We know "aim dressing" robs Killers of fair hits - let us disable it.
We know this feature only exists to make hits more visually "attractive" and appear more "legit", and that it will never secure a hit you otherwise would have missed, only make you miss hits you otherwise would have gotten. I didn't notice it as much when I was mostly playing Huntress and barely using my M1. Now, it's constantly apparent and a source of endless frustration. I cannot help but wonder how many times, while playing Survivor, a killer "whiffed" an M1 on me and hit the environment, but they really just got robbed by aim dressing. It's most obvious when I play Slinger. Nothing like what should be a perfectly fair, clean Iri Coin down just for the aim dressing to jerk my camera 90 degrees to the side at the last possible second with no camera input from me whatsoever.
Not once ever have I gone, "Thank goodness for aim dressing, it's so helpful." It has lost me chases and, at critical points, entire games.
It is the Year of Our Entity 2025, LET US TOGGLE AIM DRESSING OFF.
Edit for clarity: I know I said "autoaim" in the video. I misspoke. I am not referring to actual autoaim. Autoaim and "aim dressing" are two different mechanics that serve entirely different functions. Autoaim is actually meant to assist the player, "aim dressing" is meant to be a visual enhancement, but can rob you of fair hits. This has been acknowledged by the devs as something they'd "like to fix," at least as far back as 2020.

No? It's the reason lunges actually hit Survivors instead of you having to manually let go of the attack key to start a swing.
Ever gone too far past a Survivor while swinging as Chucky? That's because he doesn't have Aim Dressing on Slice and Dice.
Granted the system has its hitches, but it's one of those things that you won't notice it at all if everything's going well, and it'll be obvious when it goes wrong.

We've been asking them for years to make certain aspects of the game a toggleable option such as aim dressing, chat filter or volumetric fog. They simply refuse to.

I know I said "auto aim" in the video, but I misspoke. I meant aim dressing. They are two different mechanics and serve entirely different functions. From the actual devs…
…and the thread, itself…
So, as @Chrarcq stated, the community has been begging them to fix this (or at least make it optional) for actual years, and they just haven't. And, as stated by the devs themselves, it is NOT auto-aim, it does not help you get hits, but it can (AND WILL) rob you of hits you otherwise would have gotten.

Well this explains why I sometimes miss hits for no apparent reason. Thanks for this, devs.

100% with the OP. I can't describe how annoying it is when you're locked in, trying to guide your lunge and this dumb mechanic wrests control from you, jerking you into the corner you were trying to steer around.
It's been a royal pain for years, so what's the actual situation on this problem?
Like…does the studio want to do something about it, but the bosses said no? Any information would be great.
