Why Was Autohaven's Lighting Changed After Backlash?
As far as I'm aware, this sky dome change received massive backlash for looking just like Fallen Refuge. Why was this still pushed to live? Autohaven was not at all dark, if anything it's even harder to see now with the fog and super bright lights. That's what gamma increase is for. Please revert this change, thank you.

The map was not pushed to live, the changes have been made on it to adjust the colour scheme which was the main complaint on the map in the PTB

But it looks exactly the same as it did in the PTB. Please, just revert it to the lighting we had before, there was no problem with it and it looks way better.

It had a yellow tone in the PTB it's now very green, I will say if you have your gamma slider up too high it will be bright cos of the fog - the recommended 2.2 for the gamma slider though does not have this issue.

I have my gamma setting on 2.2 and it was still very bright and hard on the eyes to look at, I had to turn it down well below that to avoid getting a headache (which then of course made the rest of the game and other maps too dark). It's better than it was on the PTB, but this is still an issue.

Nobody complained about the previous live one besides a whopping 4 individuals. Maps like Eyrie and Toba desperately need visual changes, Autohaven did not.

That's kinda how gamma is used though. People who like their games darker and more immersive won't touch gamma, where as someone like me prefers it on max. On all maps (other than Fallen Refuge) the brightness was completely fine, not that it was even dark on the default anyway. The whole point of introducing gamma was so people wouldn't rely on filters and for console players to be able to adjust their brightness too, changing a map's brightness after this change is just pointless, potentially your complaints were coming from people who haven't turned their gamma up yet, Because I can assure you, Autohaven's lighting was not a problem.

The filters are pretty gross. Why is one map vomit green and another map varicose vein blue? Makes 0 sense. Just make the graphics of the game better and you won't need these ugly filters. Go for that semi realistic look that a game like Outlast Trials has please and thank you. Very bright and realistic lighting where it's needed and much darker where it isn't.
We all know DBD could look so much better in general.. This games graphics are dated and nothing about them screams UE5. New Gas Heaven gives me old Haddonfield cartoon town vibes honestly..

I know you can't please everyone but I liked the PTB version the best. Current live version is alright, and I like it more than what we had before but I think its a bit too green.

They probably can't make them better without breaking the game.

Personally I miss the blue tint. I don't know why everything needs to be dusty, grungy, and shades of brown, yellow, or green. Cool blue feels like night time, even if the map isn't as dark as it used to be.

- I appreciate (actually, I love) DBD's retro graphics, I always like almost everything aesthetically, but this change really sucks. And no, it's not nostalgia, it's just an aesthetic factor.

Icel, you might be forgetting what Autohaven looked like already. Unless you mean the old old Autohaven, before realm beyond, that had a slightly blue tint. The sky dome color was greenish to match the map's terrain color and various props. That 's not the problem though, the problem is the lighting was changed for no reason and no one complained about it. Now we have a Fallen Refuge 2.0. It's a shame, Autohaven being one of the original three realms and now being changed to this slop that you can't even see through.
Note: this image doesn't have any gamma increases, and it's already a good brightness.
New lighting for some reason also meant "we're adding fog back!" So on top of the already chlorophyl staining color, you also can't see further than 40 meters in front of you when fog isn't even present on any other maps. (except Fallen Refuge ofc)

Yes, it’s extremely radioactive toxic waste green. It looks absolutely awful and unnatural. Literally every single element of the maps is just some different shade of toxic waste green. I am at a loss for how anyone looked at this and said “this looks way better!”

No one asked to change the colour of the Gas Heaven map. It is as awful as Fallen Refuge. This greenish colour is terrible.

I'm dropping my comment to express my opinion as one of the minority (at least here, based on comments and downvotes) that actually likes the new look for Autohaven. It brings back old DBD vibes for me. Sure, it takes some adjusting, but I like it.

I actually feel the same... it is noticably bright I think, so the critiques aren't invalid... but I do like the foggy atmosphere, that hasn't been a thing really since I started playing.
Maybe I just really like fog... blue tint, green tint, don't really care... I just like fog 😶🌫️

More fog is cool for me.
But the colour is still more yellowish than before and the lights are kinda strangely bright. (Everything default on PS4 and PC)
I also had no problem with the maps colour before. Also don´t understand where the need to change this came from.

We might be a minority but I have to say I also like the new look. I think it gives the map a spooky otherworldy vibe. It has less of a cool colour temperature now and I much prefer that.

They honestly should just make volumetric fog an option already instead of yo-yoing with it constantly. Casual players who love "immersion" can have their fog whilst competitive ones can not have it.

Gamma already kinda does this though, so I really don't know why they ruined Autohaven when no one even asked for it to be changed.

I don't mind it. The fog should have came back a long time ago. It's a little silly that you can just… see across the entire map on multiple maps despite the size with some of them.

It was a pretext all along to justify their horrible changes to the realm. They already knew a lot of people wouldn't like it.
