone the whole or most of the match to prevent box searches? Yeah, that's called a nerf, especially on a m1 killer with already little map presence or pressure to begin with. The best solution is to get her out of crouch mode by searching boxes and forcing the down, making your timer go on standby mode, as stated by a few forum members; buys you more time and wastes the Pig player's time even more than they're already wasting by following you around.
1 -
Ok, so 99%… Pig needs to leave you so you even have chance to find hatch in this situation.
You can escape with active trap, but that doesn't really happen if she follows you.0 -
I never said, taht her undetectable should get removed. Just, that a chase should start. You can still initiate chases while undetectable by whatever other means.
The timer going into standby doesn't pause the bleedout timer, Sherlock. So you are dead 100% of the time, which is unavoidable.
Forcing a grab off a box leads to a hook, because you cannot guarantee, that random people save you all the time from being hooked (flashlight/pallet save or sabotage).
So you are dead 100% of the time, no matter what you do. That is the EXACT same as camping a box.0
