How come the devs only released kill rates during the first iteration of 2v8?
Is it because they are hiding the fact that killer is underperforming in that mode, but they don't want to justify reasons to buff killer because they want more survivors playing it?

Kill Rate statistics are frequently misused by the community. The game would be genuinely better off if kill rate stats like that were never publicized again.
And we both know nerfing killers wont fix the queue lengths, because the novelty of two killers is the draw for 2v8. Survivor does nothing to iterate on the formula. On top of all of this, they have only buffed killers in 2v8 to my knowledge - Billy was given his instadown back, they added strong killers like Spirit, Oni and now Dracula, etc etc

It's definitely not that deep, part of it is due to time on the Community Team side, we don't always have the time to create the assets for the posts when there's other things that have priority. But the main part, was that there was barely any difference in kill rates between the different iterations - and when I say barely any, I mean less than 1%.

Oh wow, even with the herbs too? I'd love to see them back in some form, I enjoyed them on both sides

But you guys made multiple changes to killers, classes and had new additions? You say it's 1% but legion, wesker, nemesis, ghostface and oni never had any stats revealed?
So that 1% reasoning doesnt make much sense.

Most likely yes. This is one of those Fun > Performance game modes. It overwhelmingly favors Survivors but it's obviously more fun as Killer. They should not buff Killer as queue times are already dreadful now imagine if it was both strong and favored in the mode.

It can't be more obvious that killer is way worse than survivor in this mode, but the stats get skewed simply by bad survivor players. Killer is just more fun to play, you don't need to rely on 7 randoms to know what they're doing. Even if it's the worse role, its just more worth your time to actually have fun than survivor is where gens fly, teammates are horrible and often uncoordinated despite having lots of basekit info perks
