Quick fix for Styptic not to be totally pointless

While there is argument for a revert on the medkit changes, or other ideas that could be explored... the base problem is the current change to Styptic is outclassed by every other add you can pick, making the add-on is pointless.

If my maths is right, due to the 33% efficuxeincy penalty, 15% efficiency saves 3.13 charges over a single self heal. That means with:

  • no charge add-ons you get 1 self heal and 3.13 charges left over.
  • 8 charge add-on you get 1 self heal and 11.13 charges left over, or a 53.33% on a second heal.
  • 10 charges add-on you get 1 self heal and 13.13 charges left over, or 62.92% on a second heal.
  • 16 charges add-on you get 1 self heal with 19.13 charges left over, or 91.66% on a second heal.

So yeah... it is beaten by all your other options. A single brown add-on beats it, and you'd have to seriously jack this number up for it to beat out charge add-onsls...

I'm not sure this is where stypic should go... tbh I felt the original impl wasnt bad, but if this is the direction to go, as a quick fix, why is this effect limited to self healing?

Why not make it so Styptic: -

Has at least 25% efficiency (needs more likely 45% to see actual value)

Improves ALL types of healing efficiency with a medkit

We don't have a reason to use medkits altruistically in the game, a Styptic would mean we would have full 3 heals for teammates if we combine with iri gauze instead of 2.

Edited version:

Why not make it so Styptic has at least 50% efficiency for altruistic healing.

That would at least mean you have 2 self heals or a fast teammate healing option without having to use a perk. It is still made pretty pointless ofc by the existence of Botany, but so is everything else healing wise... bit at least with botany this would actually give you a decently strong heal combo, without having to multiple stack healing perks.

I expect Styptic to change, but if you don't have time for anything else in 9.3.0, these 2 changes would at least not make it a completely useless add-on.
